He is 4 for 4. And I I’m proud of him. I know how hard it is to stay a young man that just wants to go hunting and not get involved in the numbers game. Especially around me, my friend’s. 100” is the topic when it cames to bucks, at get togethers and casual conversations. I do know how this kid does dream of a 100” deer but when I asked him what is was looking for this yr, his response “ just a 3x3 or a good 2 point”. Those words do make me happy. Here are his 4 coues bucks in four yrs Hope you all enjoy

We did see a couple AZGFD officers who didn’t have any objection to it. Not going to be shooting from it so it seems like a non-issue to me.

Update- We did wind up on the Bo. As we were heading in to a spot to glass we spotted a group of nice bulls from the truck. Even though he had a CHAMP permit and could have shot from the truck, he got out and put a sneak on them. A cow mew stopped them and he got the big one in the group. He's a nice 5x6 that was pretty busted up from fighting over the ladies. My uncle was happy as could be and never thought he would get a bull close to this big and figured going into the hunt his any elk tag would probably be wrapped around a cow leg. NOT ASKING FOR SPOTS My uncle drew the any elk CHAMP tag in Unit 10. It is his first elk tag ever. It starts the second week of Nov. He is fairly old and has some heart issues. He can get out and move around and do some hiking but is pretty limited and can't do anything too strenuous. I will be taking him to help out and pack out the elk. I have very limited experience in 10. I guess I am just looking for some pointers for him to help him be successful. Is the Boquillas fees worth it? We can road hunt since he has the CHAMP permit but I have never really been successful doing that, but it that probably the best chance at getting an elk? I am thinking a combination of road hunting, glassing from some easily accessible spots and sitting water mid-day. Thanks for any advice.

This is my Son, Aaron Altaha Jr., 11 years old, this past weekend was the last weekend of his rifle hunt for deer and he tagged out his 1st deer the day before the last day on 10/30/21. And he was blessed to harvest a Awesome 7x8 Coues buck from the San Carlos Apache Reservation in AZ.

What I have been told "the law states using a vehicle in the Aid of taking an animal is illegal. But that only means when you kill or attempt to kill a animal from that situation. " I have been checked in the past several times standing on my tool box or a cooleror, fuel cell in the back of my truck glassing with a pod off the cab of my truck in 4A. That's what I was told by G&F . Barry is a good cop so I'll take his word for it.

Not suprised. THere hasn't been rain in quite a while. Remeber, deer are browers not grazers but will eat cactus fruit.

We had a guy pull a manlift out to the farm and was glassing the flats surrounding the fields. Game warden said it was perfectly legal since there were no weapons involved and he was just glassing. The trespassing was not legal.

Been in a floorless and no snakes, but mice get in. Theyll go for food if not in a sealed bin. Left bread and hot coco packets and next morning been chewed. Best way to avoid critters, Four Seasons hotel, but you'll see plenty of cougars in the lounge, 🤣

Guess I’ll jump in here…got out for a quick scouting trip today. Lots of does and the biggest set of fresh tracks I’ve seen on a tank in a long time. Not quite the African truck setup but my buddy put a platform on the ladder rack on his truck. Still not easy glassing the flats but it helps.

So I sent my wife's son into a spot where they kicked up 5 bucks, one of them a good one. He couldn't get off a shot. They went back into the same place this morning. He missed 3 times. Going out in the morning to see if I can't give him some support. He needs it.

It’s definitely been a grind. My dad had the same tag as trphyhntr and I glassed up these two bucks yesterday and he decided the 3 point was good enough for his tag.

We were in 36b in Feb for a ham hunt; stumbled across a couple illegals in a misquote thicket at less then 10 yards. Said Buena seurte and kept going....called bp....and got some firewood piled in our camp after the next mornings hunt. Green firewood but firewood how often does that happen? Freaked me out a little bit. I don't think BP had much of a response to my call

There is literally no need for them to be out in the boonies cause they have a free pass at the river in Texas

I was originally thinking of going with Luke again. When I talked to him, he let me know that his Moose population is not as good as he would like right now for legal bulls and that he has a buddy that offers drop camps for moose with a much better population right now. He is such a stand up guy and was just honest with me. I booked with his buddy and the cool part is, I will get to hunt southern Ak next year. Our caribou hunt was north of Fairbanks and the weather was cold with snow, sleet and rain. Next year, the average temps where I will be in Sept. will be highs around 50 and lows will be high 30's, low 40's. Now i will get a taste of the nats, whitesocks and mosquitos.

All units have giant's but 10 has some big bucks and with all the cheap squatter type land around that unit with inhabitants that usually kill whatever they want including cattle.and all the powerlines around I'm still amazed at the quality of game in 10.

Fished Roosevelt yesterday and it was hit or miss. Threw some cranks and spinner baits first thing in the morning up against rock banks near windy Hill and got a couple. We then drop shot robo worms and caught a few more. After lunch we went back into some coves and threw chatter baits and did well but the biggest fish was 16". At the end, we boated 19 fish total. Be back next Friday and will report again.
