2 pointsSome of you guys are too much. Why in the F do you care about a Game warden getting a tag in the unit he patrols? Odds are he might get 2 maybe 3 premium tags in his unit if he has a long career. Extreme jealousy I suppose. They make peanuts for salary, the least they can do is get a good hunt in every so often. 1 guy is not going to ruin your hunt unless you are after 1 animal and 1 animal only and it is also the one he is after......

1 pointI have a beautiful Ruger M77 25-06 for sale. This gun is a Coues hunters dream- as long as you like packing a heavier rifle that is haha!! But she sure is stable for those long shots! This old girl is almost immaculate, there are a few safe marks on the bolt side of the stock. But as you can see in the pics it has been well taken care of. Unknown round count, but I don’t think it could be much by the looks of her. The bluing is perfect, heavy varmint barrel contour and bore is clean and bright. Asking $700. Located in East Mesa, work in south Chandler.

1 pointI made mine out of aluminum! Cheaper than a stock one. Bought a sheet at Industrial Metal and had it cut and bent at Get Bent..... 45 on front and 90 on back and snipped the front corners at 45! Screwed it down to the roof with self tappers. You can stand on it.....wont rust... Good Luck

1 pointThere you go, something wrong with that .287 bushing. I've seen that before with Hornaday. Hornady and the word "precision" is an oxy-moron, LOL! Enjoy your new founded reloading experience.

1 pointWell im frustrated. Here we go. head to another area and show up and soon as i open door about 4 elk were bugling. Was still very early another 45 min till light. We chill for a bit the 20 min before light we load up. Elk still talking but u can tell they gonna head to this big hill to bed. So we get in between. We focus on this one bull that was closest. We get over right in front of him and set up. Hes coming in. U can barely see now and my son says he can see his pins. Another bugle. Perfect, lets get it on. Bugle and coming right at us. There is a small little decline in front of us and hes right on it. We r in a small open area where hes headed. One more bugle and now buck fever is here cause its going down. Well!!!!! Not another bugle from him and after about 2 min im like wtf!! We head that way and gone.. Long gone. Not another bugle from him or any other elk. They all shut up. Couldnt get on them again. back out andnno where they r going so we jumped in tacoma and drover to the south side of the hill where they will bed on the north side. We head up this hill above 75 ft from top. We slow creep to where they bed and just chill about 30’min. Boom. We see a bull and 3 cows walking slow. We hang out about 30 Min and see what they do. We lose them. Chit!! Well a few of u on here said try some cold calling and get his attention if still there. Well i threw a few soft cow calls and u would think there was an atom bomb that went off. They ran faster than u could believe. Hahahaha. back to drawing board. I have no problem getting on elk every day. Even decent bulls. Just cant seal it. Never been stumped like this. Will try some new chit this pm.

1 pointLooks like you are good to go with the .286 bushing. The reason I asked about the O.D. is based on experience with a Redding FL Bushing Die for my .308. That die with thin walled .308 WW brass would size well below the marked bushing diameter. I believe that was due to sizing over .010" in one pass. Redding cautions not to try over .004" in one step if I recall correctly. Good luck with your reloading endeavors!

1 pointI went out shooting my 45-70 open sights 100 yards. If you're near Apache Junction check out AJI, they have a few 45-70's from time to time.

1 pointThis was long read , but a learning one . Note to myself , if I have a hunting tag call AZFG turn myself in because I found out I flew over my unit or a year long OTC unit , during a commercial business flight . I broke the law
-
1 pointSo you're gonna say leaving your tag to let them finish off someone else's animal and then tagging it with their tag is perfectly legal? Is that you Shawn? Shawns civil case went before an administrative judge because the ones in charge in Pinetop didn't follow protocol in punishing Wagner. They did all they could to ensure Shawn never went before a criminal judge and it backfired on them when they finally decided they needed to do something to him. The question of whether he was guilty of a crime was pretty clear, it just never made it that far because everyone involved were wardens. Ars 17-340 (A)(5) is pretty clear. The commission may revoke someone's license if: Knowingly allowing another person to use the person’s big game tag. Just because an administrative judge found that his rights were violated doesn't mean he didn't break the law.

1 pointWell my oldest son was drawn 3 yrs ago for 6A bull and couldn’t connect. He said if I were to get drawn again his tag would get filled, well he is a man of his word. Friday was a very slow day. Saw nothing. Saturday morning was different. Had a shot at 20 yds when this bull came in, unfortunately missed as it busted us. He was in awe to see an animal that large that close to him. He was shaking so much, I think I was kind of giggling watching him hold his bow. Chased that herd all morning, but cold never get another shot. Sunday went to the same spot and chased a herd all around, shot at a massive 6x, put his pin on 60 yd and shot over its back, after we ranged the tree it was standing next to it was 50 yds. He was bummed. Monday went to a new spot, were on bulls in the morning but not close enough. That evening got on 2 more bulls and was able to fling an arrow at 30 yds but hit a tree. Tuesday morning walked up to a small ravine and a huge herd was walking up to us, we stopped. He drew his bow back and out walked this spiker, before I could say anything about the 4x behind it he let it rip. It happened so fast I didn’t know what to do except ask, which one did you hit? He said the spike. We found blood immediately and found the bull piled up between 2 trees. High 5’s and hooting and hollering. As we were cleaning he asked I want to I find my arrow, I said how you shot it, it may still be in him, he said no way…..well sure as heck it was lodged right in him in the body cavity completely buried. 1st bull down for him and our whole family. Off to Casey’s and a nice lunch somewhere in Flag.

1 pointI had a lengthy discussion with a AZGFD officer at my sons field day. I explained the frustration with "grey area" stuff. He went on to explain spirit of the law, officer discretion etc. I had to explain to him that his job was law enforcement, not law interpretation. To the point that he asked me (in a condescending tone) of I was an attorney. I said "no, but I've been in law enforcement since you were drinking chocolate milk out of a Transformers lunchbox". We chuckled and found common ground.

1 pointIMG_7733.mov Well no elk. Had turkeys come in at each tank on way back my kids saw a giant elk. Probably biggest they seen in person. 7x7 with about 75 cows. About a 375 bull. Just a freak. Lets see what tomorrow brings.
