Lots of scouting, long drives, and it all came together opening morning. We found several groups of sheep and 7 rams. My buddy got it done with 1 shot at 392yds. When I glassed him up I knew we was a shooter. He is a 9yo ram.

Not bad for 75 !! One shot and done. Story to follow.

Isnt this basically what happens on the Big B ranch in unit 10 and the Baca Float in unit 18B for otc deer hunts and limit opp elk hunts?

I know we are right before the holiday and mid-season on a bunch of hunts, but there is an issue in Unit 3A that needs immediate attention. Below is a picture of the hunt recommendations for 2024 Elk and Antelope. Included in the recommendations is a modification to the boundary description for 3A that changes the hunts or area for draw tags to that portion of the unit within the Apache Sitgreaves NF. The remainder of the unit was converted to OTC at the insistence of the ranchers in the area. With the OTC designation, the Elkins ranch has entered into an exclusive access agreement with an outfitter who is selling OTC hunts for $10k. This privatization of hunting and commercialization of a public resource is not in line with the North American Model and is a disservice to all hunters. Please submit a comment to AZGFD to close elk hunting in the Zeniff hunt area until these ranches create a public access agreement similar to what other ranches in the state have done. Hey Congrats

This is my dad's friend Aaron he's a Texas boy and married to my dad's old high school girlfriend. Aaron lives in Texas and put in for 40 years in Oklahoma for elk to never get a tag. This guy has a broken back and shattered a leg from falling outta a treestand. So getting around is not easy. Sat every day from the opener till yesterday . It was catching up to him so he stayed back in the morning. I went to see how he was at lunch and took him in to his spot. Had 4 bulls come in with just one cow . He made a great shot and she was rocking. The big bull still tried to hit it as she was clearing the dam for the water hole . Funny stuff! We saw turkey, deer,and elk come in .To all the 6a road hunters I say keep quiet and listen and watch and perseverance pays off .

Well my daughters and my elk cow hunt was unsuccessful on filling tags so I was on a mission to put meat in the freezer. Wasn’t real happy with the full moon conditions we were experiencing but knew an area that held decent deer. Opening morning I had hopes of finding the bruiser that has been eluding me for the past 3 yrs, but at 6:15 two bucks decide to show up on an opposite hill. For the next 20 minutes I’m frantically glassing a canyon where the bruiser likes to hangout…..nothing. I then start thinking how I want some meat in the freezer again. I range the (2) bucks at 410yds, but still keep looking at the canyon….nothing. I get set up and hem and haw for the next 5 minutes and decide to send lead. I knew the next few days were going get super windy and finding deer under the moon and wind conditions was going to get tougher each day along with normal pressure. So I decided it’s go time!!!! 1st shot was a tad low, adjusted scope and 2nd shot was spot on. Not my biggest or smallest, but meat in the freezer. Just a measly 2 mile hike out but worth every bit of it. This deer had an absolutely beautiful coat on it. We filled 2 out of 3 tags with the hunting party I was with.

Please share who this member is. Im always suspect of anyone selling or advertising they want to buy something that are marked as a newbie and has no history.
