Planned a trip with my buddy to do some shed hunting and turkey for a few and got it done first morning here. Have not been here in a while and it was good to be back in some country i had not seen for a bit. Still here tell tursday and the birds we got into have really been the only thing we could find except one distant gobbler. Roosted two toms first evening here and got on them in morning. First light Nd they were gobbling in the trees. They fly down and go right to the hen and i thought it was over. We did a circle and got a hen to fire up and she walked the other two hens in with the two gobblers. The one tom strutted back and forth gobbling spitting and drumming at 20 yards not giving me a shot for what seemed like ten minutes while the other stayed a little back. All while then hen circle and puffed up and started fighting a little getting the gobblers fired up. They started to move a right and the tom that was a little back stepped out at ten yards and i dropped him. Great way to start the trip! Been trying to find another bird and we have been shed hunting! Just thought i would share sense i was asking how it was going in New Mexico.

I've seen many men that couldn't keep it together when an opportunity came at a monster buck. Imagine the buck shooting back.

Selling my X Macro Comp, comes with EPS Carry and TLR-7A. Also comes with Tenicor Holster. Perfect EDC Ready to go. Maybe 600 rounds through it. Only selling because I compete in Carry Optics with a Glock 47 and have been EDC that. Maybe trade towards Niteforce LPVO or Leupold MK6 MK8 or MK5 3.6-18 Located in Gilbert, $1100

I think some people are selling them to go with the twin STC’s. I had a BTX and forced myself to use it for 2 seasons. Never got used to it.

This is my carry piece even when out in the hills. Model 340PD. Had a trigger job done,. It's super light and compact while very manageable even when shooting .357 rounds.

IMO the people selling them don’t use them enough to justify being out $4k+… I bet the other half need some money and it’s a quick way to get $4k back. They are nice but hard to justify for a lot of people cause most guys can still kill plenty with a good pair of 15s. But If you have got the money I say get you a BTX!

They take some getting used to. Head sits at an awkward angle, eye relief is touchy, but they are awesome to look through!

Me and my wife had a situation a dozen years ago that tested both of our “keep it together when the crap hits the fan” levels and from that point on she hasn’t touched any of my semi autos. She has gotten really good with a 6” GP 100 357 loaded with 38s. Probably most of us guys could keep it together mentally in a heated situation but the little ladies? IDK I’m just glad my wife chose the revolver. She can always turn it into a hammer when empty!

The dealer. But look at the power feed from the fuse block to the battery. The terminal there loves to break, corrode, come loose on that generation at the terminal under the cover.

Whatever she decides to go with she needs to become familiar with to the point where it’s all natural.

I agree to a point. I see way too many carry revolvers that get neglected and won't function. Its easy to forget about if your wife is carrying it but they need to be cleaned even if they aren't being shot. If they get thrown in a purse all kinds of stuff can get in there and gunk things up. As far as being more simple to operate I 100% agree.

Which tag did you draw? The first or second rifle? Great hunt, but quality has declined over the last 10 years. Most herd bulls are 300 to 330 like most units. There’s always some really good ones though. I wouldn’t pass anything in the 350 range. I killed a 385 with my bow in 16 a a decade ago. Even then 300 to 330 was your likely herd bull sighting. I’d be over near the unit 23 boundary for the best bulls. If you have the second hunt I would shift your expectations down around 20 inches over the first hunt. Good luck man. 🤙
