12 pointsSpecial thanks to @Crazymonkey for the giveaway. That shows tremendous generosity. This kid is a serious hunter, with 3 elk and 2 deer under his belt at the age of 14. He’s broken 25 straight on the trap field, and took second place at the Ben Avery trap shoot for sctp a couple months ago. He’s also teaching his hound to run lions, hopefully.

2 pointsI saw a guy walking out with the only bison skull I saw. Small skull. Has to be the one, but I have absolutely no way of identifying the buyer. You should have posted this BEFORE the expo, I would have happily picked it up for you.

1 pointI am looking to get into a home gym setup. Looking for a power rack, bumper plates, bench, bars, mats or lifting platform, medicine balls, and potentially a treadmill. I have a meopta s2 straight spotter I'd like to try and trade. I can come to you if interested in trade so you can look at spotter and obviously me the gym stuff.

1 pointFemales still had eggs and sacks weren't super bloody. Males were blackened at the boat but didn't turn fully until they sat in the livewell a while. It is almost there and the weather this week is going to do it! Sunday could be a tough day on the water with the wind, though.

1 pointOn a couple of the AZ hunting pages on FB there were some posts about the auction. You may try there too. Good luck.

1 pointIt was a pleasure to meet with Lawson and his dad Saturday. They elected to take a modle 70 given there choice of the three guns I had offered.I can tell you guys we will see some pictures of this kids success with his new gun.So I've offered to upgrade our second place winner to the 1903 and a soft case if he would in turn let our 3rd place winner have the other 50 gift card.Wich he's happy to do .I can tell you guys I will be doing this again next year just with new in the box guns .So if you have caliber recommendations I'm all ears .It would be primarily for elk but I'm not against going to a lighter caliber.

1 pointThe most deer you’ll ever see out feeding is during a light sprinkle in the fall

1 pointSaw "AZTroutman" at the G&F Expo today buying some really nice deadheads through a buddy so his name couldn't be associated on the auction ledger... G&F officers recognized him, and mentioned the fact they would not be auctioning off the Powerline Buck.

1 pointI didn't misspeak. I am in total agreement they hurt average hunters. I would like to think this is going to make it harder for an outfitter to book a nonresident hunter when they don't know if a unit is going to be open or not. I didn't see it but there was also a cap of 10% of total tags allocated to nonresidents discussed earlier. I am hoping that is still a go. The areas I hunt in the Dec/Jan hunts have been overrun with guided NR hunters the last 2-3 years. Maybe this slows it down. If it doesn't the "average Joe" is screwed again. I am not sure I like the quota system but something needs to be done. I would have preferred to see a draw but with the huge influx of people, drought, loss of habitat, predation and hunting pressure the desert mule deer herd needs some help.

1 pointFlatline the best and the 23 unit is downloable in Avenza. Works with no internet as well.

1 pointI worked as a certified welding inspector for a power plant. The welders we have are amazing. Each got their start in every way mentioned and more. Here is my opinion- if he wants to weld the copper mines or power company is a great place to start. He should take every opportunity to grind, cut and strike an arch. Great welding is an art that has to be developed by hands on. That said the college will provide a great opportunity for metallurgy and theory most on the job guys don’t get. Production welders follow welding plans prepared by an engineer. It’s like a recipe for each weld. Point being, he’ll be give angle, technique, rod required, inter pass temperature, weld thickness and such. Good hunting for your son’s future-

1 pointGot home today, think that cold front shut them down, Wednesday was nautical with the wind, caught one bass. Thursday was a great day weather wise but crappie weren't biting on the salt end. Ended up with some more bass which was fun! Talked to some guys at the dock they had been fishing the last 4 days with not much luck. They fished the Tonto end Thursday and caught 15 nice slabs, don't figure... They probably were on fire today with the warm up lol... Was fishing not catching but a good time. Good Luck!

1 pointWhy not get some quotes from contractors? Do you have plans to submit for a permit? If so then start calling subs and get quotes for concrete, framing, electrical, drywall etc. Not hard to do but time consuming and can be very overwhelming for a homeowner especially if you aren't a tradesman and don't understant the process or how to schedule the work or control the payments to the subs. Don't be eager to take the lowest bid either. Make sure they have licenses and are bonded and they will lean your property, which is normal. Check with the Registra of Contractors to make sure their license is up to date and there are no outstanding judgements against them. For every licensed contractor there are 20 gypsey contractors out there who will want 50% down "to buy materials" and you will never see them or your money again. People see a slab and a bunch of 2x4's and think, hey I can do that. Most can't, a few can. Also talk to your homeowners insurance to see what they will want to see in order to insure it.

1 pointWith the scorching earth temps coming and the draw a ways off I thought I'd share some walk about photos from the early part of the year since I wont be going back in for awhile. While waiting for the fog to lift during a cold day in January, I glassed up this little treasure precariously perched on a small hillside. Being that is was a canyon over and I was standing in 8" of snow, I left it until the spring. Spring rolls around, it gets hot and sheer cliff shed hunting is way harder than it looks. We had an idea of its location but it took some doing to find it. Sneaky sucker this one.. Finally liberated it from its hillside prison...... Sadly, based on its condition, about five years too late. After the rescue mission, we noticed some gang signs from the OG hunters. A few more One of my favorites some obligatory ATLs to finish the trip Not a huge haul. Always find cool stuff in those hills. Daaamn sure wouldn't want to actually kill a bull in there without access to a Chinook and a seasoned pilot but, its nice to visit. Be safe out there and thanks for looking Dave

1 pointI feel very proud and grateful that my 10% goes to help others and build the church. Do what you do and worship the way you want to worship but you won't hear me knocking on the way you want to believe and worship. Can you say JERK..........SERIOUS......................ZEKE!!!
-
1 pointHere’s a thumbs down and get out of here with that stuff! If you’ve read and believe the word of God, you’d understand why people are paying tithing and going to church. To come on here and call someone’s beliefs a scam that you know nothing about makes you look foolish. This is one of the things I believe in as a Latter Day Saint. “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.” Hopefully you can understand that.

1 pointPersonally, I think archery only seasons should be restricted to compounds & traditional equipment, drawn and held under the stress of holding the draw weight. Anybody not capable of doing so needs to get a firearm/muzzleloader permit. Got no issue with a champ permit for archery only seasons providing the issue is mobility and not the inability to use a compound or traditional bow. IIRC, archery is supposed to be a primitive weapon season. A scoped airbow capable of 450 fps is not what I'd call a primitive weapon. FLAME ON!
