9 pointsIt was cold with wind chill in the mid 20’s opening morning. Saw nothing but deer and coyotes. We had to walk around to check out small cuts out of the wind. We found just 2 pigs feeding and were able to double up at 52 yards. We stayed around for another day and found a couple more herds for next year’s HAM trip.

6 pointsGlassed for a couple hours and we didn't see anything but deer. Walked in a little further and looked on the other side, spotted pigs before we even sat down. Stalk was on. Got to about 30 yards, saw a big boar standing under a Ocotillo and let the Dan Wesson eat. Hit him hard. Followed him up, still on his feet in some brush. One more at 5 feet and tagged out at 1015.

2 pointsI took a snapshot from google earth and outlined the unit. I transposed 200 red dots to account for 200 bull elk tags. Multiply the 200 hundred tags 6.5 (think creedmoor) times and this will account for the issued tags from the department. For bull elk only. now I am an avid hunter and enjoy the out doors as much as the next guy. But man this can’t be any good for long term or the natl forests.

2 pointsYup, we need opportunity units. The terrain in 22n is a great place for opportunity imo. Lots of hiding spots with how thick it can be. I think the majority of guys on hunting forums, like trophy hunts vs. Opportunity, but the majority of hunters don't go on hunting forums.

Life is short, if that’s what you want to do get after it. Outfitting isn’t any different than any other business it depends on how good of a business man you are and how much hard work you put in. 1 pointRifle is sold to another member. Azelkhunter is a class act. He went through the trouble of setting up a deal and offered to buy the rifle when the other fellow changed mind. It was not necessary, but I appreciate his efforts. Like everyone I have met on this forum, I'd deal with him anytime!

1 pointI did the guiding thing for several years. After a while I realized it was not for me. I take a lot more pleasure in helping family/friends, as opposed to someone I don’t know. A long time ago, a guy that I have a tremendous amount of respect for explained to me that once money is added into the mix, everything changes. Man was he right. Having said that though, I wish you luck in whatever you decide!

1 pointAnyone ever see a droptine/kicker on a coues? First I’ve ever seen and have hunted coues for 10 years. Found him on the last day, happy as heck. He doesn’t score well but is a cool buck to say the least.

0 pointsThis pic is why we need predator control. We lost 20 goats to a lion in two nights. Just 1 of the pens pictured. Yes I'm an eye witness to the lion at 1AM in my pj's and no gun in hand.
