It was a great year for my two kiddos in NM. My 16 year old son had his first ever archery hunts for both deer and elk. He was able to harvest this bull that I called in to 24 yards on September 6th. The following weekend, he was able to make an awesome stalk on a group of 3 bucks and chose this buck out of the group. He pinwheeled him at 34 yards. Next, my 12 year old daughter was able to harvest this coues buck on her youth hunt in the sw corner of NM. My kids have been blessed this season!!!!! Looking forward to hunting season 2025.

I want to publicly commend Hoss50 for walking up to the podium and speaking to the commission. Hoss50 and I arranged to meet there so I could purchase a pistol from him. My wife, a rancher friend and myself drove from SE Arizona to speak to the commission regarding the petition. Hoss50 is not a houndsman, birddog hunter, or any other type of canine hunter. He is a hunter that understands that even if its not his specific outdoor passion or what i refer to as my way of life, we all need to step up and come together on these issues. We are all being attacked!! Hoss50 stepped up to that podium, unprepared as far as i know and did a great job with his 2 minutes of time. Hoss50, Thank you sir!! I was a nervous wreck, I am not a good public speaker, and did not make the best use of my 2 minutes. I was not able to get all of my speech into the time frame. Here is a copy/paste below. Commissioners, thank you for the work you do to up hold the North American Model for Wildlife Conservation. In response to the petition to ban hunting with dogs in Arizona. This petition is an anti hunting agenda, make no mistake with what their end goal is. I am opposed to any changes in the current rules regarding the use of dogs and hunting in Arizona. The petition trys to create a scene depicting animals such as jaguars, wolves, Ocelots are in danger when hounds are used in those areas. This cannot me further from the truth. There is no documented evidence of coyote hunters using dogs that have killed a wolf in inadvertently nor has their been any jaguars or Ocelots killed by houndsmen inadvertently in our state. To say that this COULD occur is like saying the sky could fall at any moment and what are we going to do about it. The use of tracking devices on dogs in no way manipulates or guarantees the outcome of treeing a lion or bear. Tracking devices do however help insure the safety of our dogs. Hounds Risk to Public Safety- There are more dog attacks on a daily basis across the US that are non-hound related encounters than there ever will be with hounds used for hunting. As a matter of fact I would bet my paycheck that if you tallied up the breed of every dog attack in the US for one yr you would be hard pressed to see where a hound was involved. I occasionally encounter people while hunting and the most my hounds want to do is lick them and be petted. Hunting with dogs has been a part of our ancestral roots dating back thousands of years. The partnering and training of a dog is the epidemy of fair chase. If you have never trained a dog to scent trail one or two specific species please do not make accusations you know nothing about. Again the use of tracking devices does not manipulate or increase the probability of catching game. God made man the apex predator- Its sad to see how our society had detached themselves from god, nature and the land. Hunting and specifically hunting with my hounds is not only an ancestral tradition but is a god given right that is being threatened by people that believe its ok to let their kids stare at their phone for hours on end or don’t let little johnny know that someone killed that chicken he is eating for dinner. Where is the outrage in society that allows these people to slowly kill their children? In closing I would like to reach out to the people on the petition and tell them lets do something more productive with your time and money. Lets join forces and remove all the feral donkeys and horses that are killing thousands of acres of habitat and stressing the native wildlife here in Arizona. Lets join forces and fund projects that removes invasive junipers from our public lands. Lets join forces and remove salt cedars from our streams and rivers. Our wildlife is a god given renewable resource, and thanks to hunters, houndsmen, and fisherman is thriving today, don’t infringe on my ancestral heritage and my god given rights.

