3 pointsBobcat I took this weekend.Didn't call it. Spotted it in the open while out looking for a place to make a stand. Shot it at 187 yards. Would have preferred to call it in but couldn't pass up the opportunity. Spotted it from the location in the second picture. Second one I've taken this year. The first one was called in.

It was one of the best experiences ever, from scouting to the time laying hands on my ram. Memorable to say the least especially with just my nephew, grand nephew and I getting I done. So quick a run down… ram was aged at 8, but with the gnarly bases G&F said he could be 9+ but couldn’t tell for sure. Ram scored 174. One circumference landed in the bad spot in his horn which kept him from scoring higher but that just adds great character to the ram. His good side measures 91”. Oh in the last pic with grand nephew, the road that goes through the saddle, that saddle is where I shot from Brian

1 pointMy wife and I got tags together this year for the same hunt for the first time. We were real excited for this hunt, more than usual. Opening day I spotted her buck 2100 yards out and figured he was a mid 80’s buck. We kept an eye on him every 5 minutes to see where he beds down. While keeping tabs on him we saw 10 other bucks but nothing worth chasing after. Once her buck bedded down under a tree, we marked the spot and started the stalk. We snuck into 330 yards and the rest is history. The buck had a bigger body than we thought and scored right at 90. We had a long pack-out back to the ranger and feeling the aches and soreness today. Over the next few days we looked over 30 bucks or so. I was looking for a 4+ year old buck (secretly trying to beat my wifes buck!) I didn’t have any luck. Monday morning came and I spotted a big 2x2 buck that we have seen maybe 8 times and never gave chase to him. He bedded down during grey light and the wife and I took off. We snuck into 380 yards and waited about an hour for him to stand up and the hunt was done. My buddy Christian showed up to help out with the morning Monday hunt, he carried out some weight which was nice! Thanks amigo! Overall deer movement was phenomenal even with the full moon. The freezer is full with our bucks and my sons junior buck. We’ll definitely put in together again next year.

1 pointMy nephew 16 years old, has been anxious to hunt since he was 10. He’s nonresident as my sister, his mom, moved from Tucson to the northwest about 20 years ago. Anyway she finally agreed based on hunt dates, school and such to let him put in for deer in az. He drew a tag! Everyone’s excited, but, a few weeks before the hunt my sister says she may not let him go due to grades. “We” myself, my uncle and my brother are disappointed in this information of course, but we understand. I told my sister if he’s not gonna make the hunt he needs to turn his tag back in so another jr can use it. My nephew worked hard studied took tests and quizzes and brought his grades all up to A’s and B’s! Green light! Day one windy as shoot. We find deer but the only bucks ( two spikes) were way off and disappeared quickly. day two rainy in the am. We work our way to a good spot after waiting for the rain to pass by mostly. We found a big fork not long after getting to our spot. My mindset was conditions are awesome let’s let things start moving. My nephew (rooster) of course was ready to stalk. So we stalked, a fork that was 550 yards was now at 217. Roosters on a boulder and steady but the buck was mostly behind a thick ocatilla. I tell him don’t shoot through that ocatilla but if you have a shot take it. He says “I’m not comfortable with this shot”. I say ok just wait. Well buck takes a few steps and is gone. Coues deer for ya. Day three head out, find a good spot, after a short time other hunters come in to the end of the canyon we’re glassing. A half our or so goes by and they move on. I’m thinking they might push something to us so we watch and wait but nothing comes. We decide to move as well. While we’re moving, we hear a shot. Those other hunters kill one. We watch for a bit as they find their kill as well as looking for something that might be heading our way. After what we felt was long enough we decided it’s time to get to our next spot. After a few minutes we glass a buck, close, bedded in the shade. We tell rooster sneak up and get on that boulder. He does, just in time! The buck we glassed, along with another smaller buck that we didn’t see, got up and started moving out. They paused for just a second and the shot rang out. Perfect shot placement put him down in his tracks at 125 yards. I was so impressed and to be honest relieved that we didn’t have to track a wounded deer.

1 pointWhy tough to compete, great works sells its self, and bad work doesn't. My electrical license is a joke, money grab by registra and doent really protect anyone, a bunch of bank rupt contractors telling you how to run your business, haha. Tell him to be a man of his word, complete every project and never forget who he is doing it for, the customer. He's gonna go far.

1 pointDon't you just love it when people have nothing better to do with their lives than to crap on other people's posts?

1 pointLoaded 3 test rounds with h4350 and the eldx 40.5. 41. 41.5 all 3 shot big holes. Slight pressure signs at 41.5 and only an average of 15 fps faster so stuck to the 41 gr at .005 off. 2660 fps average 22” barrel

1 pointI had pretty good results using a max load of H-4350. I had one rifle that shot IMR-4350 a tad better than the H.

1 pointLots of scouting, long drives, and it all came together opening morning. We found several groups of sheep and 7 rams. My buddy got it done with 1 shot at 392yds. When I glassed him up I knew we was a shooter. He is a 9yo ram.

1 pointWell my daughters and my elk cow hunt was unsuccessful on filling tags so I was on a mission to put meat in the freezer. Wasn’t real happy with the full moon conditions we were experiencing but knew an area that held decent deer. Opening morning I had hopes of finding the bruiser that has been eluding me for the past 3 yrs, but at 6:15 two bucks decide to show up on an opposite hill. For the next 20 minutes I’m frantically glassing a canyon where the bruiser likes to hangout…..nothing. I then start thinking how I want some meat in the freezer again. I range the (2) bucks at 410yds, but still keep looking at the canyon….nothing. I get set up and hem and haw for the next 5 minutes and decide to send lead. I knew the next few days were going get super windy and finding deer under the moon and wind conditions was going to get tougher each day along with normal pressure. So I decided it’s go time!!!! 1st shot was a tad low, adjusted scope and 2nd shot was spot on. Not my biggest or smallest, but meat in the freezer. Just a measly 2 mile hike out but worth every bit of it. This deer had an absolutely beautiful coat on it. We filled 2 out of 3 tags with the hunting party I was with.
