Was able to tag out on this guy yesterday evening. Snuck in and he walked right in front of me at 50 yards.

He has a broken down golf cart that might be in your budget.

Anybody ever read Pat McManus' story about huntin' rigs? Basically, any rig your buddy owns is a "nice little huntin' rig" It could be a Toyota Corolla and you compliment him on the short wheelbase and front-wheel drive to help climb steep dirt roads...... Years ago had a buddy and we both had "company trucks" mine was a 2000 chevy 2wd long bed and his was an '04 F150 2wd lb and I complimented him on the higher clearance than my Chevy. That weekend we were boondocking in the F150 for mulies and he almost put a rock through his oil pan. The look he gave me was priceless. A cross between being pissed and disbelief I talked him into it. The take-away is the best huntin' rig is the one your buddy owns, no matter what it is. 🤣

We had bad weather on opening weekend and got lucky on the second weekend. We were able to glass the herd bedded under an oak at 7:30 am and the herd didn’t get up til 9:45 am. Once they started feeding we began our stalk. Pops got off a 19 yard shot with the crossbow and I was able to get a 15 yard shot with the recurve.

Don't use the term Grey ghost Don't pronounce coues as 'cows' deer (Newberg does this and his name is now a bad word) Don't mention you're from California Don't use arizona as a descriptive noun. For example, I have 27 arizona elk points Don't use the term(s) otc, diy, public land hunting. Otc is a touchy subject right now. We all hunt diy for the most part and Az is 65% public land with another 25% being reservation. Dont use the the term peccarry. They are javelina. Don't mention all of the other states you hunt. It doesn't matter, you are asking for advice in this state. Don't complain that you have been on two hunts and still have not tagged out. Don't bag on g&f. Us veteran hunters will do that. You don't have enough street cred yet. Keep them coming.

I was out hunting unit 21. I've been seeing multiple bucks on a daily basis since Saturday. Today I sitting mid level on a hill glassing. All of a sudden two A10 Thubderbolts go flying by NAP of the Earth style, I'd say about 300 to 500 ft AGL. Was a sight to see. By the time I got my camera out they were gone along with the roar of freedom!

I think the ground pounders had a client that killed a nice coues recently.

I read on another website that one of the coues tags was filled with a buck under 90” and one of the bull tags was filled with a small bull. Good for those hunters on filling the tags.

I was gifted a Savage 24 22mag/20 guage when I was 10, I'm 52 now. A lot of rifles have come and gone over the years but not that one. Had to replace the 22mag firing pin cause I wore the silly thing out!

The S2V are great once broke in. The heel tends to eat me raw during break-in.

Don’t post reminders about upcoming draw deadlines. It’s hard enough to get tags.

Do and share some of your research before asking for advice. Post back with the results of a hunt or tactic after receiving advice on the site. Be constructive more often than not. Keep threads on good topics on topic. Use some punctuation. Don't chit on someone's classified ad, send a pm, unless the ad is about selling puppies with no pictures.

Don’t start your post with "not asking for any honeyholes, just a place to start" especially when you have not looked at the G&F page under "where to hunt" if someone helps you on a hunt and you don’t report back or post an update, your man card and hunting license should both be pulled.

Every couple of years I draw my December tag. It’s somthing I look forward to, preparing online maps and comparing previous hunts. I set off in the low country glassing along the way. My dads always been big on not walking past one just to get where you wanna go. But I knew exactly where I wanted to be, as most of us do by now. We know what tags we wanna draw , where we want to hunt and most importantly where those better bucks should be. It was December 12th and it was hot. The clouds we’re starting to form overhead and the wind had picked up, making the sun beating down a little more bearable. About then a small 3x3 had started working across the ridge next to me , exposing himself on a rock out crop he paused and looked back over his shoulder. The big fork showed himself, I could see his crown was tall. I almost immediately made up my mind. Thinking to myself “ are you really gonna shoot a fork?!?! But at 540 yards I could see his main beams coming around the front and his eyegaurds were as good as they were ever gonna be. I set up my phone scope, and dialed my rifle . The wind was picking up, confidence in my gear I settled into my rifle. The buck stopped broadside and I squeezed it off. Jumping to my phone I replayed and confirmed I made a good shot. My bullet had drifted forward, but it was in the shoulder and he was down. I’m awfully proud of the decision I made to take this old buck. I honestly tried talking myself out of it at one point but in the end he’s a trophy like no other I now have! The taxidermist has him at 6-8 years old and he went 93.25. it’s a passion I couldn’t imagine living without, Merry Christmas Coueswhitetail members , Happy New Year and God Bless! IMG_7259.MOV

3rd gen (1996-2002) 4Runners are pretty hard to beat. If you can find one with the rear locking differential they are great awesome!

Per the game and fish commission, that wrote the rule, it is still perfectly legal to put out as many cameras as you want to.
