Things turned out really good and good results. Tons of door prizes for those who were able to stick around and plenty of Frybread. On a side note I believe 2 of the Cattle Associations are still paying bounty for predators. You can contact them for exact details and requirements but it's always been open to everyone including non-members. DAN

Was out chasing mule deer this January and came across this shed! I spent a couple hours looking for the match but no luck.

I would be reluctant to call unless you know what you are doing and that takes a lot of time. I would bugle just to try and locate bulls but I would personally not try to get them to come in with calling.

My family had some tags this spring and I made a video of our javelina hunts. Check out and let me know what you think!

You’re both looking at it wrong. You have 10 points this year but you had 9 last year so you have to look at those numbers. If everything stays the same (it won’t) you won’t draw in the bonus pass. 15 tags go to residents in the bonus pass. There were 17 people who had 10 points and had it as a second choice. Not all of them drew their first choice. Then at your point level (9) there were 39 people who were in the bonus pass. No idea how many drew. but you’re not a guarantee to draw in the bonus pass.

I think rather than a leather tool it's a tool used for driving a gear on to a shaft or bearings out of a hub.

Bump for a killer deal. Great rifle, incredible round. At $550, you could get it threaded and put a brake on it for almost the same price as this new at most places. Cheapest I've found it online is $610 and you still pay taxes and FFL fees.

It was the color of the pin that designates the number of bobcats in this case that had been called in. For a bobcat if I remember it was 1, 5 25 and 50 and coyote it was 5, 25, 50, 100

I hope you can take both weeks off but if not definitely focus on later rather than earlier. The last week moon will be waning and rut activity will increase, especially daytime. Keep us posted on your progress with scouting and when hunt rolls around I’ll throw you a 🦴. Focus on locating cow elk and the bulls will come. Water is the source of life so locate that and then work away from it and find elevated dark timbered northern facing slopes for bedding areas. Use for maps to find topography lines that have consistent line spacing with areas 2/3 up slopes that the lines widen creating benches the elk love to bed on. First light thermals will be drawing down still and mid morning they switch and pull up hill. Never disregard the wind to chase elk. Work perpendicular to it when you can and if wind goes bad back out and regroup. Once you educate them your odds of success drop tremendously. Good luck, Mark

Get a map of the unit for starters. You want one that shows forest roads and water sources.Look up your area on Google earth it will show water and possible places to look .Then just get out and spend time in the unit glassing and looking for elk. Maps plus or flatline are good maps also it takes time in the unit to figure out where they are and where they can be when the time comes to hunt. But time in the field is paramount to having any luck.

I had no dog in that fight (didn't give a crap who won that game) but this pretty well sums up how I saw the exchange. I enjoyed most of Tony's posts', but seems he got pretty butt hurt and just said "See ya"

Kevin, not that I disagree with you but how did you come about this information? Our daughter lives in the area you described. She raises goats and has free-range chickens and never lost any to predators with the exception of losing a few chicks to hawks, nor are her goats in a closed barn at night. Her property borders the forest.

I've been learning Taxidermy for a few years now. The past 6 months I've been doing Artifical velvet. In August I took in this AZ OTC Bull. Unfortunately the original velvet was destroyed. When I accepted the job, I had no idea how difficult it was really going to be. Unfortunately the Bull had been left outside and the velvet had dried. I initially didn't think that was going to be a problem. WOW, I was Wrong!!! When I tried to get it off with my 3000 PSI pressure washer, the velvet didn't move. The pressure washer, literally had zero effect. I was shocked!!! On to plan B. I had to soak the antlers in a kiddie pool for weeks. As you can imagine, the smell was HORRIBLE. After 3 weeks, I was finally able to remove the velvet with the power washer. Unfortunately, the antler tips were in terrible condition. They nearly fell apart in my hands. Ultimately, I had to rebuild 5 tips. Once the velvet was off, the rack had to sit outside until the smell disappeared. This again, took a lot longer then expected. It took 5 months before it didn't stink. Once the smell was gone, the rest was easy. I think it came out really nice!!!

Unfortunately no. Never saw them again after I videoed the bigger one hard horned. It wasn't for the lack of trying. We ended up with these two instead.
