After 2 years of preparation everything came together to harvest the ram of a lifetime in Alaska an 11 year old monarch! Hardest hunt I have ever done both physically and mentally. My pack was 60 lbs for the first 6 days sleeping bivvy style wherever we ended up each night. Out of 9 days it rained, sleeted, or snowed 6 of them. Ram down morning of day 7 and my pack went to 100+ pounds hiking 27 hours over 3 days to get out of the mountains. Truly an incredible adventure!

Hang on to them they’ll get smarter as they continue to grow up. If not there’s always hope and a prayer for grandkids!

Up for sale is our two 2005 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 quads and 14' trailer. I'd really like to sell as a package, but I will consider selling each item individually. The quads need to sell before I can let the trailer go. Located in Mesa. Do to age/physical issues we want to move to a SxS. The green one is mine and used for hunting/scouting. The red one is my wife's. She hasn't ridden it much over the last few years, so mileage is lower. They have been garage kept since new and regularly well maintained. Just changed the oil/filter and air filter on both. All suspension bushings replaced a few years ago. Good tires on both. We rarely rode them faster than 20mph and never abused. Miles/hours: Green - 4771/596.5, Red - 3475/437.2. Includes what you see in the pictures...lockable storage box, ammo can storage, 4" ABS tube storage, two strap on storage bags, fender bag, bungee nets, spare tire. $3200 each, or best reasonable offer. Weiers trailer: cargo bed is 14' L x 50" W. No wiring/lighting issues. Wood deck is pretty weathered but fully functional. Tires and spare kept covered and in great shape. I cannot sell separately until the quads sell. $800 Also for sale is a truck bed quad rack. Custom built, qualify steel/welds. It fit in a Chevy 6' 6" bed with tail gate up. 10' ramps fold in half and stow/lock beneath quads. I hauled these large Arctic Cat 500 quads on it while pulling a tent trailer. No problem on a 2004 Chevy 2500. As seen in the pics, the powder coating is coming off and starting to rust. I had this built several years ago for $1300. Asking $700. I can provide specific dimensions if interested. Four Eight Zero - Two Oh Five - 9828

I was truly blessed again this year being able to take this buck. I had actually passed this buck up 2 years ago waiting for something bigger ( still kicking myself). He is actually not much bigger than 2 years ago, but did add a small point off his G2. I sat in my stand for 35 hours before this guy made his appearance. That is the only good thing that will come out of the trail cam ban... not knowing what's coming in, I wasn't waiting for a "bigger buck".

Yeah, but I had kids so late in life I may not live to see grand kids, especially since kids get married at a later age now and have kids at a later age, for the most part. So the grand kids part is out, and why hang on to the things the kids aren't interested in when I can use the money for their college or for other expenses. I've been wrestling with it for over a year and have decided just to liquidate most everything. If they want it later, they'll just have to buy it, if the laws still permit it!

I’ve been seeing probably double the amount of quail I’ve ever seen out there! The other day I glassed from 5 different hills and kicked up a covey on every single one. Then I drove through a covey on the way out. I think this is going to be a quail year for the books

I was pissed at Optics Planet for saying some 143 ELDX were in stock in August 2020 and not shipping my 5 boxes until Februrary 2022. Turns out it was a blessing in disguise because the bullets went from $0.34 to $0.56 per piece and they honored the OG price. Could have been worse, wish I could have done the same with some primers!

At least every bowhunter that wishes to hunt the unit is guaranteed 6 days per year to hunt it. It wasn't that way under the previous system. Under last year's regulations, only 125 hunters were drawn to kill virtually the same number of deer that will be killed this year. Actually, a few more deer will be killed this year (at least 35 v. 32 under the draw last year). I suppose an argument could be made that those 125 hunters had less competition and crowding, but at least under the new regulations, the majority of hunters will be guaranteed the chance to hunt at least six days in their favorite area (unless theirs is in one of the very few draw areas). The hunt is only scheduled to be no more than 3 weeks long for the entire year, just like it was under the draw system. There will be, and should be, people on both sides of the fence in a unit like this as to which format is preferable. But I think overall the majority of hunters statewide will see more opportunities to hunt under this new system in the majority of units. If 125 hunters killed 32 deer in three weeks last year, it should only be expected by all of us that a significant number of hunters greater than 125 will reach the 35 deer quota in less than three weeks this year. But a lot more people had the chance to enjoy hunting the unit, even if for a shorter time, than they did last year.

I was in your shoes a few months ago… started butchering goats, wanted more space for game and game meat processing. Looked on craigslist, offerup, etc for used commercial equipment. I ended up building my walk-in a few months ago, and it only took about 2 weeks.... Highly recommend building one as you can tailor it to your needs. I just got an email today from CoolBot that they want to feature my cooler in their blog. Wasn't expecting that lol. Mine will get down to 34 deg in less than 5 minutes. Can control temp on smartphone... connects to home wifi and will give you alarm notification on your phone if there is a temp swing outside your set range.

If you want to build one cheap I'll tell you how. Mine has been running full time for over ten years. You can build one for $1,000 to $1,500 easy with everything.
