Man... its super slow in this place anymore, thought I would share a couple pic's from my recent endeavors. Hunted the late rifle and then stayed for the OTC archery. Killed a decent buck with the gun, rut was slow but we saw some great deer, watched a giant get killed, couple good one's gave us the slip. Archery hunt, the deer never really got going until the day before I left, saw a couple amazing bucks, just couldn't get it done. Had a great time with some buddies, also enjoyed a few days solo.

Also accurate but the word "lake" may be a bit deceiving regarding size and purpose. This one is for the MWs. The new power-generating pumped storage project is unnamed at the moment. It is very much in the feasibilty stages of planning.

I might as well get in on this thread. Been taking fitness seriously for the last 5 years or so. I started at a very soft 205 lbs, like real soft. Too many years of just doing dad stuff and eating trash. I work for BP and I tried out for our mountain team in 2018. I barely passed the PT test and got on the team. I cleaned up my diet and really pushed myself hiking hard pretty much 5 days a week. Dropped down to 170 but no muscle except for in my legs. I’m 6-02” so I looked like a skeleton at 170 but I could out-hike just about anyone. Started hitting the gym again and now I’m up to 202 and pretty rock solid. 42 years old and feel better than ever. I generally stick to a push, pull ,legs routine with cardio and core mixed in when I can. The Gov gives me an hour a day to do pt on the clock too so that def helps.

Not much to write, other than I sat on my glassing nob this morning, wondering why I even came hunting with this nasty winter storm on top of me. Windy, cold, and rainy. About 20 min into glassing I heard rocks crashing underneath me and this buck was running around the nob looking for a doe 100 yards beneath me. I went down the hill and to my surprise the buck was still there coming out of the cut he had no idea I was even there and gave me a 40 yard shot.I made a great shot and he expired within 40 yards. Being in the right place at the right time was the truth this morning and luck was on my side. I have never had a buck run up on me like that when I am glassing but I guess anything is possible during the rut!

I guess I didn't directly answer your question. If you are going with the Kowa, get one with the Flourite glass! I suspect the 880 series is really the one you want if you don't mind a bigger spotter. It is arguably one of the best spotters you can buy. There is a Kowa in the classifieds that is a great spotter if you are OK with a fixed eyepiece and not stuck on the flourite glass.

Delta Team Tactical has complete builds, excluding the stripped lower, for $399.00 or less according to their website. I remember when they got down to $300.00, so I'm waiting. Not Promoting them, just an FYI.

how many times have you been asked what’s the “biggest bull you’ve killed?” How many times you been asked “how many points you got?” that’s where the bragging rights are.

I'm all in! What a freaking hassle putting in 12 apps. But again maybe the hassle is a good thing and people might do a bonehead entry like I did. Odds might go up, just glad I caught it.

Reliable source stated new dam down stream. Aprox 100+ ft. higher than old dam. Kinda like they did at lake pleasant. Water could backup to Horseshoe when water level has reached its highest . Most likely a lot of us ole timers probably won't see it finished, or get a chance to fish it.

Simple answer is no finish work on the outside or inside. If people want the inside lined they can line it but the idea is the simple/different. Long answer goes like this............................... I grew up with the mortician that is located down in Benson and because I have kinfolk down in the St. David area he has seen a couple of my projects. Then one day, his dad who coached for forever down in Animas passed away and he called me to make his Dad's casket. We built that one out of old bleacher material his dad had salvaged from the old gym in Animas. Then about two months ago he calls me up and says...............I have an old cowboy down here that wants a pine box to bury his son in, I need it by Monday..........and this was Saturday evening about 9:00pm. So began the unfinished pine box...................................... He then decided he wanted one for his display room.....

I have always applied the 60/40 rule on consumer items. 60 percent materials and 40 on labor. 840 in materials and 560 in labor doesn’t add up imho

AZGFD isn't underfunded. Like any other government entity it's woefully mismanaged.

I’ve packed an Outdoorsman tripod around all over the place for like 22 years and it still works like it did when new. They build a solid product and I don’t think they’ll have any problem selling them

For hunting I like a 0.002” shoulder set back to a slight crush fit. I never FL resize bottle neck rifle rounds. eventually with neck sizing you’ll have to at least partially FL size to get it back into spec. i don’t believe hardly any competitive shooter neck size any more.
