Yup, wind, wind, and more wind. Had the kayaks on the water for 10 minutes. No point when you paddle your butt off and go backwards. Didn't even get a line wet. Fishing in the wind isn't my idea of fun. Hung out with my wife and dog for two days instead. Beer kept is cool during the day, whiskey kept us warm at night. Good weekend.

Quail blows dove out of the water! It’s really good. To me it’s not even comparable. Dove is a dark meat, quail is a white meat.

If any of these male jags identify as females then according to our administration, they can get pregnant.

The Aspen Lodge in Alpine AZ has been purchased by a California couple about 2 years ago. They have become the epicenter of support for leaving the feral horses that have invaded the Apache forest alone. We, as hunters recognize the destruction that the horses have caused all across the state, but this business has refused to acknowledge the damage the horses have created and have welcomed the Salt River Wild Horse Management group to their facility. They are actively supporting leaving the horses alone and letting them continue to breed and multiply. There are other businesses where we as sportsmen can spend our dollars. It is my hope that word of their ignorant support of feral horses becomes a business detriment to them. If you are planning summer trips, a lodge to spend your evenings in during hunts.......Locate another business. This has been verified and documented by a number of people so I am not stretching the truth in any way. Please spread the word! I'm sold on December in Mexico. I treat it like an Oct. Arizona hunt. Being able to get first crack at them, they've not been shot at so their out and about. I've had luck 2x during this month

I'm selling my HST that is in very good condition. No scratches or dings and glass is clear. Always well taken care of and never dropped. Has some faint marks from the rings you can see in one of the pics. It spent it's life on a 6.5 Creedmoor so no heavy recoil. The box and manuals are a little brown from being stored in my garage.

You should have shore fished at first light. Looks like you were higher then Woods Canyon. I imagine it's tough to Kyak in the wind and fish. Too much going on.

I grew up fishing that lake. The last 10 years I lived in the valley I wouldn’t even go close on the weekends. Sad that lake has turned into such a dangerous place.

Thought I would post some of my 21-22 season. Overall was a good season as I did not get out much due to being sick.

Never got around to posting this but managed to get this guy last pred season. First one so making it a rug for the wall. 100 yard shot dropped it.

Fishing this weekend was good, as usual. Caught plenty of rainbows and browns Saturday (focused on fly fishing that day). Several were very nice, with one brown being a real hog. Switched to spinning gear on Sunday and had fun with the smallies. Good times!

First stand of the morning started before and ended during sunrise. My FoxPro stopped calling with bad rechargeables 8 minutes into the shotgun-friendly stand so I broke out a quick hand call to keep things moving. 2 coyotes snuck into 60 yards during my second breath and the lead male caught the decoy moving nowhere near the cry of my hand calling. Gone. Second rifle-friendly stand had 3 coyotes hung up and circling each other at 275 yards between the 12-15 minute mark with backup batteries. Watching comfortably, I guess jackrabbit didn't sound good for breakfast. I lined up the rifle on a broadside dog and while exhaling, noticed another pacing to the front. After the following inhale, preparation met opportunity and I squeezed it off. One dropped, another stumbled hard, and the third ran straight away. I walked up to finish the second with my 12 gauge just feet away, but consider this to be my first 2 coyote in one shot. Third stand is one of my favorites and almost always produces an opportunity. Today was no different. 5 minutes in and a single coyote was seen charging from several hundred yards away. 2 minutes later, another is walking a ridgeline again 275 yards out. I wait until it stops, shoot, it drops and when the FoxBang kicked in the pup in distress, the original coyote was facing me 10 yards behind the call. Took a frontal shot at 60 yards and another one bites the dust. Fourth and fifth stands were blanks. It was a great morning and weather to be out thinning a predator-heavy hunting ground last called 9 months ago. All coyotes were harmed with leftover 100 gr SGK deer loads from a 243 Win, which has turned out to be an incredible all-around bullet so far.
