This is the campfire. Anyone can ask anything they want. I am not self-employed, doesn't have any relevance. I get sent to where the jobs are on very short notice, so that is why I didn't email months ago. Not qualified? I've been in my trade over 20 years. Name one tradesman that has always known everything and never had to ask a simple question. Go on, I'll wait. Go back and find where I was begging for help. I asked a few questions. This is an attempt to get my ducks in a row before I show up at a job site that will more than likely not have their chit together anyway based on my preliminary conversations with them yesterday. Seeing how that couldn't even tell me with 100% certainty what equipment was required on my truck is a good indication I am correct I can tout all my certs, qualifications, projects I have managed, been a part of too, but that is not the point of my original post. I just asked a few questions as I have not driven a POV on a mine site before. Glad to see that you usually chit on everyone else's threads too. Maybe one day you can quit being a douche every time anyone posts anything.

So with this new trail cam ruling I encountered an interesting conundrum> I have trail cams on my 5 acre property(barely inside city limits) where my shop is located along with the chickens etc. Trail cams are/were strictly to monitor human as well as coyote/dog traffic that might show up on my property! Through the years I have had pictures of dogs, elk, coyotes, deer and human visitors. I really just check cameras, let neighbors know if their dogs are harassing my chickens and go on with life out at the shop. And, just like this guy knows exactly what laws went into effect......................

MEC 600 JR is a simple way to go. You can do 2 3/4" or 3". It's a single stage press where you move the empty from station to station by hand. You can add an auto primer feed which makes reloading even simpler. Changing from 2 3/4" to 3" is a matter of adjusting the main tower stem by pulling a screw and inserting it into a different slot. Current price about $250.

Dude post a price this isn't Facebook or don't post at all.

So no public price? Thats usually how you sell an item.

Exactly. Hunter ethics, respect and consideration of others there’s always other places and ways to hunt

One of my favorite fields to coyote hunt in 5bn. I shot one under the big lone juniper on the left last weekend

Yup, I shot one in January about 10 years ago. Regretted it for the rest of the year. They now gotta be giants to even think about shooting in January.

Had this big herd hammering water 8am 12pm 4pm in December. Over the years I think I’ve got most pics at night of them drinking.

As parents, we all like to make our kids laugh and show them a good time, but as parents, it is our responsibility to make the right decision to keep them as safe as possible. I'd bet almost 100% of the members here support personal agency, yet in today's world, that is a fleeting characteristic and it's always someone else's fault for someone making poor decisions that result in undesirable outcomes. IMHO, that is what happened here. Eddie

Blame falls squarely on 1 PERSON, not the gov't. Its like blaming gun manufacturers for shooting deaths...
  17. 1 point
Only one person to blame and it isn’t the govt trying to prevent or control every situation. Put the accountability where it belongs. Pool builders blamed for kids drowning or car manufacturers blaming for leaving kids in the back seat or McDonald’s for being fat? He knew what he was doing. He knew the risks. Blame that truck too. Crazy attitude.

where at in Cali? I drive there quite a bit for work. Might be able to coordinate a drop off if its close enough to one of my job sites.

Neighbor builds custom Mopar parts and has a barn full of them critters. Cudas, Demons, Chargers. Found this in his driveway this morning.

Me too. Looks like I might be solo for most of it, but I have so much fun chasing these little dudes with the 10mm.

Every couple of years I draw my December tag. It’s somthing I look forward to, preparing online maps and comparing previous hunts. I set off in the low country glassing along the way. My dads always been big on not walking past one just to get where you wanna go. But I knew exactly where I wanted to be, as most of us do by now. We know what tags we wanna draw , where we want to hunt and most importantly where those better bucks should be. It was December 12th and it was hot. The clouds we’re starting to form overhead and the wind had picked up, making the sun beating down a little more bearable. About then a small 3x3 had started working across the ridge next to me , exposing himself on a rock out crop he paused and looked back over his shoulder. The big fork showed himself, I could see his crown was tall. I almost immediately made up my mind. Thinking to myself “ are you really gonna shoot a fork?!?! But at 540 yards I could see his main beams coming around the front and his eyegaurds were as good as they were ever gonna be. I set up my phone scope, and dialed my rifle . The wind was picking up, confidence in my gear I settled into my rifle. The buck stopped broadside and I squeezed it off. Jumping to my phone I replayed and confirmed I made a good shot. My bullet had drifted forward, but it was in the shoulder and he was down. I’m awfully proud of the decision I made to take this old buck. I honestly tried talking myself out of it at one point but in the end he’s a trophy like no other I now have! The taxidermist has him at 6-8 years old and he went 93.25. it’s a passion I couldn’t imagine living without, Merry Christmas Coueswhitetail members , Happy New Year and God Bless! IMG_7259.MOV

I own both. Two of each. They’re both great. Both have advantages in given categories and neither make the other obsolete. Match your load to your circumstances with either and you’ll do alright. the biggest argument among 308 haters is that the 308 has waaay more windage than the CM. That’s very true if you’re not compensating at all and you’re running light bullets. My best CM load has 51” of 10MPH wind at a grand at my average hunting elevations and temps. My best 308 is 55” but comes with higher recoil yet also has over 200’# more energy. This is comparing the 147 versus the 208. Both heavy for caliber options. One of my favorite 308 loads has 62” of wind (176ATIP loaded fast) which is 11” further out than my CM load. Either way, it’s a missed target. Any long range shooter worth their salt would never not compensate for wind. It’s the misjudged that causes the errors. An error does NOT mean you’ll miss by 11” more inches versus the CM. Let’s say you judge 10MPH but it’s actually 7MPH. It’s a 3.3” difference not 11”. The gap is much closer than most shooters realize and a bad wind call is a bad wind call. Flatter trajectory is helpful but not critical since the advent of affordable range finders. Lower recoil is nice too but between the two isn’t a dealbreaker. 308 Advantages = Phenomenal barrel life, higher impact energy. 6.5 CM Advantages = lower recoil, flatter trajectory, slightly better windage. 308 offers manageable recoil and the CM offers reasonable barrel life. Windage difference is negligible unless using old bullet styles and lighter weights. For deer size game, both have adequate energy. pick one in a quality platform and use heavy for caliber bullets and it’s hard to fail with either. Personally I prefer the 308 but I don’t feel handicapped with the CM.

If you like one of these rifles and it shoots accurately then spend the time and money on ammo and practicing. 98% of the misses out in the field are due to the operator not understanding how his rifle shoots. Practice, practice. The best time to practice is coming up too. I shoot 90% of my high powered rifle rounds from February to May. If I'm shooting a bunch of rounds in the fall I have failed to be a good hunter. Guns should be setup in the spring and only double checked in the fall. When you shoot in the spring there is no pressure to get it done fast and you can make adjustments to your gun or loads. Go dent primers!!!!!!!!!
