You come up with a ridiculous idea, you’re told over and over reasons why it’s ridiculous. instead of accepting that you move the goal posts a couple times then whine that you’re being attacked.

Simply put, (which I've tried) Killing the baby makers does not equal more bucks. Reducing the amount of bucks killed, makes more bucks.

Maybe my reply was not on point based on other responses so here's my mea culpa. https://rossoutdoors.com/store/Optic-Rentals-c29234003/ And the above is an AZ company which is always a good thing since most of CWT is AZ based. I would shop around as prices seem to vastly different. Eddie

I also used Ross Outdoors to rent a spotter last year on my deer hunt and I highly recommend them. It also doubles as an opportunity to do a real field test on something you may consider buying for yourself. I looked at some of the other optics rental options and after factoring in some of the additional costs Ross was actually cheaper.

I think it's been spoken-to and answered by several guys already on here. Killing more does will NOT result in you seeing more bucks. (Also, seeing lots of does does NOT cause you to see fewer bucks.) Your statement of "...makes the problem worse." assumes there is a 'problem' in the first place. From a biological perspective, seeing lots of does is not a problem.

One thing Arizona has that the mid west does not is a healthy population of lions ,No need to put more pressure on the does. just my 2 cents.

The last of my summer art shows in Pinetop, Arizona was held this past weekend. On Saturday evening, a sunset was promising as the western horizon was clear and rain clouds were moving in from the east. Goldeneye flowers still rimmed the lake. After the most colorful part of sunset left, I was packing up the gear and noticed the late evening blues and purples coming on, so I quickly set up again and caught this shot. I can say that the sunset was better than the sales at the art show.

Both are spoken for.... GONE-Camelback is a basic small daypack. Missing buckle on the waist belt. All other buckles, straps, and zippers are good.-GONE Fieldline is a bit larger. Zips apart to make a separate daypack and fannypack. All buckles, straps, and zippers are good. Claim in this post and pm me a shipping address(AZ only please)

In the areas I hunt I've seen multiple bucks trying to get at one doe. I don't think we have so many does that we need to thin em out. Even if there weren't multiple bucks, one buck will take care of multiple does in a season. Arizonas deer population simply doesn't support doe tags in my opinion. I think everyone would love to see bucks all day long and good bucks at that, but killing does isn't the solution.

Yeah, its a Pietta. Picked it up in a pawn shop for 50 bucks about 10 years ago. I keep telling myself I'm going to HAM hunt with it but haven't yet.

Reducing does reduces does and bucks. We don't have enough deer as is. Bad idea is bad.

So is it more bucks or better quality? You've said both

I am still trying to figure out why he thinks shooting does will produce more bucks. But I would like to try some of what he is smoking.

Is OP the same guy who didn’t know his cartridge fit in the magazine

Do me a favor and make sure that you have a guy with you that has experience with shooting guns. Not trying to be a jerk but we all started out learning from others around us that were much more experienced than ourselves.

    I appreciate the offer. A friend had a bunch of pre-cut 20" with a 4" bend that he gave me...so I think I'm set.

The deer numbers in the Midwest are so high they have to kill does. We don’t have enough deer to kill does.

So do you feel like there are too many deer where you hunt or just not enough bucks? These are two completely different topics.
  22. 1 point
Wouldn’t that decrease the amount of bucks even more

We actually have 3 jr tags to fill, my two kiddos (son-has only killed 1 deer and daughter-has killed 5 deer and 1 cow)and my daughters best friend who hadn’t filled any tags yet. So the plan is daughters friend first, followed by my son then my daughter. Like you said, being there and watching them is an absolute blast and memory maker. Reminds me of when I was there age with my dad. Rifles are dialed in out to 500yds, but hoping to get within 100 yds or less. This was my daughters 80yd shot same unit 3 yrs ago.
