What did it hurt? Some people look mostly in the classifieds. Yes they should participate in the other forums, but everyone is, gratefully, different.

They don't announce results, they just call the successful applicants. Chances of winning are extremely small...you're more likely to draw a sheep tag and antelope tag in the same year than to pick up some of those limited entry tags.

I’m no videographer but here is my 23N archery hunt. There are a ton of bulls in the unit. If you want a 375+ you’ll need some good scouting but it’s easily achievable. My only regret is shooting the first bull I had in range on day 2. Wish I would have hunted longer, but I was happy getting my bull DIY with my Dad by my side. Saw some monsters in there. I ran into A3 on day 2 of my pack out. Tried to wave them down to chat and give some help and they instead almost ran me off the road in their Ranger. I later found out 4 of their group of 5 hunters tagged out. The female who was in the Ranger with them did not.

With a little luck, and a little bit of magic in the mountains I was able to take this beautiful tom this morning. At first he was hesitant to commit to coming in but after calling to him for about 30 mins I was able to connect on him at 27yards. Hid beard measured at 10 inches and his spurs where just over an 1 1/4".

Sorry but the 30/300 foot rule is a good rule. Just drive the 300 road by forest lakes and you’ll see they push the campsites farther from the road every year causing more damage every year.

Better odds in the super raffle than in this draw

Yes, this “draw” is basically another avenue for them to raise funds, primarily through application fees if I had to guess. Not that I’m against that in principle (I actually applied for one of the hunts). But it’s important to understand that’s very much like buying a lottery ticket. Chances might be higher of me hitting a deer by accident on a random phoenix street than getting a tag from this.

Got a call from Georgia today. Answered it and they wanted to talk about the state of housing in AZ. I said ok, let’s talk. Lady says “aren’t you worried about your community?” I said “no, my house and all my neighbors houses are paid for. My community is fine.” She hung up on me. Guess she didn’t want to talk about “my” community after all.

I know. I regret it. I have never been known for my good decisions. Anyone that knows my ex can attest to that.

Based on your draw luck this year, you're gonna be tagless for a decade...grin ..

Yep, monsoon rain is great for summer foliage growth and filling stock tanks, but for the most part the lakes depend on winter moisture. Consistent average/above-average snowpack in the White Mountains for the Salt River and the western slope of the Rockies for the Colorado River is what's needed.

Don't they have a young camp for that hunt up on the north edge of the unit? I would look into it and stay there. Tons of help in those camps.

We got a warning from BLM that our trailers were gonna have to be moved. It was a 2 week limit and they were gonna have to be moved 30miles minimum. We called the BLM LEO and explained that we’re not squatters and we’re occupying and scouting for upcoming hunts. LEO was very cool and reasonable and allowing us to stay through the end of the hunts. Squatters are a problem for sure, and people using the forest as a storage unit.

I'm a huge proponent on cracking down on the 2 week rule - the woods should not be free storage and we all have gone up 2, 3 + weeks apart and seen the same abandon trailer sitting there. Those jerks dominating those spots puts more pressure on new spots to be 'opened up' and more and more habitat misused or people pulling in and camping on top of you - not my idea of fun either. Tkt them after 2 and tow after 3 if you ask me.

Screw the elk tags. If I could hunt desert muleys with a rifle during the rut I think I could kill a 200” buck. The biggest problem would be finding one that isn’t busted up.

I’ll be in shape. Broadheads are already tuned up and flying like darts…. I know what I’m very lucky to have gotten, and I plan to whack a big’n

Well it's that time of year again. If you're anything like me you spend most of your time thinking about the up coming draw. Looking over old pics and videos reliving past hunts. Staying up searching for new potential honey holes on Google Earth. Trying to figure out where to put in for ect ect.... I love it! It's also that time of year when I like to make youtube videos and share them with my fellow coues nuts on CW.COM. I just finished putting together a video of my cousin's 2020 Dec hunt where he got his biggest buck to date this beautiful 4x5. The hunt started off slow with us being fogged in most of the morning. It wasn't until around 10am the fog would finally start lifting. Shortly after the fog clearing we found his buck about a mile out feeding with another buck. We watch him for awhile trying to figure out if he was a opening day shooter or not. To be honest I was hoping my cousin wouldn't want to go after him not because I didn't think he was a good buck but because I didn't want to be done hunting so early. After about an hour the bucks ended up dropping down in a small canyon out of sight. Not knowing exactly where they went we knew our chances of relocating the buck was not very good but we still decided to go after him. So we packed up and a couple hours later we found ourselves overlooking the canyon where we last saw the buck. We spent the next 3 hours taking apart the canyon with little luck. Only finding 4 or 5 does and one small buck. We did glass up a 4 point shed which we later found out was from this buck which was pretty cool. Anyways just when I thought we weren't going to relocate the buck Dallas turned him up across the canyon at about 300 yards and the rest is history. Video link should be below check it out if you got the time. Apparently it's not as good as I thought because the last time I checked it already had one dislike with only 10 views. Let me know what you think. Is this video really worthy of a thumbs down or did a vegan just happen to stumble across it? Thanks!
