If you aren't going to eat it then don't kill them. You can stalk them but use your camera or don't hunt them at all.

Are you this Timmy Winslow? you’ve posted more in this thread than you have on this site in years combined

I think selling spots is lame, especially to out of state hunters. Finding spots on your own is part of the fun.

Why kill something if your not going to eat it

Good on your kid. Went to school with a lot of the premier guides in my area. Most are fantastic humans. Creating laws that prevent the average guy that can’t afford a guide from getting scouting reports seems wild to me. Even if I get the same pins its my job to scout the pins and see where I want to hunt.

Super cheap. Might as well blow up all three units, I’m trying to look out for the “hunter” that don’t have time to scout

That’s why they bought the fuckin scouting package. Pins to places where they can start their hunt and scout as they go.

Doves are easy to overcook and then they get rubbery and taste like liver. They are best when they are still a tinch pink inside. Big Browns has a killer recipe for poppers. I have a friend that makes jerky out of them and you wouldn't know it was dove if someone didn't tell you. For dove I take a paring knife and take the meat off each side of the breast. I season with cumin and chili powder and let it sit while I chop up some bacon, garlic and cilantro. I'll cook the bacon down for a few minutes and when it is done on one side drain most of the fat then add the garlic. Once the garlic is done on one side I stir it and add the dove. If you've ever grilled salmon you know when it is time to flip it when the fat oozes out and turns white. With dove you will see the blood start to ooze and the edges begin to turn turn brown. If you like cilantro now is when you add it and stir the dove. Take the pan off the stove, cover it and let it sit for a minute. Makes great taco's. I like it with queso fresca and I'll cook down some prickly pear tunas before hand and put the syrup on them. Javelina is a light colored meat, similar to antelope that I've had. I bone them out and when I get home I brine the meat in a bucket with a bag or two of ice for 4-6 hours and do that twice. Then I put the meat in a collander with a bowl below it to catch the blood and cover it with plastic wrap. I put it in the refrigerator rinse and pat dry the meat each day to age for a week. It's not too bad smoke but since it is so lean it can dry out easy but wrapping it in chilli's and then bacon will keep it from drying out to much. I usually make chilli.

Its called a scouting package. Sucks but totally legal. I love it when the scout package hunters kill bigger animals then the guided hunters that were with the guides that sold them.

26 year old at work fell off an excavator and blew his elbow up on a fire and had multiple surgeries on it. Got infected and had a couple skin grafts. He is 10000% able besides the fact he can’t shoot a bow because his arm won’t ever be straight and won’t ever hold the weight of drawing a bow. I don’t know much about the champ deal. Would he qualify for that?

What is the reason for banning anything in hunting? Because the more we can exclude others from participation, the more we can tailor hunting around our own interests, preserving our own opportunities at the expense of others. Yes, a crossbow is easier to use than a compound bow. Yes, a compound bow is easier to use than a traditional bow. That’s why compound guys want compounds excluded. Same reason trad guys want their own season. The simple fact is that as the population of AZ grows, we will have to find ways to further limit the % of harvest. That can be done in a lot of different ways. Nearly all people will look at others before being willing to change themselves. Crossbow's and compound bows are an easy thing to look at and point to for exclusion. But there are other ways to limit efficacy. What would happen to success rates if we didn’t allow sittIng water? On drought years, archery success rates are way higher than when it’s abundant. I don’t have strong feelings about any of the weapon types. But I do think that limiting more and more weapon types or groups of hunters is just death my 1,000 cuts. We can keep trimming back what is allowed, but the growing population will just keep pushing the demand. So we need to work together to develop solutions that simultaneously increase wildlife populations and control efficacy.
