In the early 1970s my family's dove hunt ritual consisted of buying shells from our local "Yellowfront" store on the Sunday before opening day... Dad would buy case's of 20 and 12ga Remington/Peters brand shells for $0.97 a box...Those sure were the days....

We hunt WT in that unit every year. Almost always see mulies in a couple of particular spots. Always down low. Send me a PM if you want a few details. Always willing to give out info for a kid’s hunt!

One of my hunting buddies and I went on our first ever bear hunt this past weekend. We didn't target pears or acorns, or anything. We simply went to a place that we elk hunt and have seen bears and regular sign over the years. Luck shined down, and my buddy killed a nice sow on Saturday morning. S.

I think the choke indications are on the side of the barrels once you remove from the action... On the side of the chamber if you will (covered by the receiver when engaged). I have a S55 Beretta 20 and that is where they are indicated. Oh I see the 1 star over 2 stars.. that might be Full over IMod then... Possibly

What are you hunting? If they shoot straight 400gr will be fine, even on elk. Just know your distances and shoot within your ability. I like a little heavier for elk but it is not NEEDED, just recommended. Whatever you do though, DO NOT ask what broadhead to use. There will be full-on grown man tantrums on here......

I totally forgot about Popular Outdoors. Yeah they always had some good deals. and yes on the activ shells too…I remember the first time I think it was my brother that had some. They looked so cheaply made I was afraid they’d misfire or jam.

Tell me about it. Shells were $2.99 a box for decades when I moved here from Maine in the mid 70's. Anyone remember Active all plastic shells?

Did some prime NY strips with a coffee garlic rub last night. Along with some sauteed mushrooms, onion, garlic reduced down with a little bourbon and Kerrygold butter. Side was baked potato hollowed out then twice baked with pepper jack, sour cream and green chile (not in the pic). Then also had a visitor cruise by.

Picked up a Christensen Ridgeline FFT a few months ago. Shooting factory ammo (Hornaday Match 180 ELD-M) and have been very pleased with it. Through the chrono I’m getting 2860 fps and have been getting 1/2 MOA 5 shot groups at 100 and 200. Have only shot at rocks at longer distances so far but hitting what I’m aiming at out to 700.
