I bought this rifle from a member on with out any rounds through it. I’ve personally only shot 1 box through it. It shoots tight groups the sights just need to be adjusted to get a good zero. Selling the gun and ammo for $750 obo. Located in the Safford area. Will meet within reason. Will be headed through Globe to Snowflake in a couple of weeks. Thanks. 9286510588.

Not exactly the Vancouver metro area, but worth a thought. Vancouver is VERY expensive, in my opinion, even with the exchange rate in our favor. Fishing is better away from Vancouver. If you're driving and have the time check out the small towns of Tofino and Uclulet, BC on the Pacific side of Vancouver Island. Both have many day charter boats. You'll need to take a ferry from Horseshoe Bay ( just north of Vancouver) to Nanaimo BC, then drive across the island to the Pacific side. Can't recommend a charter, the one we used changed hands. Uclulet prices were a bit lower than Tofino. Tripadvisor.com ratings are worth a look. Timing your salt water trip depends on salmon runs. Kings (Chinook) run earlier in summer, Silvers ( Coho) later, Pinks both. There's some overlap. Halibut and Ling are around all the time. Expect rain, that's what it does, but the temperate rain forest is impressive. Bring your best rain gear.

I’m thinking some of you are tired of javelina pics by now. We lucked out this morning, parked the truck before sunrise and started glassing. By 830 a herd of javelina woke up and started to feed 300 yards away from us. We had to wait a bit, get the wind right and sneak over a hill to get an 80 yard shot. Another smoke pole javelina for Pops.

Another thought: in your first post you mentioned do it yourself shore fishing. BC has famous salmon and steelhead rivers like the huge Fraser near Vancouver, and many more north along the mainland. Here's a link to the regs: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/sports-culture/recreation/fishing-hunting/fishing/fishing-regulations

You can have tanned hair off and have gloves, slippers, rifle or pistol cases and all kinds of stuff, even chaps or jacket/shirt/vest. You only go around once. 👊

Alot of them from the chandler gilbert mesa phx queen creek area get stolen and they drive the heck out of them and then either get stuck or burn them or both on the Gila river rez. Ill keep a eye out for it.

Consider if you are going to glass while standing up or just sitting down. If standing, you will probably want a tripod that is tall enough without using the center column as the extended center column allows a lot of vibration.

The manfrotos seem easier to get without a tripod head which I would recommend. For the price vs value I like the benro s2 but looks like the va5 head is cheaper now then what I remember it being in the past. For $150 the 290xt tripod is a great value and still lighter then my vanguard alta264ao that I'm using.

I'm sorry for your loss. I remember the difficulties I had. My father and I used to talk on the phone almost every day. After he passed, I used to start reaching for the phone to call him and then remember he was now with me instead of on the phone. Wasn't the same but I took comfort believing he knew how I was doing at all times. Took me a few years to stop thinking about calling and just accepting he was near. It's a big change when any close person moves on. Here's to all of our Dads, Mom's, other relatives and friends. May they always be with us and help us in wonderful ways.

Well, we're slated for more snow all of late next week. Hoping for as much as we can get.

I agree. The federal "wild horse and burro" act needs to be repealed and states should be allowed to manage them, including culling and/or allowing harvest by hunters.

I don’t know why this is so secretive… Yukon moose are expensive. It’s with spatsizi out fitters. Fully guided and outfitted horse back hunt deep in the Canadian Wilderness. Cost includes caribou, wolf and moose tag (but does not include caribou trophy fee) it’s for 9/29-10/11. What would be owed up front is about 17k. Total cost is $24,890. That’s for 1 hunter and 1 non hunter

Hmmm, I never heard of that, I shot a bear and thought it was great, didn’t seem greasy when cooking it, but when skinning it the fat is way stickier and greasy than anything else I’ve skinned, I just think it would be dumb to shoot one of you don’t plan on eating it, I know you said you would keep it, but I’m just saying in general why would anybody shoot a big game animal if they don’t plan on eating it

Harley let me know when you get it mounted. I'd like to look through it.
