Here are a couple of pointers. 1. There is no cell phone service. A satellite communicator is a must or a newer phone that can text over satellite 2. roads are terrible when wet. Bring everything you need to get yourself unstuck. Traction boards, come-along etc. 3. Be bear aware and smart in your camp. Have bumped into a few over the years and seems to be happening more often 4. Have your tag on you at all times. They will check it every time they see you. Even if you just passed them 10 mins prior. Good luck

SIX, here’s a teaser to get you fired up! This was the years you could run cameras and some bulls I had hunters on in 6a. Unfortunately, out of 3 guys only one wrapped his tag. The other 2 both had great shot opportunities and caved under pressure. This bull I watched most the summer in 2019 and first week of September he moved 4 miles south. Called him in and guy from New York missed him twice under 40 yards 😫😫 Had 9 bulls on this water at once! This tank was deadly when it could hold water into September which was always hit or miss. Sick Bull we named jigsaw. Never could turn him up after he shed velvet. Buddy from Michigan missed a chip shot on this bull…Bull rattled him bad

This gun was set up at Thompson’s long range shot out to 1000 yards. The gun is a vanguard 6.5-300 in first light fusion with a cerokoated barrel. The scope is a leupold 4-14 custom built with hash marks out to 1000 yards. I’ve taken 2 animals with it 1 at 604 and one at 519. This gun is a shooter and completely ready to hunt with. Will come with 2 boxes of ammo. $2200

The boy, the dog and I headed up north for a few days before school started. The dog did some retrieves in A1, and Levi caught his first trout at Bog Tank.

Yeah I missed one on another site for 650 about a month ago. I forgot that the reticle would only work on FFP scopes.

Anybody need sofas for hunt camp or cabin or dorm? Not perfect (I'd rate these a 6 out of 10) by a long shot but they are worth what you'll pay for them. 🤣 Non smoking home with no pets. Must be picked up in 85254. If interested, send me a PM. Eddie

I saw some yesterday that sprouted new growth. With this very mild winter, I still think we could have some perfectly timed rains.

Fall bear, Elk, and Coues lotteries close on February 23rd. Lottery drawing on February 24th starting sometime in the AM. Fall bear hunts did not have the 1st or 2nd hunt option during entry so I'm sure once you're drawn the office would be giving you a call to get your preference. I wouldn't be discouraged if you initially receive a "not drawn" email. Because some may take a 1st or 2nd hunt over one or the other it will result in 2nd, 3rd, etc rounds of drawings which of course could take all day or even all week. Elk lotteries will follow the same format and same additional rounds where required. Not sure why (assume its due to the "ease" of entering from your mobile device) but draw success will be way down this year with a gargantuan amount of entries this time around for all species/hunts. Coues deer lotteries will be a nightmare but they always are. If you applied for multiple units/hunts, you'll have to make the decision to accept the first tag you receive or roll the dice and hold out for the more premier units/hunts. The lottery will likely start with the less desired units/hunts and move up from there so could take some time with several rounds of drawing. Good luck to everyone that applied. I'm always available for questions or whatever anytime and can be reached at 928.200.2209. In other news around the Rez. Predator Management Event will be March 14-16 same format as before. I'll post info soon in the appropriate forum. Bass fishing at San Carlos Lake has been amazing for the last month or so and only getting better with this weather. Consistent 2-7lb bass being caught all over the Lake. Large boat launching and trailer parking available at the Soda Canyon ramp with more primitive launching at New Government corral. The lower Mohave ramp was covered in sand so wouldn't recommend. Crappie bite shouldn't be too far behind, there have been some caught here and there 2 to 3 lbs. DAN

My wife and I just got back from a Spectacular fishing trip with Jim's fishing on Mohave lake. We both caught our personal best Striper. We were extremely fortunate to bring 12 fish to the boat in about 6 hours of fishing. If anyone is looking for a fun fishing trip, I HIGHLY recommend giving Jim a call. 928-245-3487
