I can appreciate this perspective. But 10+ people to hunt an animal I can’t wrap my brain around this logic and think it’s a black eye to western hunting.
I have a few rifles with wood stocks that shoot 1/2’ moa. Tikka .260 rem, two 1954 model 70’s one in .308 and the other a .270 . Both old Winchester’s. Nothing wrong with wood stocks. Most of the time it’s the person pulling the trigger. 👍Bump for a nice rifle and a excellent round.
Jealous? Hee haw. posse hunting is nothing but a clown 🤡 show. Nobody is jealous of try-Hards. Hope Az adopts something similar. If you need a small community to kill a mature animal you need to hang it up.
52 cleaned and primed with fed 210
118 uncleaned and some deprimed and some still primed
No more than 4x shot and Annealed after every shot.
$100 for all, not splitting
Remington 700 BDL 7mm Mag, 24 inch barrel, no scope, Weaver rings, unknown round count, bought used. Didn't really shoot it much, best I got out of it was about an inch at 100. Crown shows wear. 700.00. Located in Chandler.
SOLD 18" fluted and threaded barrel with 1 in 9 twist. Takes AR mags. Chambered 5.56. Laminate stock. DNZ 1" scope mount with a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9x40. Had intentions of putting it in a folding chassis and upgrading the optic. Wound up shooting a couple yotes and a bobcat the first year I had it and it's been in the safe since. Shoots Federal 55grn game king bthp and 62 grn Speer gold dots sub moa.
Includes one 10 round mag and 50 rounds of the 55grn federal ammo. It deserves a better optic but very capable varmint slayer as is.
$600 with the Nikon scope. $550 without. If looking up specs, there have been many different models made. This one is $570+ for the bare rifle before fees.
That last sentence is the most important and accurate take home sentence I’ve ever seen written on a hunting forum.
“Posse hunting isn’t for me”
”Long range shots aren’t for me”
”Salt licks aren’t for me”
”magnum muzzleloaders with scopes aren’t for me”
”compound bows aren’t for me”
”private land hunting isn’t for me”
”guides aren’t for me”
”DIY isn’t for me”
”landowner tags aren’t for me”
I can go on and on, but the take home is that certain things aren’t for everyone, and that’s ok. Maybe I love posse hunting and solo hunting isn’t for me. That’s the cool thing about hunting is you can do it the way you want. Don’t make laws just because you don’t agree with one thing or another. Just don’t do that thing.
I say kill them ,grind them and hamburgers for all the state or federal inmates in AZ. Lots of other countries eat horses. These probably don't taste much different than deer or elk or grass fed beef for that matter.
Wanting to hunt has nothing to do with it!! I love to hunt as much as anyone on here, but as I stated unforseen things happen in life that makes hunting take a back seat. 14 years of applying should show my determination. I don’t think your points should Be stripped when things happen!! Arizona takes your loyalty point if you miss a year & I think that is justified. To lose all your points is BS. I hope based off your comment that you don’t have a life happens moment since your the only one on your toes that like to hunt!!
It will definitely limit the “huge guide party” hunts with lots of finders out looking…which I assume is the intent. I’m sure others are right and the loopholes will be there though.
