I am designing some custom spotter cases and am looking for some locals to get measurements for different models. I can get measurements in about 30-45 minutes. If you help me out I will make one for you no cost, your choice in colors I have. If you bring your tripod, I will make you a sleeve as well. This is the prototype for my Kowa 554. I am in Chandler/Gilbert area. PM your cell phone and what spotter/tripod you have. Thanks.

I just got back from a long weekend in Iowa seeing family that I haven't seen in a long time. Long story short, my aunt (dad's oldest of his two younger sisters) has cancer again after 22 years of remission and, because of the treatment level last time, can't have treatment this time. As she says "I'm ready to go be with Jesus and my Buddy.". Her husband, my Uncle Bud, passed away 10 years ago this October. She asked me to come back and see her down in Pleasantville before things get bad with the cancer. I stayed at my best friend's house with his family in West DesMoines the whole time. He and I have known each other since we were 2 years old. We started at the babysitter together (my great aunt/grandma's sister), wen to preschool, elementary, junior high, high school, and college together. All the perks of growing up in small town in Iowa. After visiting my aunt and a handful of other family members from my dad's side, Jeff and I took off to a local farm pond he has access to near Winterset. Of course, I had to take my fly rod back with me. We hit the pond Friday night and Saturday. I caught two bass Friday night on poppers. The first one was my favorite because it was a popper tied up by my son, Jacob. I ended up losing that in a tree (placed a new order with Jacob on the drive home), tied on a store-bought popper, and caught a second bass. Jeff didn't want to try the fly rod, so he was hitting his spin gear. He caught a nice black crappie and "future champion" bass on a weedless spoon/grubtail combo before I convinced him to switch to topwater action with a floating Rapala. Jeff: "topwater never works here!". Me: "Bass are bass, no matter the pond, and topwater always works in the evening. Trust me." He switched and landed a 4-lb beautiful largemouth. We went back Saturday for a couple of hours before dinner with his family and we each caught a "future champion" on topwater. He is now going to expand his topwater arsenal and we're working on our next adventure. I wish I knew why these pictures upload wonky/upside down/sideways, but at least his Friday night pond monster is normal. I'm also realizing I need to convince my wife to let me get a 7-wt fly rod/reel for bass. Fingers crossed on that one I'm hoping to not have to tell her my 8wt bonefish rod will work for bass so I can get the 7wt! First bass of the trip, on a popper tied by Jacob Jeff's first bass of the trip, on a weedless spoon/grubtail combo. Jeff's pond beast on topwater. She pulled off two tail dances before being landed. My last fish, on a topwater Rapala Saturday night.

My son name is Dylan. He just graduated High School but is a motivated hard working guy. Hes 6 ft 210 strong guy. Several can vouch for him on here and hopefully they chime in. For the past 2 years while playing Baseball and school he started his own paver and turf business. Does good work but in AZ its hard to compete since so many people do it here, and people don't trust young kids. He also does monthly landscape if any of you guys interested. He's on the west side in Waddell/Surprise. The reason I'm posting is last night he said Dad, I need steady work. His skills are in what I mentioned above plus sprinklers, but he's willing to look into any field. He's young and I'm hoping some of you guys on here have a beginning position into something new. Could be electrical, mining, car sales, plumbing, farming, etc... Hoping to get him started in a career. If you guys have anything shoot me a message and I will put you in contact with him. He has a 4x4 truck to get to work. Thanks fellas. Some pics of his work and the deer pic is last weekend.

The stud is actually something that outdoorsman has to install. They press it in. Not something that can sold separately.

Prayers to you and your family. As for doing raffles there's not much to it . I do the kids giveaway and the only thing I got was to make sure to have the gun transferred thru a dealer. It absolutely makes sure your doing everything on the right path. Healeys is who has done the transfer stuff for me . It's $50 bucks a transfer . As for the draw it's up to you . I try and make it as obvious and absolutely as transparent as I can so people see the process for themselves. A short video goes along way. Good luck with your raffle and prayers !

Prayers for your sister in law and her family! Don’t know how to get that set up but I’ll ask a couple guys at work that held raffles. Let me know if you need help with accessories to go with the raffle or anything to add to it. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

I don't remember who all recommended Bravo Americano in Globe but we made time to eat there on our way thru and it was amazing. We tried 4 pizzas and a pasta, everything was really good and had great flavor. We will definitely go back when we pass thru and it is during business hours, we usually travel thru there after they are closed for the day.

Keep in mind the burden of proof. It falls to the state, and they have to prove that you had intent to use it for illegal activity. I doubt anyone is going to prosecute if you have no rifle, no bow, and just a handgun for personal defense on your person.

bojangles, unfortunately that buck was taken after the cut-off date for this particular biennial awards banquet. Award competitions run from July 1 of even numbered years to June 30 of even numbered years. For this banquet, animals entered will be celebrated for those taken from 7/01/21 through 6/30/23. I would expect him to very likely be at the next awards banquet in two years, where there's a very good chance he will be honored as the new state record velvet non-typical Coues. For those that have taken large animals, I encourage you to contact an official measurer as soon as possible to get it (them) entered. The next (7th) edition of the bowhunting record book is being worked on now and is planned for release this next spring at the Pope and Young International Convention in Glendale, AZ in April, 2025. The book will be sent to print later this year. AND DON'T FORGET THE ARIZONA BOWHUNTERS ASSOC./BOWHUNTING IN ARIZONA banquet is tonight in Mesa! See previous posts for payment information, or there will likely be some tickets available at the door. Official Measurers Contact List

This, and years of hyperinflation are starting to impact people’s financial situations and they can’t justify the 4K wrapped up in a piece of equipment they rarely use.

I think some people are selling them to go with the twin STC’s. I had a BTX and forced myself to use it for 2 seasons. Never got used to it.
  23. 1 point
IMO the people selling them don’t use them enough to justify being out $4k+… I bet the other half need some money and it’s a quick way to get $4k back. They are nice but hard to justify for a lot of people cause most guys can still kill plenty with a good pair of 15s. But If you have got the money I say get you a BTX!
