Charging $1000 for a snickers would save more lives than banning ar-15s

Tony Mandile was a long-time contributor to this forum. He passed away yesterday morning from complications from COPD, Covid and an infection he got while at the hospital. His wife, Ellen, also got sick about the same time and spent time in the hospital, but is recovering at home. His family says he did not wish to hold a service, but I wanted to share with you all some more about his background. Tony went by the handle Outdoor Writer in this forum as well as other hunting forums. He made a living as a professional write for almost 40 years and he was a wealth of knowledge about the outdoors. I enjoyed my conversations with him and he will be missed. Tony and his wife attended some of our CWT campouts so many years ago. In addition to being a hunter, he was an outstanding photographer and he enjoyed cooking some excellent meals, which he often shared on Facebook. Many of you have enjoyed the book he co-wrote with Duwane Adams, "How to Hunt Coues Deer". He hunted and fished in 39 states and 10 Canadian provinces. He also hunted and fished in Africa, New Zealand and Mexico. Mandile began a part-time writing career in 1969 and has been a full-time freelance outdoor writer/photographer for 38 years. His 30-year active membership in the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA) included three years on the board of directors. He also served on the board of the Western Outdoor Writers (WOW) and the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA), which he helped create in 2005. He was a contributing editor for ARIZONA HUNTER & ANGLER magazine for 10 years, and wrote seven years as the Arizona Editor for OUTDOOR LIFE magazine. Mandile wrote his book -- HOW TO HUNT COUES DEER -- with noted guide Duwane Adams in 2003, and the Arizona Game & Fish Commission selected him as "Outdoor Writer of the Year" for 2011. More than 2,100 of his articles and 1,300 of his photos (50 covers) have appeared in OUTDOOR LIFE, FIELD & STREAM, SPORTS AFIELD, CABELA'S OUTFITTER JOURNAL, PETERSEN'S HUNTING, PETERSEN'S FISHING, AMERICAN HUNTER (NRA), DEER HUNTING, ROCKY MOUNTAIN GAME & FISH, CALIFORNIA G&F, WASHINGTON-OREGON G & F, ARIZONA HIGHWAYS, NORTH AMERICAN HUNTER, WHITETAILS UNLIMITED, NORTH AMERICAN WHITETAIL, OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHERS BIBLE, PENNSYLVANIA ANGLER, ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPORTSMAN, WESTERN OUTDOORS, BOWHUNTING WORLD, SOUTHWEST SPORTSMAN, SAFARI, ARIZONA WILDLIFE VIEWS, ARIZONA HUNTER & ANGLER, OUTDOORS UNLIMITED, several books and a few dozen other outdoor, conservation and travel publications. Rest in Peace Tony.

As I sit here waiting for the last few minutes I decided to post about a hunt rather than classifieds. Didn't get drawn again so I picked up an otc tag. March was very cold so I didn't hunt much. May came around and I picked up hunting again. First bull spotted early may. Too far and open to get close. I didn't for a bit after that. Toward the end of the month I have my first miss on this guy. it waited for me to get out of truck walk over to post and miss two shots I see alot of cows the next couple of weeks yesterday rolls around and i go into a spot where i seen cows previously. 20 minutes or so before last light. I Sail 3 rounds over a small branched bulls back. Strike 2 ill give myself one more shot with my handgun and consider a weapon im more comfortable with

Sold I built this rifle up with intentions of getting into PRS. It would be a great hunting rifle as well.Shortly after building it we found we’re having our 4th kid. It’s never been fired, literally no rounds down the barrel. The action is pretty dang smooth, I would venture to say close to my defiance actions. I really just need to buy a tag. Worst case I get out in the field and get in better shape and get the heck out of the valley.

You have made so many ridiculous comments, that we’re all tired of debating. Congratulations on the last word. If I were close, I’d buy you a beer and tell you, you’re ridiculous to your face.

Only Greg would try to sell a heater when it is 110* outside. LOL! Free bump for a good seller.

Good lunch! I make a smoothie with blueberries, spinach and protien powder for breakfast and dinner. Lunch is usually baked or grilled fish with asparagus. Been helping a ton. @ctafoya - I go to the office to morrow, so it is their fault when arbys sauce comes a knockin!

I care exactly ZERO about laws affecting handguns (and possible assault rifle buyback programs) in Canada, and I care even less whether their prime minister feels like you can use a gun for self protection in that country. I do however, find it amusing that I occupy enough space in your head to cause you to keep calling me out in your posts, though. 😂

First one, I dont remember the name: Anyways, it wasn't fully enclosed and I didn't like not having full protection. Alaska Guide Creations: Too big. Felt like a VW on my chest..lol. They may have streamlined their setups now, but at the time, just too big. Well built, but too big for me. Sitka: Too small for my Ziess 10x42's. Kuiu: As stated earlier, my Ziess Victory HT's are taller than most 10's and the Kuiu worked good, even with the eyecups extended. Also, its more streamlined and not so bulky even after I attached a rangefinder holder(Kuiu) to it. One hand operation can be an issue if your bino's are on the bigger size. I've gotten pretty good at it tho.

So we barley made it though the tunnel fire and this one comes right on it's heals. We were evacuated about noon today. We are lucky my parents live about 3 miles away so we have a place to stay but a lot are no so lucky. The tunnel fire got about 25 homes I think and this has the potential to do the same PXL_20220612_211649374_TS.mp4
