I've seen them in unit 10 on Boquillas ranch and my BIL saw them on his unit 9 elk hunt 15 or so years ago.

I must work for the AZGFD because I do a little research and I don't bash them for every decision they make that I don't agree with.

Sorry about the poor quality but it was starting to get late in the morning and I was getting heat waves. And he was at least a mile and a half off. I tried to cut a little bit out of that video and enlarge it but it didn’t turn out too well. You can’t really tell but he’s a 4 x 4. he is the third biggest buck I found this year. Going back this morning to see if I can find him again

Thanks for the lead. I decided not to change loads to the 156...but noticed they have Berger 140 vld hunting in stock, which is what I have a great load for. SCORE! Thanks!

That wasn't a knock, but a serious question. Do you work for AZGFD?

No.......using the drugs taken off a person would be similar......

I will be posting pics of animals with coordinates/pins attached. Once you look at those pics, by law, you are not allowed to hunt in that area. Brilliant! Additionally, I will also post pics with no animals, and I think that now means you can't hunt anywhere else because you now know that where the pic was taken, there were no animals so they must be somewhere else and you know that because of the pictures.

My application is in. Thank you so much to everyone that took the time to reply both here and the numerous PMs I received. It really helped to solidify my thoughts and now I just sit back and wait, fingers crossed that the vicious point creep doesn't bite me in the butt....

Was able to tag out on this guy yesterday evening. Snuck in and he walked right in front of me at 50 yards.

I hear you, I cant imagine not hunting for 23 years! I hunt every year, been fortunate to hunt some places many people will never get to. Just haven't drawn elk in Arizona. Truth be told, if I had known how long it would take to draw, I never would have applied for early rifle. At some point, you accrue enough bonus points, that only applying for the early rifle makes since.

23 years ago I put in for an easy to draw unit and went hunting. I cant imagine waiting 23 years to go hunting.

Anybody ever read Pat McManus' story about huntin' rigs? Basically, any rig your buddy owns is a "nice little huntin' rig" It could be a Toyota Corolla and you compliment him on the short wheelbase and front-wheel drive to help climb steep dirt roads...... Years ago had a buddy and we both had "company trucks" mine was a 2000 chevy 2wd long bed and his was an '04 F150 2wd lb and I complimented him on the higher clearance than my Chevy. That weekend we were boondocking in the F150 for mulies and he almost put a rock through his oil pan. The look he gave me was priceless. A cross between being pissed and disbelief I talked him into it. The take-away is the best huntin' rig is the one your buddy owns, no matter what it is. 🤣

Unfortunately no. Never saw them again after I videoed the bigger one hard horned. It wasn't for the lack of trying. We ended up with these two instead.
