I've seen a few whitetail on the edges of sheep country in recent years. Always trying to hunt outside the box, I decided go in with intent to fill my '23 archery tag or get my butt handed to me and let go of the idea the terrain is worth hunting. Yesterday, I didn't even get to glass the more predictable deer country as a small 3x3 coues was spotted in the gentliest terrain on the sheepy side of the mountain. He bedded down at 730am right in the open. I decided to get aggressive under the cover of rain. I turned 1000 yards into 66 yards in 30 minutes and picked the perfect rock outcropping to pop out around. 20231222_082625.mp4 The rain had scent locked down and while I was comfortable to not be busted immediately, 60 yards is my coues limit and my gut told me this deer was not going to get up and feed towards me and the rock ledges. Turning 66 into 60 without cover took an hour and a ton of patience and frozen moments as he would snap his head in my direction. Finally, at 61 yards, he got up and as he shook off a gallon of water, I drew and released an arrow that went lower than I'd of liked. The soaking wet drop away felt significantly slowed my arrow prior to release. Thank goodness for the Lumenocks helping me understand this quickly and when he stopped at 100 yards to understand what hit him, I put my slider on 130 and put him down hard. I ran up and put another one in him as quickly as possible. Not the greatest part of the story but one of my favorite things about this forum is reading lessons learned. With everything soaking wet, this will go down as one of my heaviest pack outs of all time, in sheep country!

This is where I've met a lot of the members, but also some on Campfire. There are those who will see it here and not elsewhere. Early because it's Christmas Eve and tomorrow I'll be unavailable and I wanted to give my best to everyone for tomorrow, as well as tonight.

That’s the smart thing to do but sometimes you just can’t let them get one over! 25 years ago I had a customer owed $3500 on a completed landscape and he ghosted me for a month. Finally I took 3 guys over to his place and started pulling queen palms out and putting them in the trailer. He came running out with his check book claiming he’d been out of town. Funny thing was I knocked on the door prior to letting the games begin and nada. Took us a couple hours to put the yard back together and clean it up! 😂 Sure made me feel better though!!

I’m selling a slightly used Labradar that also comes with the padded carrying case and the ladradar small shooting tripod. I have also installed a crosshair on the top so you can line up the LabRadar with your target down range. $450 obo for everything Text 602-758-5535

Christmas butterflies were an absolute hit with my nieces, my sister and brother-in-law loved the craftsmanship! Thanks for the memories, best of luck to your son on his hunt. Andrew

Yes that's what I meant. Go take the parts back off of the vehicle.... but he can actually put a mechanics lien on a vehicle in Arizona... if he has the vin and registered owners' information. Depending on the dollar amount it might be worth it. I can ask a buddy, but he might have to fill out a police report as well.

You need to get creative, I owned a tool truck. Did lot's of things to collect money. Have someone start calling him and bugging the shoot out of him saying your with collections. Mail him invoices with threatening high interest penalties if not paid by a certain date. Don't let him get away...

I didn't get to put it to use, but when I went out in January archery deer hunting I wrapped some duct tape around a sharpie and threw it in my pack. I figured I could use that if I harvested a deer. I really like the e-tag option. For anyone who is curious, here's a few pictures of what it looks like on the app.

AZ OTC should only be for residents. NR should have to draw at a VERY limited tag allocation. The mandatory harvest reporting should be for across the board, not just for archery hunters. How can we not mandatory harvest report for unit x that has 750 rifle deer tags for the general hunt?? That's a ton of lost data. The quota system is arbitrary. I hunt areas within a unit that Is already closed that I don't see people in. Multiple bucks running that country right now. I may get strung up on the forum gallows here for this next one but I would love to see a ruling put in place for only harvesting one buck during the archery deer rut hunts. Not the calendar year deal we currently have where you can kill 2 bucks. One in December and one in January when the year rolls over.

Were not complaining that your to successful, we are complaining because there's is just to many people hunting. we have seen the deterioration of hunting in AZ as a direct result of the numbers of people that come here to hunt. Nobody got screwed either, if I was driving 1300 miles to hunt I would have done some kind of research before I left months in advance. I wish they would only allow 500 non resident tags and have a separate quota limit for non residents.

I had your same problem last year. I took off my shoes to stalk the coues I ended up shooting, but felt lucky I didn't have feet full of cactus, as I was in cholla and prickly pair patches during the stalk. So I asked my wife to sew me some "custom" quick removable sneaky feet. Set me back about $8. They have a sole of 4 layers of fleece, and the tabs on the side to lace them to the shoe. Takes about 30 seconds to put them on or take them off. I have used them so much, they are almost worn out. Stalked to 20 yards from a 90 incher last week until the doe he was tending busted me. Much nicer than having to trek back in socks to where you dropped off your boots.
