I know it’s hard to keep up with the scams, lies and propaganda but it’s not Global Warming anymore. It’s Climate Change. 1970 - Global Cooling 1980 - Acid Rain 1990 - Ozone Layer 2000 - Global Warming 2010 - Climate Change

The first two weeks was basically chasing pigs in the flats as they never moved up in the hills. 0 opportunities and a whole lot of exercise. The warm weather has em holding low and being very mobile and moving constantly. We were excited for a cold weekend, it’ll keep the pigs feeding in a small area. My son and I snuck out Saturday morning for a quick hunt before an afternoon bday party. We glassed up a herd feeding and made a move, I was able to stick an arrow in this herd boar with my recurve, he freaked on me and took 2 more in the chamber before dying. My son got to watch the whole show by my side which was great. Battle scars everywhere. He bit off and broke two of my arrows. This morning it was just pops and I out trying to keep his archery success streak alive. The morning started off dull until 9:30 when a herd was spotted feeding on an agave. We made a move and crept up to 17 yards and pops was able to harvest this old old sow. Molars were worn down to nubs and very little meat on her frame.

Like Adam previously stated not a coues but it was harvested with a specialty pistol. With 30 BP I finally drew an AZ desert bighorn sheep permit. I used a custom Remington XP-100 in 284 Winchester to harvest my ram at 157 yards.

This global.warming is confusing. Woke up to a trace of snow on the ground, mind you I'm at about 1100' elevation. Got more at the Wickenburg Range.

Don't forget Todd at SouthernXpress, He builds a nice muzzleloader. Picked one up last year and my daughter shot her first bull with it about a week later.

Russ at best is ok. I speak from my own experience and dealings with. He does have most of that area on lockdown. With or without cameras the time and his crew spend up there along with the amount of blinds and salt he has I dont think he really needs cameras to know the Buffaloes pattern moving off the park. The coop isn’t a bad gig but know that the paid clients get the “good spots” and you will be sent else where. Its hunting you never know but it helps to know they are hitting a particular area or salt and that’s where his clients will be. I started in the coop and then a few of us decided it wasn’t for us. The 3 of us killed Bulls. I’ve read quite a few posts before and after my hunt with guys talking about not putting in up there cause of the BS! I say thx cause I/family/friends will take the tag. If you can hunt and you hunt your way you will get your chance at a Bull/Cow. It’s your tag don’t allow any guide up there to dictate where you go or how you should hunt and be respectful to the other hunters you will be successful. In the beginning the Buffalo on the plateau usually come off the park in a pattern based on snow melt and the want/need for salt. I had this hunt a few years ago and have been apart of a hunt one way or another every year since . There is more salt in areas then they are marked on maps you’ll see unless you pay to play. There are shenanigans that do go on up there while your not looking but if you put in the work you’ll get it done. Take a lot of pics during the hunt and with your bull! good luck

Got drawn for bull bison in the spring. I will be calling Russ Jacoby and hopefully get to pick his brain and learn some new stuff about this once in a life time hunt. Figured I would see if anybody else had some good insight. I will be taking the entire hunt off if need be. Thanks for any help!

I had the fortune to shoot some Snow Geese recently. The meat is awesome. I know that tradition for most is to just breast the birds but I wanted to share that the leg meat is delicious. I just brined, rinsed, and used a modern Confit recipe. Confit is an old technique where the meat is slow cooked immersed in fat (preferably from the same animal). Duck Confit is a classic. Anyways, my geese had very little fat so I used what I had, bacon grease. I lightly peppered the meat and vacuum sealed with a good dollop of bacon grease. I then sealed that bag in a second bag. Then placed the bag in a crockpot of water and cooked on low for 24+ hours. It was probably done sooner but I did it over Thanksgiving and was otherwise occupied. The meat came out falling off the bones, extremely tender, and delicious. Very mild flavor and nice texture. Think a good slow cooked pork butt. The bacon grease did add a slight porky flavor. Very good eats and doubled the yield vs. just breast meat. We did shredded goose taco's initially and the whole family enjoyed them. I have since been taking bowls with beans and rice to work. I have enjoyed the chance to extend the satisfaction of a successful hunt over many meals. This method worked so well I plan to try with other game meats. I think slow cooking in fat will yield a very tender meal.

