My son is stationed in Alaska and was lucky enough to draw a Kodiak Brown Bear tag (2% draw odds) for the fall hunt this year. We will doing a DIY hunt and will be in Area 16 (Larsen Bay). It should be a lot of fun and great memories for sure. Anyone here hunted on Kodiak Island? If so share your experience so I know how bad my body is going to get beat up and possibly die from a bear attack.......🤪 He shot this caribou Monday morning on Chicken Ridge in NE Alaska.

Found this buck opening morning running with 6 others equal in size with 2 others much wider! This guy walked into me at 64 yds so I took the shot! Crazy thing is he jumped the string so fast and did a 180 degree turn in the air I actually hit him on the complete opposite side I intended to, never seen anything like that before! Also have a September elk hunt in same unit and purchased Big Bo access just so I have options , anyone have recommendations on if it’s worth it or am I better off in other areas? Any info greatly appreciated.

I’m sure it was a woke IPA or maybe a Whiteclaw.

I have 3 pieces of bedroom furniture for sale. Two night stands and one dresser. The dresser is 60 inches tall, 19 inches deep, 40 inches wide. The night stands are 28 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 22 inches high. These were my grandparents furniture that I no longer has a use for. My guess is they were made in the late 70 or 80’s. I am located in the west valley and asking $200 for all 3 pieces. Message me or text at 6023270424. Nick

18.5 hours 145 miles Still under Honda warranty! This is a 5 speed unlike the 700 and 1000 which are 3 The reason they call it the goat! It will out climb and crawl down anything. I am the original owner and purchased last year for an elk hunt! Has been garaged since! I am in Bakersfield, Ca! Selling for health reasons! Will fit in the bed of a 1/2 ton full size truck, so transporting is easier! $9000 6613012936

My guess is that they are not a "granola gang", but more likely hunters. Possibly they even browse this site on occasion.... The garb the adults are wearing doesn't appear to be hippy-granola type to me, plus what the heck are they going to do with a tree stand? I'm thinking they are opportunistic thieving sometimes-hunters who just figured they would exercise their sticky fingers that day. But who knows.....

Yep, that is the one and only mushroom that I have picked and eaten here in AZ. Very easy to identify and safe to eat, plus there are tons around.... A friend who initially showed me them is from Russia (immigrated 25+ years ago) and said they call them 'Oily Mushrooms' there, based on the film on the top. Obviously the same reason they are called Slippery Jacks, here.

I'll second this, the heat will slow things down in daylight hours. It's been wet and cool in 3C and heard some talking last weekend, but feels like June again and quiet.

I hate to be the pessimist but I’ve never seen a heat wave of this level on the opener, with its hundreds of people running the woods blowing calls, and the rut be good or bugling stay strong after opening morning. Kingman is supposed to be over 100 degrees for 3 of the first five days of the hunt so I think western units are going to be very slow initially. Was quiet last weekend.

Thanks for the info. I do plan to weigh my charges (I work at a lab and have access to calibrated balances that are accurate to 1/10,000 of a gram). The teflon tape is a new one though that I will look into. So you don't use an anti-seize grease? As far as the basics I have done a ton of research so I feel like I have most of the process covered. It is mainly trying to find which loads will work best in my gun. I guess I won't know until I try different variables. I was hoping for some feedback as to where to start with using the 285 grain ELR's. Unfortunately, there is not as much data on the .45 vs. 50. It seems like lot of folks bash PB's but I suspect the ELR is a little different that some of their other bullets, at least I hope so because I have a bunch of them.

Another week getting bigger by the day. Chased bulls all morning sunday then lifted at the local small town gym, nothing like the sound of metal plates clanging after using rubber plates at commercial gym for years. The gym bathroom lighting was absolutely sick, would go back just to flex. cream of rice, so easy to make with a jetboil while out in the woods. for your time IMG_8781.MP4

The boy is fighting a lingering infection right now which is delaying his surgeries. The last 24 hours have been positive with a somewhat stable low temperature. They are hopeful for surgery on Tuesday.

I’m not sure what the issue is but that is the second thing I have posted you have made some comment to. Do you make comments on everyone’s stuff or just mine? If you want it I will make you a deal and even help you load it up. I’m that nice of a guy.
