I spent most of December looking for deer up here in my neck of the woods and was quite disappointed with the quality of deer seen. Maybe January will be better. Here are a few pictures, some that I took with my camera, and some through my spotter and phone.

Had a buck pushing a couple does yesterday. We started making our way in. But ran into some pigs. My son ended up taking his first pig.

I got to 67 from a mature 3x3 but there was brush. I might have been able to shoot and the arrow could have gone over the brush and dipped in but I couldn’t decide if I really wanted him

I drew a red desert tag in WY 3-4 years back and had a great time and killed my personal best buck. I’ve been blessed with 2 AZ archery tags and killed two bucks that are very different shape but both scored within 1/8” of each other. I’ve killed three antelope in NM with rifle on landowner and draw tags. This is the best one. I burned a few points in colorado a couple years back and killed a nice buck with an open sight muzzy. That was a fun hunt! I live 15 minutes from the Montana line and have been lucky enough to get tags almost every year. My brother killed a good one in there last year but most of them are smallish but if you think antelope is good, you need to try antelope that have been eating alfalfa, peas, lentils and soybeans all summer! My home state of ND used to have OTC archery tags and my buddies and I used to give them heck back in the pre rangefinder days. I killed 3-4 of them with bow and drew a couple rifle tags. After a bad winter in 2013 I believe they shut all antelope hunting down and finally opened it a few years ago. I have 12-13 points and may draw soon. The first year they opened it was awesome. My brother killed this awesome 3 pronged buck that was the oldest antelope I’ve ever seen. They’ve shot the top end of since though. If you can’t tell, I LOVE antelope hunting. I’ve been fortunate enough to kill 15 antelope and have marching orders from my wife to make sure I kill atleast one every year in the future!

The last hunt for antelope was back in 2010 up in Wyoming when I drew a permit in unit 64. I have been putting in for points since and now have 11, so figure it is time to cash in the chips. I have been looking at draw odds, access, % public land, trophy quality, yada yada, and have not made a decision yet. Will see what the rest of the winter in Wyoming brings- hopefully mild. (I have 15 points for antelope in AZ, but all know that won't get you a cup of coffee). Photo is of the 2010 Wyoming antelope. The blaze cap was swapped out for photo purposes. Anyone else chomping at the bit for an antelope permit?

First shout out to members Hucker (and Ray), for coming out to help glass when i didnt even know he was gonna be there and Zackcarp for letting me hang my deer in his cooler. I love this website and i am thankful to be a part of it. Awesome guys on here, cant really even put it into words. Well last week i was horn hunting for mule deer, but sunday evening my middle boy Caliche said hed go out for the evening hunt so horn hunting took the back burner. Got to the spot and saw a dude walking up the hill and my heart kinda sank. Turned out member hucker and his buddy were also out there bird hunting and the guy walking up the hill was another archer heading to where we were gonna go. Stayed near the truck to glass but didnt see much. Headed out early the next morning. Got loaded up at the truck, said a quick prayer with my boy and headed out. Once at our spot i could see some black dots out in the distance i knew were deer. We got set up and it looke like they were all does, after awhile we saw a couple were small muley bucks, just then noticed 2 coues bucks coming in from our right. I looked at my phone an saw a text from hucker and ray.. "theres 2 muley bucks out there right now", dang Hucker and Ray came out to glass for me and i didnt even know they were there! We stayed long enough to make sure the big buck i was after wasnt around and decided to give chase. Everything was in my favor, clear path to where to start my stalk, the wind and a perfect little wash that led right to where the 2 bucks were standing. I was able to sneak up to 30 yards. Draw back and let loose, the buck jumped and ran 20 feet and started to hobble around for a second before laying down. I approached slowly to make sure, and he was already expired. Well i didnt know it but Hucker sent me another text while on my stalk "the big buck is out there right now!" Well... never saw the text and later my son was like i saw a big buck out there while you were stalking, i said how big? "He was freakin huge", lol oh well! Im happy and wouldnt trade in a successful stalk for my boy to watch at all, im stoked he was willing to get up early and go hike in the cold just to hang out with his pops. I called momma and she came out with my daughter and my new puppy she got me for Christmas for some pics. Meet Buck my new boston terrier pup. Hes now got to see 2 deer harvests and hes by my side all the time, love that little pup! Like i said, Bucky follows me everywhere...

I walked up on a guzzler yesterday that usually has numerous cams on it. Not a single one. I thought it was kinda cool.

Hope they ban sxs and quads. That would be a game changer

Ouch. Hope the gear is recovered or he gets restitution. More reason to remove all hunting/shooting decals off our vehicles and take valuables into the room at night.

Must add - Get an Airbow for all 'archery' hunts since you can no longer pull 80lbs comfortably yet make sure can do everything else you normally do. And Never get closer to an animal - shoot from as far way as possible and if it doesn't literally go belly up - walk away and blame the wind.

The Big Bucks are coming out of there lairs!!! Seen this big boy doing some chasing activity on a hot doe this passed weekend. He was very smart and didn't stray too far from the heavy brush lines. Made a mistake and bedded in a killable zone! Stalked up to 60 yards from him bedded and waited 2 hours for him to get up and stretch, freakin drilled him! He didn't go more than 70 yards before piling up!!! It's been an awesome year of hunting! I just want to thank God for making all this possible, hunting is something sacred in my family! Not literally but kinda lol.. We eat sleep and S%$t hunting! To many more hunting memories of lifetime. Happy hunting fellas God bless and be safe!!!! #MuleDeerPutasos #Masiso #BigBucksDriveMeNutz Ohhh and before I go I just want to thank my biggest supporter "trphyhntr"😂😂😂
