Well my uncle and I drew muzzy tags and neither of us had high expectations, but I was able to kill on the last morning of the hunt. We drew in a unit we know pretty well, so we were optimistic that at least one of us would bring home some tamale meat. Overall was a fun hunt but a few challenges and wrenches came up up of course. We’d find bucks way out there and try to come up with a plan, just in time to watch them decide to move out into the unknown. We hunted bucks we knew we’re in an area just to bust em out. Had a family emergency that pulled me off the mountain for a day plus. Last day everything worked out and I got a shot at this guy and now we have our tamales! A much better buck than I was expecting or hoping for. I hope the pics turn out with this post and not sideways.

My good buddy and I went on our annual New Years Day bird hunt today. We started with a nice breakfast at First Watch and then headed out. Got to our first spot around 8:15, dropped a few and moved on to our honey hole. I was able to limit out by 1:00 and he was able to limit out by 3:30. Once again the coveys were huge, at least 20-30 some even more and once you busted them up, you could easily pick em apart. And they were calling/clucking all day again. Also came across this massive Crested Saguaro, these are definitely unique saguaros. And this large owl.

Not loading any extra weight. The trailer is right at 9,500lbs loaded. Just want heavier duty running gear, brakes, tires, wheels for dirt roads and such.

Hey man, Not sure about a lot of these comments but don’t get discouraged by them. Wyoming recently changed their fee structure so special draw went up considerably ($1200)As a result you can draw great units with 3 points that were 5-7 prior. Look at Wyoming game and fish hunt planner and it can fill you in on a lot of great info. With some persistent glassing and warming some boot leather up you can expect to kill a 65-75” buck with 3 points in units 45,46,47,50,51 with plenty of public land options. I suggest going mid October when all the locals are either focused on deer Oct 1-14 or elk Oct 15-31 and you will have the place mostly to yourself. Although certain areas have had some winter kill they bounce back quick and you will see an incredible amount of bucks in any of those units. Good luck sir!

This is what Wyoming has become. Wait 3 years, pay $1,200 in special draw, drive 18 hrs, hike for two more to shoot a 13” buck.

I would suggest looking at the north east units. Most of them take 3 or so points to draw in the regular draw and are guaranteed tags in the special draw. Also you can put the high point tag first choice and the easy one second in the draw and still build points. You are not going to drive around looking over a ton of antelope to choose from but you will definitely have opportunities on multiple bucks. My strategy in those units is look for large sections of land with limited access. If you can find sections that require some good hiking to get into, it will eliminate 95% of the competition. Here is a quick example I found. Hunt area 22, a unit I've never hunted. This big section is over 10 square miles with legal access from only one county road. It's a 2 mile hike just to get into the upper section.

***EDIT - I AM NOT SELLING TAGS, ACCESS ONLY. PLEASE READ BELOW. YOU MUST DRAW THE TAGS YOURSELF*** Hey Everyone, I commented on a post earlier and received about 15 messages about this, so I figured I would make a post. I have a business partner that is a land developer in Wyoming. He has a little over 5,000 acres of private undeveloped land that we have been hunting on. This year our group has decided to go on a different trip and I have been put in charge of selling access to hunt his property. This property is 15-20 min from downtown Casper. This is UNIT 25 which has 75% draw odds with 1 point and is 100% draw odds with zero points if you buy the special tag. Its easy to draw because this unit is primarily private land, and most outfitters have leased the rest of this area. We are going to separate access into 4 weeks and allow only a few people each week so that it is a good hunt for everyone. I will put dates and prices below. Please feel free to message me if you have any interest. We are happy to adjust the group size if you have a couple people that want to go, or if you are a group of two guys and want the place to yourself. This is a great easy hunt, and I will post some pictures below of the three bucks we killed all opening day. October 1-7 - (Two Slots) $1350ea. Slot A - Available Slot B - Available October 7-14 - (Two Slots) $1200ea. Slot A - Pending Funds Slot B - Pending Funds October 15-21 - (three Slots) $1000ea. Slot A - Available Slot B - Available Slot C - Available October 22-28 - (three Slots) $1000ea. Slot A - Available Slot B - Available Slot C - Available

Been trying to figure out the proper way to go about this. Was going to make a different post…but basically, on day 4 I was able capture lightning in a bottle and dig up one of those big Coues bucks. I found this buck on Thursday morning after hunting half of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I found a nucleus of bucks and was just starting to kind of figure it out when I stumbled across this guy. I had no idea what he was when I shot. After passing up a couple medium bucks, I spotted this one at 286 yards, got him in the spotting scope before the morning sun had hit him, and right then he turned toward me. All I saw was “a big brow” and said “YEP YEP YEP! That’ll do.” I got a great surprise when I walked up to him.
