Took my boy and the dog, met up with a couple of friends and the pigeon shooting did not disappoint! Scooby, the black lab is a MONSTER. Scooch my Airedale got a heck of a work out. We worked on not retrieving until released. She did great. The boy did more shooting than hitting, but he had a blast! Great day over all and still as much fun as you can have with your pants on!

Planned a trip with my buddy to do some shed hunting and turkey for a few and got it done first morning here. Have not been here in a while and it was good to be back in some country i had not seen for a bit. Still here tell tursday and the birds we got into have really been the only thing we could find except one distant gobbler. Roosted two toms first evening here and got on them in morning. First light Nd they were gobbling in the trees. They fly down and go right to the hen and i thought it was over. We did a circle and got a hen to fire up and she walked the other two hens in with the two gobblers. The one tom strutted back and forth gobbling spitting and drumming at 20 yards not giving me a shot for what seemed like ten minutes while the other stayed a little back. All while then hen circle and puffed up and started fighting a little getting the gobblers fired up. They started to move a right and the tom that was a little back stepped out at ten yards and i dropped him. Great way to start the trip! Been trying to find another bird and we have been shed hunting! Just thought i would share sense i was asking how it was going in New Mexico.

My favorite is the antelope in the pines! We don’t see them often so always fun encounter! We have been in this area multiple times over the last four years and i am positive walked within ten feet of it 😩! Beautiful weather, water running, a few patches of snow and I wasn’t fast enough to get pictures of the turkey we saw!!

Great deal, spent about 8 days in my tent during a late 12AW hunt 4 years ago running the small one/long hose and the tent temps were very comfortable. GLWS

This is great advice. You definitely want the tongue weight or your trailer will sway back and forth. It is dangerous like Bigtub is saying and it heats your trailer tires up which will cause all kinds of problems. If there is any sway at all you need to make adjustments. Typically increasing tongue weight corrects it. A couple of other things to consider are not to run your trailer tires for more than 5 years. If the date is 2019 or older(listed on the sidewall) I would replace them. They can have lots of tread on them but the AZ heat is very hard on tires and it isn’t worth ruining your weekend or worse by running tires that are weather cracked and can fail anytime. My guess is that your 5x10 trailer is a single axle, so a couple of new tires will run you a couple of hundred bucks and you will be set for 4-5 years. Trailer tires or LT tires will be just fine for you. Keep them inflated to max or close to max pressure and either should give you good service. Limit your speeds to whatever the tires are rated for (typically listed on the sidewall as well)and you will avoid lots of headaches on your trips. Enjoy your side by side and have fun!

Thanks for the heads up 👍

Since when do AZ Turkeys have spurs? All the birds I have killed here and in Sonora were maybe 3/4 of an inch. I think spurs are a myth. LOL

My recommendation would be Bartlett Lake, not too far from Pleasant. Not a lot of size in that lake but every time I have gone we have caught quite a bit of fish, perfect for the youngsters.

I deer hunted that unit in 2018. Saw elk daily. The oldest bull I have ever seen was in that unit. Probably only scored low 300s he was so past his prime. Had a lot of gray hair. Saw a good bull every other day during the time we spent up there scouting and hunting. A guide could really be worth it in some spots we saw bulls. We did see mexican wolves so not sure how they have affected patterns of elk in the last 6 years. Deer numbers were low due to a large population of mtn lions. Found lots of lion kills. Elk numbers were still good when I was there.

Big Browns (Adam) recently did these two for me. They came out great! He did quality work and was responsive and looked for ways to make the transaction convenient.
