The elk hunt planning team had a Friday fish fry. We decided in bringing ground deer for a homemade meat sauce so chili got some nice cuts for a pleasant change.

Went to Black Canyon and Willow springs lakes over the holiday weekend. Bumper boats too say the least!!! But we got on the water at daylight and stayed till the crowds run us off. Game and fish show a probability of 1 in 8000 chance of catching the elusive Tiger trout ( cross of brown and brook trouts ) Well we caught 4. Here's a pic of what they look like. We also caught a lot of 20-23" Rainbows. Amazing weekend.

I've been catching an average 2 - 3lb rainbows and a few very nice tigers at Woods Canyon lake every Wednesday . Have had a few 5+ lb studs. (rainbows) going up next Wednesday with a great fellow from here. Then time to head to the reservation to start catching big browns, then big lake before the freeze. Great looking fish you caught. Weekends do suck. Thats why I work the weekends and fish middle of the week. Happy fishing

Conservation groups have been working diligently with the Apache National Forest to remove the feral livestock that has been inundating much of the forest. Sadly, the horse advocates have been working just as hard to stop the removal of said livestock. Photos by the contractor show the advocates opening locked gates to let captured horses free, cutting fences and causing havoc with the contractor. Over the past 14 months the contractor has removed over 350 horses and now has financing to remove even more. Conservation groups in Arizona have contributed over $100,000 to remove the remainder of these horses. Part of the issue is that the horse advocates refuse to accept science and biology as well as a Federal judgement that these horses are "stray", feral, or just plain livestock. I am writing this only to inform those who do not have the time or inclination to follow the drama. Many of us will be elk hunting this fall and we need to be aware of who our "Friends" are and those who only care about horses. It should be noted that the Aspen Lodge in Alpine is the hub of the Alpine Wild horse advocacy. The recent California transplants that purchased the Alpine Lodge have made the determination that these horses should be free and unencumbered by science. Where you spend your money this fall matters. If you are a horse advocate, spend your $$ at the Aspen Lodge. If you want a forest that has only natural wildlife..... then think twice about where you spend your $$. Once the Apache has all horses removed, the Sitgreaves Forest is next for a massive reduction of the invasive horses that came over from the Rodeo Chedeski fire. The White Mountain Apache Tribe has accepted back their cattle that strayed over into the forest, but politely declined to accept horses. The future of hunting units across Arizona need the support of all sportsmen to make sure biology and science rule how wildlife is handled.... and livestock have no place in the forests.

Sorry about that. For me it was caught early. I'll be 71 soon and feel glad it was caught before it broke out and spread. It is a sneaky POS and can show up in other places later on. I grew up in the 50's on Long Island NY five miles from Grumman where like Motorolla that was on Broadway in the East Valley, it was routine to dump chemicals in storm drains. Stuff like benzene, carbon tet and who knows what else. We found out decades later. The water table on LI is very shallow, 20-50' in most places so it was common for people to have a well besides city water. It is now referred to as "The Plume". There are some streets where many many people ended up with all types on cancer in towns like Levittown, Bethpage, Farmingdale, Hicksville and Seaford where we were. Charlie, Rich and Ray were a few years older than me graduating HS in 67 and off to Viet Nam. Charlie was cancer free for a long time but it came back a few years and ate him up. Rich passed within a few months from heart failure long after he had his prostrate removed. Ray, well Ray had cyber-knife and is doing great. Still heavily involved in Scouts. Just go get checked. Takes all of about 10 seconds, 8 if your Doc has long fingers.

They don’t even make this size anymore. I bought two pairs when they were discontinuing the size. This pair was not worn much. My foot is just too dang wide and I just need to probably invest in a pair of 4e wide Lathrop & Sons. They are laced that way to make toe box less tight. Asking $240. I’m in Safford, but have family in Globe.

In case anyone needs to be told they are killing us on purpose. Keep putting all the chemicals and sugar in your body and you’ll be a goner. They don’t want you to live to a ripe ole age.

Should use them to feed other countries starving or fertilize fields for future food.

THIS I drew my first ever non- resident tag in AZ this year. I can shoot three deer in Alaska for free but one in AZ cost me $300 or so! Drew a pretty nice tag with only 4 points If i had the 10% thing hanging over me i wouldn't have
