Took my cousin and his son out on his youth pig hunt. Glassed up 4 different herds over the weekend. Finally found a hers that wasn't 2 miles away after multiple long stalk and losing the herd we Finally got in on a herd that didn't move on us! 120yd shot with the.243 and it was over. This was his 1st big game animal and he was so excited ! Sorry the pictures are sideways.

Thumbs up I gave your post was for the picture not the drought. We need some more moisture for sure.

Yup, I shot one in January about 10 years ago. Regretted it for the rest of the year. They now gotta be giants to even think about shooting in January.

I rarely see javelina out at first light when it is cold This year I watched a herd bed down under a large juniper around 5:00 in the evening. I got there at sunrise the next morning and they did not come out from under that tree until after 10:00 am.

Hiked around in the low country on Saturday to check things out. Sure is getting dry. Some big tanks still have frozen water in them, but the smaller ones are dry. Saw a dozen deer and 2 elk. No coyotes were hurt in this hike. Hope we get some weather in here for February/March.

Anyone ever see a droptine/kicker on a coues? First I’ve ever seen and have hunted coues for 10 years. Found him on the last day, happy as heck. He doesn’t score well but is a cool buck to say the least.

Sounds like Bunger is circling the drain? I bought steel from them, never contracted them.

Had this big herd hammering water 8am 12pm 4pm in December. Over the years I think I’ve got most pics at night of them drinking.

Don't forget to get there way earlier than you need to in order to suffer through a safety video... I was on and off mine sites for years. Good luck.

In my experience, they do not have to water all that often. They eat cactus and roots with contain lots of water. They will still hit water, but they are less dependent on it vs. other animals.

Yucca are by far the best for walking sticks. I have been making them for over 40 years & still use a few of them that are over 30 years old. The issue is finding sticks that are tall, straight, & heavy enough. They are abundant all over Southern AZ.

Driving home this morning saw a herd off the road, got out and they gave no cares. 55 yards. 8 deer, no buck

Two of my boys and one niece drew the general hunt in unit 32 during the first week of November. It was super warm and the bucks were doing there best to stay out of sight. We worked really hard, hiked near and far and the kids kept grinding. These kids work really hard to be proficient with the rifles they are using and we were blessed to fill all three tags, including a first buck for Carson. Below are some pictures from the hunt and a link to a video I put together on youtube. https://youtu.be/PAwnyyqWHc0

Was able to tag out on this guy yesterday evening. Snuck in and he walked right in front of me at 50 yards.

Maybe you should wait another 8 years to apply so you feel better about your chances! 😁

Which weapon? Looks like you could only draw 7e or 11m for September archery. You could get any November archery tag. Late rifle you can get pretty much any of the units except the alternative management units (1, 3a/c, 23, 27, 9, 10). Muzzy, most of the late but none of the early. If you can’t pass a raghorn type bull they are availabale in any unit so just pick one with a weapon you know you can get it done on and go hunting. I personally would go to CO and hunt a OTC area and knock a small bull off my bucket list and save my AZ points did a unit and hunt that can produce a big bull more consistently.
