Thank you guys for all the replies we just returned from our trip down to San Carlos. Fernando got us on the fish on day 1 and we had a blast fighting the yellowtail. That evening some weather moved in amd we had to cancel day 2 did a little fishing from shore but didn’t get anything picture worthy. I will definitely be returning and fishing with Catch 22 in the near future.

If cameras don't make a difference Russ Jacoby wouldn't have been crying his eyes out at the future ban. With no cameras hunters will have to get in the buffalos wheel house to find where they've been. The extra disturbance will instantly push them back on the Park.

I would look at the Raymond Ranch "hunt". And I use the term "hunt" loosely. No telling what the House Rock Ranch hunt will turn into now that USFS/NPS/DOI have gotten involved.

I am a pretty average hunter and a below average gear guy, I use 150 dollar binoculars that I bought ten years ago. I usually use the two second rule in judging if its a shooter or not. Listening to Jay Scott Podcast, I hear him use the term 'cream' quite a bit. If Jay is the cream, I am more like grounds. To use a fishing analogy he would be in the private boat with a captains chair and my preference would be swigging coors lights on a party boat learning from other guys swigging coors lights. For the most part I do not like waiting for tags with this exception, I wanted to hunt the AZ strip once in my life. I will post daily as cell service allows my views and pics from 13b. People keep telling me I need to get a guide or buy a scouting package. Although I am sure it would help with my success, I consider hunting to be a test of what I know and what my intended quarry knows, (that and two daughters college tuition payments pretty much rules out buying anything) Here are some pics from my scouting. Big shout out to shane koury for helping me decide what a shooter is this year and pointing me in the right direction to check. First Buck seen Too cute not to stop and take a pic First real bucks A big three in the afternoon MY bison hunt sucked the majority of my vacation so my intention is to hunt the first few days then ten days starting just before labor day weekend. either my failure or success will be epic.

Didn't get drawn for anything this year. Spent 12 days up there for OTC archery. Dry 6 days, and just when I was getting things worked out, it started raining again. Rained 6 days in a row, 2 hail storms, one deluge. It's definitely wetter and greener than I can ever remember. Found one nice buck but couldn't close the deal. Bulls were starting to bugle. Had a nice 6x6 come to water before it started raining again. Saw nice 7x7. Actually saw one bull had some cows rounded up already. He won't keep em.

Thanks I just read what I wrote as I waited for my friend to get into position on some antelope. Two things I took away; first don't bison hunt, strip hunt and elk hunt in the same year. Second is my mindset, I really wanted to explore as much as kill a big buck.

Lee, Thanks for the tour and the conversation. We didn't knock any birds down, and it is disrespectful to talk about dead soldiers with the 9/11 anniversary upon us and Slo Mo Jo and the Ho pulling out of A-stan in the manner they did, but we left a few empties in the bin with room for a few more. Put him in for the Bab and get the “extra bonus fall Bison Raymond kill pt” every year . This way you’re doubling up points till he draws the tag. If and when he draws the tag hit me up and we can go through all the maps and info I have from my Bull Bison hunt up there .

If he is not concerned about getting a bull versus a cow as far as the fall hunt go I would put him in for late September and early October hunt as I think the cows are a bit prettier because they've grown a little bit more fur.

I look for hunts at times that they can dedicate time to the hunt. In the spring we apply for hunts during summer break. In the fall we try for fall break. If you are doing the 12AW hunt you need time. Preferably a couple of weeks. Without being able to run cams, this will now be a much tougher hunt for DIY hunters.

Much better bulls than what I am viewing in unit 27. Didn't fill out as good on top. Seems the rains came too late for an exceptional horn growth year.

hopefully your friend continues to improve. my work just instituted vaccines requirement, but I been vaccinated since January - now that pfizer got full FDA clearance for 16 yrs and older hopefully more people that can get the vax will get it, but I doubt it, cracks me up now the narrative is the "FDA is political, in bed with big pharma" this week I have a good friend in her early 30's got covid from a relative that she spent 5 mins with, then her boyfriend and mother got it- she has ran marathons and her boyfriend is a Marine - both are extremely sick, the mom is in the hospital and not doing good (not on a vent and pray it stays that way)
