We don’t need a viable population of jaguars or grizzly bears or velociraptors. Common sense used to span from California to the Carolinas also and that seems to be going extinct.

Wasn’t my best day of shooting, shot 11 but was able to bag 8 and lost 3 in the tall grass. The birds were talkative till about 10:30 and the coveys were good sized. Then while driving down a wash I noticed a nope rope, needless to say he met his maker. Don’t need him in any of the bushes I’m looking for downed birds in.

John is the best. I've been taking my stuff to WGP for 25 years. I see him at his day job 3 times a week or so.

I want to say I’d process the thing free of charge but I’m not sure I’ll be in town at that time! If I was positive about it, I’d do it for nothing and teach her how to process it all.

Seems like this site is more Craigslist than Coues hunting, so here is a coues deer. Glassed up a bigger buck on the next to last day. Made a move and glassed him as soon as he stepped in to the thick stuff and the wait was on. An hour and fifteen minutes later this guy stepped out, 435 yards. Slight adjustment to the turret, one shot and he was down. Shot the buck at 930, got back to the side by side at 315. Craig's Custom Rifles 28 Nosler, 180 Berger Hybrid, shot from the seated position with the Harris bipod.

Wife and I had a few fun days in the heat filling some deer tags to start the season off. Wife killed her buck at 469 yards one shot and dropped him in his tracks. Shot my buck at 250 yards. Nice to have some coues meat in the freezer. We have our 10 year old daughter’s first deer tag to look forward to in 3 weeks which is the one we are truly excited about to get her her first buck

Was lucky enough to have drawn a tag this year with a couple good friends. We knew this deer was in the area. Opening morning a friend got on him, but couldn’t seal the deal and tagged out on another nice buck. That afternoon, @buglethemin and I headed where we thought we could glass him up. Sure enough, some does busted and while trying to find what spooked the does we picked him up at 1100 yards. It was after 5pm and losing daylight so we decided to try and make a play. We were able to loop around and get to 410 yards. 140gr accubond out of 280ai did the trick. Great healthy deer, nice big body. Just over 15” inside spread. Couldn’t be happier. IMG_0213.mov

That is a really good deal! This package also includes the case and the V6 scope and 24" barrel. Plus this is a verified shooter. This whole set up cost me close to $7K. I felt like $3.5K was a pretty good deal. Maybe my Show Low High School math isn't mathing though. haha

Great thread! I have had this exact conversation with friends recently. I always thought as I got older I would have more time to do the things I like to do like camping and hunting. But in reality I have less time. I feel like most of my time is planned for me between my kids and grand kids. And if I am idle I feel like I should be doing something work related. Then add on top of that the fact that it is so hard to draw a decent tag that it is hard to get motivated to even hunt anymore. I recently picked up a bunch of brass to do some reloading and don't even feel like loading it because I will never be able to use it. Hopefully when the grand kids get old enough to hunt it will re-energize me. Only a few years to go.

If I were in Tucson still, I would also be happy to help out anyway I could. Good luck!

Learn to do it yourself, get much better results and save a ton of money. Just finished two deer and it was easy. Just saying.

First time running those Faulkens for me. So far, they have handled everything VERY WELL! That's compared to 30 + years of BFG ATs, Big-O Bigfoots, Nitto Ridge Grapplers, and more.

I don't know anything about that hunt but Adam is a beast and if anyone can pull it off riding solo he is the guy. How'd your boys do as far as quality? Is this a trophy hunt so to speak or kill whatever you see?
