Not sure about NM predictions but we haven't had much contribution from the Gila so far which is surprising. Most of this last surge was all from the San Carlos River and its tributaries. When this thread started we too were having some incredible flows all across the Rez which I've never seen before. DAN

Got rid of 8 chickens last yr because the bird dog was terrorising the heck out of them every chance he got. They would quit laying eggs a week at a time. Looks like I should have just got rid of the dog. lol

If any of you are around when I die, just put me in a coffee can.

Plenty of stocking planned this year for San Carlos as we'll hold over to spring 2024 like we did 2017-18. We got to 32% that time (2017) and spring '18 was excellent for crappie. We're currently leveling off at just over 40%. Plan to get out and survey fairly soon here. DAN

I have two 10-year-olds that Drew the youth tag I swear I put them in for 33 but somehow they drew 34 A and B I'm sure it's not a bad unit I've just never hunted it and don't have a lot of time if anybody can chime in and help out or throw a few areas out where they've seen pigs I took both boys out for the day Saturday but the wind was howling 30 mph all day long we glassed are asses off hopefully this Saturday and Sunday I'll be able to take them both days. There sure is a lot of good bucks seen a bunch of good mule dear and a few good coues bucks

Some guy on the crappie FB group was so mad at me for saying San Carlos had white crappie. I posted a pic of me with one. He said nope, says right here in the regs only white crappie in pleasant.

Found a defect in it I did not know about so it gets shipped to Mueller to get checked out. Will go back for sale if they fix it. Sorry to all that responded.

No dig but Standman killed it in '18 if I remember.. granted that guy kills lots of things.

I buy the Jumbo eggs from Walmart, mostly because a lot of them have two yolks. I only eat eggs on Saturday or Sunday morning so a dozen last me a while. I never though to look at the price though.

I used to look forward to getting my giant Cabela's catalog (decades ago). I bought just about all my hunting and fishing stuff from Cabela's. Great company, great customer service, awesome products and good prices. That ship sailed long ago. I haven't bought anything there in a long time. Everything I loved about it has reversed - I won't even go in there when I visit the valley. On the other hand, I'm super glad the merger with Sportsman's fell through - at least they're still pretty good. If we had a Scheel's I'd definitely shop there - already do online.

I have chickens just to make sure I have a couple of eggs, not a money project just a hobby..............so in the past I have just given eggs to neighbors, family etc.......I don't have a lot of laying hens so it isn't like mass production at all. A dozen - 18 eggs a week. One of my neighbors insisted on paying me $4 for the last dozen I took to her because she felt guilty about what she has to pay at the grocery store we live in batsh$t crazy times for sure!!!!!

Right, but the lake didn't hold a pool for 2 consecutive spawning seasons before that either.

Stocking isn't needed. The lake just needs to keep water for 18 months and it is full of fish. Unfortunately, it was just empty this past summer. Hopes to spring 2024.

It's a helpless feeling to watch them struggle.
