Just like to share my 12yo son's recent success! Many months of practicing and scouting paid off on Tuesday. My son took his first archery elk and I couldn't be more proud of him and we made some memories that will last a lifetime. I love my son so much and so happy that everything came together!!!

I was able to take one in 42 opening morning I only had 3 days to hunt so I ended up filling my freezer with a little guy.

Nothing really exciting to post about this. My buddy glassed him up within range, I got behind his gun and got a little lucky. Mark and I had a blast and went 2/2. He shot his the morning before, I shot mine yesterday.

For lots. What are you wanting in 410. Got 5-600 rounds

so will the other 8000 people. Odds will be very slim.

Where are you located? I have a handful I could give you. Not sure they’re quail rounds but they’ll likely do the job.

Buy or make 100 - 200 decoys, then watch the cranes for weeks to see where they are feeding and put your cranes out accordingly. No need for a guide, just time and money.

A lot of guys choose the easy way and want to be shooters instead of hunters! Good on you for sticking to your guns and attempting to figure it out for yourself. That’s the fun part.

It's been a problem for years, hopefully the G&F can do something to resolve it. Until then I will keep putting in for Raymond instead. 3 guides in a small area who all think they own spots mixed with DIY guys is a recipe for disaster. Proof here that the issue wasn't cameras, it's the guides.

Shot low on a Javi with my bow, hit a rock, snapped the carbon arrow in two and the front half double lunged him. Dead in 10 yards!

Ok now I'm getting in on the rant.....the online hunter ethics bonus point is nothing more than another way we Arizona residents will suffer. It does nothing for us but allows out of state residents a way to sit on their couch at home to gain a bonus point thereby increasing THEIR chance of drawing an AZ tag while giving azgfd 150 bucks a pop to increase their add campaigns to out of staters! Yah, I'm pissed about this one. At least before a non resident who wanted a bonus point had to come to Az and spend money at local businesses like hotels and restaurants!

Could have hit the "no-man's land" just under the spine and above the lungs. Nicked a lung just enough to cause the deer to bleed some and pass out. Deer got his wind back, and boogied out. I have seen that happen before.

I have been on several sheep captures both NV and AZ. They normally don't bother with class IV rams. Suspect they were trying for (hopefully) pregnant ewes to add some new members to the Harcuvars.

I’d rather be lucky than good. Congrats.

Good luck everyone! Haven’t been drawn in 4 years. Actually lucky I didn’t get drawn this year. Recovering from West Nile virus. It’s amazing that one little mosquito can screw you up so badly. Enjoy your hunts and the weather.

We'll be in 22 south 4 of us have tags. We have a house rented and it should be a blast. Cant wait to start glassing up some bulls in those nasty canyons there. Last time I didn't leave with the bull I wanted partially because its a gut check to dive off the edge of the canyons and think about dragging a bull out of the depths of some of the canyons there. This year I don't care if I'm coming out one sandwich bag at a time I'm overdue.

I have hunted an area in unit 23 on and off for years and have seen fighter jets come roaring just above the tree tops and following some of the canyons that are in the area. There are usually two, or sometimes three of them doing practice runs, following each other. Always cool to see and hear as it sounds like a freight train is just about to hit you. This past week I was walking on one of the open grass covered mesas next to a long canyon. I looked up and saw , then heard, a fighter jet coming my direction, low and fast. I guess he was about 200 to 300 yards above the tree tops. (It's hard to judge the actual distance of something moving that fast, but he was low) I started waving my arrow above my head at him to say "Hi". He must have noticed me because, in one swift movement he turned sideways for a split second, then as he was over top of me , he went inverted for a split second and then he rolled upright again and then finished off with a little waggle of the wings , as if to say "how 'bout that". Then he was gone from sight. I was left standing there in amazement at what just happened. An F-22 fighter jet just flew over top of me, INVERTED, and shook his wings at me. Truly one of the most awesome experiences I have ever had while deer hunting. And , no I didn't get a deer on this trip, but I didn't really mind.

Glassed it up last week but it was getting a little late so I figured it would be safe for another week.

Congratulations k-rub. Glad to hear staff and shop will remain business as usual. Hope to see expansion in the future, maybe a shop closer to us in NW Tucson/Marana area?? Best of luck to you and looking forward to meeting you in person. Ryan
