About 15 years ago, late August, I decided to drive from Long Lake to Kinnikinick and then to Ashurst. About 30 minutes in a huge thunderstorm dumped on me and then steady rain thereafter. Anyone that’s been on Anderson Mesa in a rainstorm knows how that mud gets. Pure snot! Between the mud and horrible rocks, I thought I’d never get out of there. Took me hours to get to Kinnikinick! I'm convinced the 82 road between Kinnikinick and Long Lake is the WORST road in the state. I haven’t been on that section since! 😜

Different bullet makes for different barrel harmonics = different POI.

People. . . This happens every 6-7 years due to the calendar. Hunts are set based on week of the year. Example certain deer hunts start on the 41st Friday of the year. Every year that 41st day bumps up a day or two until it gets bumped back again. Has happened since the beginning of time and will continue to happen for the rest of time. Noone is taking youth or Thanksgiving hunts away.

Browning Maxis 3.5 12 gauge shotgun, with a 28 inch barrel. Mossy oak blades camo, Three Invector plus choke tubes. Full, Mod, Improved. There is a area on the action on both sides with wear marks. Unfortunately, I put in a leather scabbard that removed some of the camo. It happened one time, that was enough. The gun shoots great, and fast. I have bought a new shotgun with a 26 barrel, and 3 inch chamber. Don't like 3.5 shotguns. I used this gun for Turkeys, ducks, and cranes 750.00 Text 60two.291.671six Don

That is funny. I remember an article a while back describing pike feeding frenzy every time they stocked there.

Ya i've done that road a few times, every time I regretted it. How about the road east of East Sunset Mesa? Talk about butt puckering.

Usually more gun dependent than the bullet in my experience but I have has bullets of the same weight be 3" off at 50 yards.

Funny story.....my wife used to take her 5th grade class fishing with G$F up there. One of the kids caught a pike and the officer said there is no way because FH didn't have any pike in it.....my wife said, "well take a look here, looks like all the pike I've ever seen"........

What worse than the ones that elected him, are the ones that think he is doing a great job for this country.

It's an indication of where we are as a society. Any society that would elect Joe Biden and company as leaders has some serious issues.

So it has been quite a while since I've been very excited about pulling the trigger on Coues buck. A few days into our Mexico trip this year my buddy and his friend glassed up this buck and took this video. Only the 1st 30 seconds are worth much of this video but you can see the weird stuff on the bases We spent the day looking for the buck from about 8am to about 5pm with no sightings, I wanted to give the opportunity to Rob or Paul if we could, but both said if anyone saw the buck they should shoot the buck if at all possible. At about 5:15 with just a few minutes of shooting light my brother glassed directly into the sun about 1200 yards from where the buck was last seen only to pick him up staring at us at 400 yards about to walk out of our sight. Here is where the story started, I was kind of a nervous wreck when I'm normally pretty calm. Well I made a quick/rushed shot but it felt good and I saw the impact in the front shoulder What I didn't realize was that I hit him Infront of the shoulder in the brisket. With the help of everyhone we searched until dark, the next day I had the cowboys of the ranch and most of my friends helping to find the buck. We tracked him with some minimal hair and blood for almost 2 days before we had to leave for home. About a month a go I got these pictures from the Rancher. I hate wounding critters, but I hate wounding and not finding them even more. It wasn't how I wanted it to all play out but a pretty cool ending to a crazy cool buck. I was able to make it down this past weekend and pick him up and do a little turkey hunting Huge thanks to my long time friend Rob for glassing this buck up and going down to pick him up with me. Also a big thanks to my brother for going with me and finding him at last light and letting me shoot.

man I hope someone finds it for you! I lost mine some years back on an archery deer hunt. I was camped near Haigler creek and changed clothes before heading back to the valley. When we stopped to get gas I realized in a panic it was gone! We continued to the valley after tearing apart all my gear. I get home and get ready to go back up by myself when I got to thinking......... I always see a truck parked at a house before the creek with a Haigler Creek Outfitter sticker on the back of it! I google it and the address comes up to the house by the creek. I had talked to KC from that outfit in the field a couple times. Seen him out and about while glassing around bar x ranch bringing HUUUGEE cedar tree cuts out.... like the kind for making furniture. Also seen his picture with a giant late season bull at the restaurant in Young. He was always polite when we spoke. So I called the number on the website. KC answered the phone and I proceed to explain to him where we were camped and asked if he'd mind going to the campsite to take a quick look before I go back up there, he said sure no problem. 5 minutes later I get a call back and the guy says is this James Walton adress ......... I said I guess you found it. Said he had to come to the valley for some work and he'd bring it down with him! I was so relieved!!!!!! Very lucky! He also refused to take any $ jlw