Gotcha. I think imma just get a few different types and mess around with them when I buy a muzzy. Is it okay to order powder online and send it to my house. Or is there legalities with shipping anything with gun powder?

Cabelas had blackhorn on the shelf two days ago.You will like the thumb hole stock.I shoot powerbelt in my muzzy .I looked into Thor bullets for a bullet to bore fit but didn't order any yet. Hornady has there new bore driver line and the reviews seem good. The konus scopes are OK they have 2 different scopes the one with the bullet drop is the better of the two.

I think imma order an optima. Imma still spend the extra for BH209 though. Seems like a better way to go. I am willing to spend extra to get a good shot and kill too. I went to sportsmens to check them out a bit ago. I wanted to get the one with the thumb hole in the stock. Also what would be better? The 28 in or 26? Or is it more of how it feels when I shoulder the gun? I also wanna know if the scope it comes with is good too. If not what kinda scopes do you like. Anything around the 200 yard range is gonna be a good shot for me after doing more research now too. Any bullet recommendations too? I keep finding stuff about the barnes 290. But what about the power belts or Hornady? Thank you

I killed this buck with my 4 year old son by my side during the opening morning of the general rifle hunt. We were late getting out of the cabin by about an hour but it all worked out. As we were working our way to our glassing spot we found this guy hanging out near the road. Having my son with me during this hunt was by far my best experience in the field.

Simple answer is no finish work on the outside or inside. If people want the inside lined they can line it but the idea is the simple/different. Long answer goes like this............................... I grew up with the mortician that is located down in Benson and because I have kinfolk down in the St. David area he has seen a couple of my projects. Then one day, his dad who coached for forever down in Animas passed away and he called me to make his Dad's casket. We built that one out of old bleacher material his dad had salvaged from the old gym in Animas. Then about two months ago he calls me up and says...............I have an old cowboy down here that wants a pine box to bury his son in, I need it by Monday..........and this was Saturday evening about 9:00pm. So began the unfinished pine box...................................... He then decided he wanted one for his display room.....

This thread definitely got derailed. If TC hadn't shut down I probably would have gone that route. I can still find a TC Pro Hunter FX but with no factory support and now no parts availability, no way. I decided not to wait more than half a year for the Woodman or pay more than triple the cost of this one for a Knight. This CVA Optima V2 LR looks and feels great. Can't wait to shoot it!

Great work! Fun Fact: By statute (ARS Sec. 41-857) the Bolo (AKA Bola) tie is Arizona's official neckwear.

Definitely not selling it. It is, in fact, a Shadow System CR920. A "Glock 43/43x clone". Just has a lot of bells and whistles and lipstick on the pig.

So after chasing mule deer in Dec/Jan archery my wife decided she wanted to try her luck on a desert mule deer during the general hunt. We’ve chased these deer only during archery and had decided to keep tabs through the years. We finally felt we had a solid plan so off we went. We got to her u it the afternoon before and set up camp then went out to glass. On our way to our glassing spot we came across a groups of 4 bucks hanging out in the area we were goi g to focus on. We got up early Opening morning and my wife and son got ready and headed to the area we had chosen to be at sunrise. I went to the glassing spot. At about 0611 I glasses up a group of 5 bucks, one of which was a definite shooter. Once they had formulated and approach everything just worked out perfect. I was bummed I couldn’t be with her when she shot but having just had hernia surgery a week earlier I was relegated to glass duty. 312 yard offhand shot with her 300WSM and the rest is history. Super proud of her!

Hunted 12 days over salt and although sounds easy this was one of the hardest hunts I have ever been on. All I can say is this hunt will test your mental toughness to the max! Special thanks to my dad for being by my side the whole way and keeping me going and special Thanks to Russ Jacob and Laura Jacoby for all the help!
