My boy and I have been going out before school the past couple days. Yesterday I asked if he wanted to try and shoot one and he didn't. Today, he got brave and decided to shoot the 12 gauge. He didn't mind it so we put our efforts into stalking a bird in a tree. He shot it, she retrieved it, and I couldn't be more proud of them both!

I was only going to be able to hunt opening weekend due to work and other things going on. I had planned on sitting a tank since the monsoon has been pretty lackluster and then like clockwork a big storm rolls through the area on Wed evening. I get to camp on Thurs and there are puddles of water everywhere, I decide to sit water anyway and see what happens. Friday opening day comes, sit all day and only 2 does come to water. The weather was heating up friday and the puddles were starting to dry out, higher hopes for Saturday sit. Morning comes get to tank, I hear someone in the distance yelling at his dogs, some Turkey sound off gobbling after that. The hours go by, have people coming to tank mid day to check tracks, Have a drone flying overhead, more people coming to check tank. Im hot and irritated, its 1pm and I decide Im going to leave. I get up to stretch and look around and see a body of a deer, cant see the head. I get ready, a doe comes to water. I knew there were more than 1 deer so I stay ready. Second deer comes in and its a buck, looks like a decent buck. I decide I will take him. He drinks and I think maybe I wont take him, a little smaller than my original thoughts. He messes with the doe for a little while and starts to walk off, it was then that I decided to shoot him at 43 yds. He took a tumble right away, got up junped the fence and almost fell there. I lose him in the trees. I wait 30 mins and start to track, short blood trail as he was piled up only 30-40 yds from shot.

I love Swarovsky warranty and customer service. I broke my 15's a week or so before taking off to Sonora Mexico, I send them out and a was very happy and sorprised I got my binos back just in time for my Sonora coues deer hunt! Also very happy and satisfied with Sightron. One of my rifle scopes broke and they send me back a brand new one within 5 or 6 days!

I have lost one of the front objective covers a few times, they just get stretched out after a while and fall off in the middle of nowhere never to be seen again. I created an account when I bought my first used pair of 15's back in about 2001. A simple email usually gets a new pair in a week. I have over the years had three pairs of 15's, 8.5 EL's and currently have 10X EL's, NL's and a pair of 15's. The NL's I bought new, everything else has been used. When I buy used they immediately get send back to get gone through and get a clean bill of health. Sometimes there is a charge, sometimes not. They don't make me better at glassing like Ernesto of Big Browns but at least I can't blame it on the glass. I think those guys could find Coues with an old pair of Sears and Roebuck 7X35 Zoom's.

My inlaws are up in Alpine. They only burn Aspen, Juniper., and oak. Pine is for the fire pit by the pond. People have been up there logging Aspen dead fall since the Wallow fire.

Never book outside the actual company. It's not worth the headache.

Wish I would have went this route. I too recently purchased a set of eyecups for older set of SLCs. Paid close to $100. Should have talked to Swaro it sounds like…

Spent all last week up there and started hearing bugles on Saturday and Sunday morning. Saw a decent bull layed up on my way out with about 30 cows. Going to be a good rut hunt.

Not too bad when they are stationary in a tree! But, it was every bit of 40-45 yards!

In behind the ranch on forest road 108, AKA .. Devil Dog road. About 2 miles in. Look for 3 small ponds off the west side of the road. And a big cabin. The pasture in behind there always has a couple herds of them roaming around. Last year there was a giant buck in the group. He kinda is a loner. He hides back along the tree lines , while the rest are out in the wide open. That could turn into a nice stalk, if you could find away to sneak threw the tree lines to him . If you pushed him out you could still possibly get a shot at him in the open. Good luck . I've hunted that unit and area since 1974
