Anyone ever see a droptine/kicker on a coues? First I’ve ever seen and have hunted coues for 10 years. Found him on the last day, happy as heck. He doesn’t score well but is a cool buck to say the least.

often we practice a lot prior to Jan (or another hunt), then because we are hunting every opportunity we get, practice can take a back seat, we shoot very little and fundamentals can slip- make sure you are practicing / shooting in Jan during the hunt. The curse after shooting at an animal is prematurely dropping the bow arm to get a better view of the arrow, follow through is super important. Good luck, been where you are multiple times in 28 years...

Thanks for the offer. 1. My boys don't qualify for the giveaway (age) 2. I appreciate what you are doing and would rather see your offer go to a youth whom may not be able to afford one.

Randy Newberg bought the entire state out and then sold them to HUSH… he used G$F money to buy them all.

If you haven't already you could put them in for the free gun I'm giving away .It's a 30-06 but just had a axis works break installed .It should be just about the right weight to really take up the recoil and make for a great shooter for our younger generation. And its free !!! Its in the contest and giveaways section.

Keep doing what you are doing. Keep practicing, keep stalking and it will work out. If you have never killed a buck spot and stalk it takes quite a few tries and lots of effort before it happens. Once the 1st one happens they come in bunches. For a while nothing goes right and then nothing can go wrong. Back in 2006 or 2007 I missed a 110+ coues at 40 yards and a 175+ mule deer buck at 47. 7 days apart. Took years for that sting to stop. When I first started I figured it took 5 stalks before I got a shot. When I was hunting a lot of OTC I got to the point I got a shot about half of the stalks I did. Missed a lot still but had the opportunity

Had a buck pushing a couple does yesterday. We started making our way in. But ran into some pigs. My son ended up taking his first pig.

Without a tear down it could be a number of things including bad intake manifold gasket.

Lots of good advice. I went through the same thing. What helped me the most was what NOTAGS said. Once you decide to shoot don’t look at the antlers again. Pick a spot and concentrate on that spot only. And practice. If you’re getting close but missing you’re prime to wound an animal and lose it. That’s one of the worst feelings in the world.

Pick a spot. Don’t look at antlers. If you’re good at that range CONSISTENTLY when practicing, it’s nerves. Pick a spot. Make your mind forget antlers, animal, etc.... focus on hitting the target. And it goes without saying don’t take shots on deer on high alert or bad angles. Targets don’t move, animals will. It took me six years of archery elk hunting to finally get a cow in the early 90’s. Then I filled almost every bow tag I had after that for years, it’s a learning curve.

654321 clearly meant big game since he mentioned elk and deer in his response.

3rd gen (1996-2002) 4Runners are pretty hard to beat. If you can find one with the rear locking differential they are great awesome!

So, things that you learned flying are OK 48 hours later but game cameras info is forever. LOL

There's plenty of G&F folks on CWT. Another commonality they possess, they all asked for anonymity. I still have use for cams, like busting trespassers. Going to miss the amazing pics I've seen over the years. Personally I'm going to try and turn the cam ban into a positive by taking more live pics myself and posting them here.

Guess I’ll introduce myself here. I followed another friend of mine over here from the AZS board, he said it was a good place so I figured I’d check it out. Been living in AZ for over 30 years. I enjoy everything outdoors, but especially enjoy exploring off-road, and predator hunting. Never been deer hunting in my entire 50+ years of life, so you Coues hunters aren’t going to have to worry about me going after your trophy bucks 😎 just out there trying to protect the next generation from Wiley Coyote and friends. I repair machinery and equipment, weld and fabricate stuff for a living and do almost everything else to pay the bills. Hope to meet a few like-minded outdoorsmen and enjoy some positive interactions. Here’s a pic of a nice little fox I got a couple of months ago:

Im going out tomorrow to hunt and Im going to put some cameras out as well on some sheep waters. If deer happen to go there well that is their fault.

This guy was tracking some does. Due to life, I decided to call it quits with him.
