Went to grab something out of the jeep when I realized I wasn't alone.

Thats a good deal on the jeep. 258s are easy to build throw on a 4.0 head a nice camshaft hei dist and you will have a good torque monster. The machine shop has so pretty legit equipment.

I'm on my 4th Gila Monster, 2nd tortoise this year. Lots of gopher snakes and a single rattler a few weeks ago. The Gladiator is awesome. I always liked the looks and off road capabilities. Then a cousin took me deer hunting in his last Jan and I was hooked. After some more research I knew I'd want the diesel version. I need a leveling kit installed, the diesels are 500lbs heavier than the gas models. The little 3.0L turbo diesel gets 30mpg hwy, mid 20s in town. Compared to my 1995 Powerstroke, puts out almost 10% more torque and 25% more hp. Handles like a sports car and is backed up to an 8spd AT.

Last week, I figured I didn't get drawn so after a few days I decided to check my credit card. There was a hit for $300. I literally sat there for a few minutes in disbelief....oh...oh....as I frantically search for the regs to check pricing to confirm. Sure enough its a sheep tag. Then all the talk about cc hits being taken away, add that which unit I got. I didn't dwell on it too much(as if I couldn't), started to tell some people that I may have a sheep tag. I just logged on my portal, sure enough. My first choice was 45c, Kofa National Wildlife refuge. I have tag #4 for the December hunt. I have always assumed it would take forever to get drawn, for the first 10 years or so I probably put in for 22 and 24b, until I realized that was never going to happen in my lifetime. So I would listen to various podcasts and randomly put in for units. This year I put in for Kofa due to the tag number, I figured it would help my odds. I had 19 bonus points. But still thought it wouldn't happen till I had 25-30 bonus points. I am at a loss of words, I am very excited but already feel overwhelmed and unprepared. My first thought was to post here to start getting some feedback. I'll go get some maps this week. I did a search on hike az for hikes, there actually doesn't seem to be too many hikes. At least at first searching. So...How should I prepare? I feel like I have a good base of equipment, I have been hunting coues deer for most of my adult life. So I have 15 binos, 10 binos, but no spotting scope. Should I look for one? I have a good hunting backpack. I'll increase my exercising, good benefit of this is I need to lose 20 plus pounds. Very soon i'll need to actually start to head to the unit and see it. I read somewhere where someone said to contact the Bighorn society. I will take all the advice and help I can. I don't want to make anyone hate me....but my wife got drawn for late bull in 3C this year. Our plan is to give it to my 13 year old. That hunt runs from 12-1 to 12-7, then my sheep hunt from 12-8 to 12-31. Hopefully work understands! Added a picture of my boys deer I am getting very excited!

I have to sell one of mine to fund a rangefinder. This is gold plated and appears to be unfired except for factory testing. 98% condition. It does have a safe mark on the stock as pictured. Also has lost some of it's finish on but plate. [I have another one that's almost identical. this seems to be from the factory plastic that it was wrapped in.] Factory trigger is crisp and clean at 3 lbs. 3 oz. Located in flagstaff, willing to meet in Prescott/Cordes Jct. area. As you can see in the last Pic. I seem to have an affliction! $950 or $900 if we meet in Flagstaff! When the world was out of everything and I wanted the Carnage II jigging rods, none existed anywhere so I ended up with the cheaper Rampage rods. I actually kind of like the action on the "5'-8" 80-130 braid" on the 50# class fish as the leverage the fish has is limited by the shorter rod but this is the rod I had a 100#+ BF on and it ran out of backbone and I ended up losing a multi hour fight with him due to being cut off with another line. Not blaming the rod so much as just being undergunned on that fish. The only real downside to the short jigging rods is getting over guys on the rail and the absolute worst part is getting around the anchor gear on the bow if you are on the cattle boats. I had a crew hand with me on this fish and he was jumping up on the bow to get the line around the bow.. All 17 times.. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to take a shorter jigging rod on a 6 pack but mine now sit at home as I fish on the cattle boats. As for Acid wrapped rods, for jigging and sinker rigs I think it's genius but I have never actually fished with one.. Yet...

My dad has an xds he’s looking to part with. Not sure if it’s a mod 2 or not. Interested?

Goats may be available too. They would definitely need to be conditioned. They have just sat around and got fat for the last 2 years.

Thanks! Yeah, we taped him a few times. I guess I should have clarified a bit. This was my brother’s hunt, but yes, super cool that his wife came with.

I've seen quite a few. Several years ago when helping someone in 32 on the western side of the Galiuros we were running into them everywhere we went. Saw 5 or 6 tortoises and 2 Gila Monster's in 2 days. I couldn't believe some of the steep rocky places where we saw tortoises. Must have been breeding season or something, seemed like they were coming out everywhere.
