I just got back from a long weekend in Iowa seeing family that I haven't seen in a long time. Long story short, my aunt (dad's oldest of his two younger sisters) has cancer again after 22 years of remission and, because of the treatment level last time, can't have treatment this time. As she says "I'm ready to go be with Jesus and my Buddy.". Her husband, my Uncle Bud, passed away 10 years ago this October. She asked me to come back and see her down in Pleasantville before things get bad with the cancer. I stayed at my best friend's house with his family in West DesMoines the whole time. He and I have known each other since we were 2 years old. We started at the babysitter together (my great aunt/grandma's sister), wen to preschool, elementary, junior high, high school, and college together. All the perks of growing up in small town in Iowa. After visiting my aunt and a handful of other family members from my dad's side, Jeff and I took off to a local farm pond he has access to near Winterset. Of course, I had to take my fly rod back with me. We hit the pond Friday night and Saturday. I caught two bass Friday night on poppers. The first one was my favorite because it was a popper tied up by my son, Jacob. I ended up losing that in a tree (placed a new order with Jacob on the drive home), tied on a store-bought popper, and caught a second bass. Jeff didn't want to try the fly rod, so he was hitting his spin gear. He caught a nice black crappie and "future champion" bass on a weedless spoon/grubtail combo before I convinced him to switch to topwater action with a floating Rapala. Jeff: "topwater never works here!". Me: "Bass are bass, no matter the pond, and topwater always works in the evening. Trust me." He switched and landed a 4-lb beautiful largemouth. We went back Saturday for a couple of hours before dinner with his family and we each caught a "future champion" on topwater. He is now going to expand his topwater arsenal and we're working on our next adventure. I wish I knew why these pictures upload wonky/upside down/sideways, but at least his Friday night pond monster is normal. I'm also realizing I need to convince my wife to let me get a 7-wt fly rod/reel for bass. Fingers crossed on that one I'm hoping to not have to tell her my 8wt bonefish rod will work for bass so I can get the 7wt! First bass of the trip, on a popper tied by Jacob Jeff's first bass of the trip, on a weedless spoon/grubtail combo. Jeff's pond beast on topwater. She pulled off two tail dances before being landed. My last fish, on a topwater Rapala Saturday night.

All you guys selling your 12s and 15s aren't going to like it, but the market became saturated with used binos about 5 minutes after the announcement. You are going to need to bring your prices down if you want to move your binos anytime soon. You aren't likely going to get what you could have a week ago.

Last year on my Colorado trip I caught a 26" 10 lb brown trout on the fly, I went back this year thinking I would end up disappointed and never top that fish... but God is good! caught this almost identical 26" 10 lb Rainbow on the fly, 100 ft from where I caught the big brown last year! I need to give full credit to my nephew who is a fly fishing guide in Colorado. If any of you are looking for a great guide and trip, message me and I'll get you in touch with him.

Great little trailer, would make a good trailer for a side by side or atv to get gear in and out of the backcountry! All lights work, registered with title, new tires plus spare

All the assumptions of why people are selling 15’s is hilarious. I posted a pair cause I have multiples and I’m constantly changing out my glass. I had no clue NL 14’s were coming out and even if I did at 4K out the door is enough for me to wait and get a used pair after the hype is over.

Do you leave your suppressor on the barrel or take it off when cleaning?

Don't listen to DM21. He knows nothing of how markets work. Prices are only going to go lower since it's a depreciating asset so sell, sell, sell!!!! 🤣 Eddie

That’s interesting because I spoke with one of their sales rep/engineer a couple years back. I asked him about a 15x pure model and he stated that it wasn’t possible due to the prism design. The pure type prisms would be to large at 15x. I guess they figured out a solution. Good news for us but bad news for our wallets.

I have looked into it some, and it is very expensive and you have to go to Mexico to get the good stuff. Like $25k for treatment. I have had a torn labrum since 2001. I just deal with it. I finally had an Ortho diagnose it about 5yrs ago when i was having a knee scoped. The doctor basically told me to wait til I mess something else and he will fix it all. Just roll it til I can't deal with it anymore since it has been 20 years since the injury. I hear Rogan talk about BPC157 for tendon/ligament healing. That might be worth a look, and have your testosterone levels checked. If they are low, a Test and BPC157 regimen might help heal them. Testosterone isn't a cure all, but if you are low it can help improve life and healing. It has helped me. I have had low Test since I was in my late 20s. Once I was done having kids I started TRT and it helps.

I'll say it again. The 3 biggest lies in the outdoor world are the person rating on a tent, the velocity on a box of ammo, and the temp rating on a sleeping bag!

Idaho is gonna be 1:150+ odds as well. Canada you’re gonna be into it for $70-100k before it’s all said and done to shoot a ram that you are gonna pray is legal while you’re hiking up to it. I’d be a low tier gov tag long before I’d waste that kinda cash in Canada.

30b is a bit underrated, not a lot but still is a bit. Although there is some access issues it's a big unit, there's plenty of country and enough good bucks to have a fun hunt. My kid killed a 93-94 last year and I've killed a 97 and a 105+ gross there so studs can happen. Beautiful country too. To be fair I have home field advantage but if you put in the work.... you can kill there. You will even see some coues when you are expecting to see muleys. Good luck man and most importantly have fun!