I burned a bunch of points and drew the first season. I’m trying to put together a plan for my wife and I to come down in late April for a few days. I’m sure we can find some turkeys so I’m not too worried about that, but was more interested in ideas on access and places to stay. Was thinking of staying in Sonoita at a VRBO or something so we could do some winery stuff and make more out of it then just blasting a turkey. Curious if the access in on the east side is decent? Looks like Gardner Canyon road goes in and is a public maintained road? I’m gonna assume there’s probably turkeys in most of those drainages. I haven’t spent any time in 34a though. Seem like a reasonable plan or would we be better staying on south end of Tucson and driving down and hunting Madera Canyon? My wife is tough and can backpack etc, but for turkeys, I figured staying in a nice hotel or VRBO and eating some nice dinners would make it fun for her. The weather and food sucks in ND so when we get away we try to maximize both. Thanks in advance for any of your 2 cents.

Patagonia, take the dirt road that runs next to the high school. Follow it back to where it splits. Go left for about 2 miles , the road will get very rocky and you will end up going threw a wash for about a half mile. Any where around that wash area you see Turkey. We saw 4 big toms together on a horse ride last month.

Not sure if I’m late to the game but I like results I am getting. I have one 6creed with 26” barrel but wanting something a little easier to move around for coyotes and backpacking for coues. So I swapped my 22-250 into another 6creed . barrel is 18” shilen heavy sporter prefit on savage action It shoots the 105 hybrid Berger at 2960 with DD can on the end.. I could not be more pleased with speed and accuracy of this gun as well how fun it is to shoot. It is 6 for 6 so far on game doing the job. Anyone else running shorty barrels ?

The bone marrow is also the beneficial part of bone broth.

My wife and daughter boiled the bones and filtered it. I drank 8 ounces every morning with a collagen tablet for like 5 months straight. I could feel the effects within a few days. (Able to lift my elbow above my shoulder) I did add lemon or lime juice to it to hide the taste

I’ve been shooting vitahvouri for a few years now pretty much exclusively. The decoppering agents they put in there must work as I feel like I get way less fouling with it. Seems to be right in there with others in my Sherman’s as far as velocity with the exception of RL 26 which is impossible to find so as far as I’m concerned doesn’t exist. I have had really good luck finding Vihtavouri powders at scheels so that’s the main reason I’ve moved over to it and have good supplies of 560,565,568 and 570 and use all of them. ES’s seem really well and temp stability seems pretty good in all of them.

See if the manual tells you what circuit that fuse controls and then check plugs and that bit of wiring or component it controls. Something caused it to blow.

Not only should it not be further restricted but trapping on public land should be brought back and predator competitions. I hunt because I love to pull the trigger and see stuff die, not going to lie. Sure I spend days at a time hiking miles and seeing something different every footstep. Camping alone, setting up the tent and camp, marinating meat days ahead to be cooked over a fire followed by too many beers. I've killed plenty of stuff and at 72 hope to keep doing it for another decade at least. Never gets old. Each sunrise and sunset is a blessing to be enjoyed. Up and out an hour before dawn and a few times back to camp hours after dark. For some reason I keep going long after my hunting buds have all moved away. We need more opportunity not less but there is a plethora of it out there if you are motivated. You can literally hunt something every day of the year in Arizona if you have the gumption to do so. If you don't care for some methods then don't participate, but as a sportsman it's every hunters obligation to support it. Don't be silent. First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. —Martin Niemöller

I just like 8+ year old rams, broomed or not. Oopsie....11 years old, too bad it's not broomed. Nothing I hate more than rams over 40 inches long. 9 year old WY ram. Never have shot a ram under 8. If, or maybe I should say when I draw a rocky in AZ, it will also be what I look for, 8+ year old ram. Oh, and I hope shockey kills an old ram too, broomed or not.

A lot of doubters told me I was wasting my time applying for a Montana ram permit the last 43 years too, 20 years as a resident, the past 23 as a NR. Guess what? November 6th, 2024...believe it.

I enjoy hunting AZ actually headed South right now to chase deer. A few picture highlights...AZ has been good to me, and like I say, I really think I'm going to draw a rocky tag. Would be great to get both species of sheep as a NR.
