So my old man at 77 had never killed an elk. He has some serious mobility issues and drew the Champ tag in 4b. Knowing his limitations, he went in having decided on the first bull he saw. He spotted this guy about five minutes after legal shooting light and the rest is history. Great end to a great hunt and a fun weekend. We are beyond thrilled. My 70 year old mom tagged her first elk this year also. It was pretty magical getting to be there for them both this year. Sorry about the sideways pics

Hey man that was a tough hunt, I think I talked with your kids on Sunday morning at Jacob lake and if they were, awesome kids. We were seeing 40-50 does a day Wednesday-Friday all up high. Only saw 2 spikes and a forky on Friday morning and tons of does. Ran into a small 4x on Friday night on telephone hill and hunt was done. Hope you guys get it done.

Get into more rugged country where some jerk off cant drive his side-by-side thru the area you are hunting, happens all the time if you are in the "flats".and if you see trucks forming a roadblock on a public road go around it and hunt there anyway just to piss them off.(again, happens all the time.)

How many of you whitetail slayers have taken a 180+ burro buck in greasewood/mesquite flats with a bow or any weapon for that matter? And no, I haven't killed a 100" coues but have zero desire to waste my time doing it.

I have no idea, never shot at a big deer. I only shot dinks.

Are we still not acknowledging the fact that he might have just missed? Weird shoot happens on big deer!

I'm no marketing guru but adorable puppy pictures may elicit an emotional response you are looking for. This response includes a person shelling out $850. Picture this, a CWT member viewing the aforementioned adorable puppy pictures when a child in the home catches a glimpse of little fuzzy bundles of yellow joy... That child, all of the sudden, needs (can't live without) a lab puppy and it's so close to Christmas.....WHAMO, sold a dog! Everyone knows you don't get a pup on a major holiday, getting them before or after allows them to acclimate to a normal routine, missing or being settled in prior to the chaos of the holiday festivities. Thanks to the microwave oven and on demand this, on demand that, we are also horrible at delaying gratification so your puppies are well-positioned to be in hew homes before Christmas. GLWS

Hey everybody, I'm finally able to announce that I'm starting an archery shop in Tucson. I ended up acquiring Bull Basin Tucson and as of 15Nov it will be renamed to Stick Sniper Archery. Come check it out sometime if you are in the area. We are on Instagram and Facebook as Stick Sniper Archery. Our long term mission is to grow the archery community in southern AZ. Below is an intro video about us. https://vimeo.com/640596023

About ten years ago, I pondered a move to Durango or Mancos. Decided to stay in Flagstaff though. I have been printing on metal as the colors really pop compared to printing on canvas or paper. Thanks for the looks and comments Kevin and Mark.

Sorry to all for not updating this in a timely manner. With all your input, I did contact rcbs shortly after this post and worked with a nice rep who pretty much said “how else are you supposed to fix it without doing what you did” and sent me a brand new unit very quickly. I also took the advice of making sure it’s plugged into a reputable surge protector and utilizing a beam scale to x2 weights. I have not had any issues since I received the replacement. Thanks again for the help and guidance.

At least with the muley, you'd end up with some meat in the freezer....coues are like quail, tasty, but not much to them.

Seems you been hunting in 34A not 34B.

Otc changes will have very little effect on trophy quality. Removing otc all together would also have very little effect on trophy quality in most places.

Same staff. Same location. Should be business as usual with a focus on archery growth in Tucson.

Just wanted to get an update out on this trip. Just got back home. Saw over 60 deer on this trip including 4 bucks. One was a 3x4 but couldnt get a shot. Saw a huge 7 point elk with the other antler broken off the main beam. Saw lots of yotes, pronghorn, and even 2 moutain lions. Went 0-2 on tags. I didn't have any issues with other hunters being crowded. Very fun just couldnt get a deer to take a dirt nap! If you need any info on the late elk hunts in unit 9 PM me! I have found some good spots/sanctuaries
