I missed opening morning, but had a great opening afternoon hunt. I love having a dove cleaner living with me;) Best $30 I've spent all year!!!!! If you don't already have one, I highly recommend buying a wild game washer. It significantly shortens the cleaning time. 5 days of dove hunting coming up;)

I shot 30 birds this morning. Mostly Euros and pigeons. Totally glad I woke up at 3am to check the weather.

I would not have let them pass. If they want to tailgate you, they can eat the dust.

Its a special thing to get to hunt with your dad or your kids.I didn't get that opportunity till about 10 yrs ago with my dad parents split up when I was real little and for over 20 yrs hadn't seen my dad.so it means a lot to me to get kids and there dads out hunting together.I have been able to help guide my dad to his first elk a 6x9 and his friend on his dream hunt for elk A few years ago .my dad is the one on the right .his buddy from Texas wanted to shoot a small one.now we get together and hunt somewhere every year!!

Went out after work, a little warm but decent amount of birds to shoot at with the amount of rain we got the night before. The birds were on the smaller side though. And 1 less rattler, dang snake didn’t even rattle and I was 1 1/2’ away from me while looking for a downed bird, needless to say it was DRT……dead right there!!!

They could be anywhere from right on to way off depending on your tune. If you haven’t shot them yet then it’s not to late to get some new broadheads, there are so many good options out there that are better then the old aluminum can thunderheads. This late in the game I’d get some expandables and go hunting as it’s too late to try to figure out a fixed head. Most good expandables these days are light years better then a thunderhead anyhow.

You can get the Mountain House in 10 serving gallon size. I bought a chicken/rice and a lasagna like 10 yrs ago. Had at property trailer for over 10 yrs.. in rv for 2. We finally opened it , just to get rid of it. Lasagna was actually quite good. Chicken/rice a little chewy but ok. I'd buy again if needed, lots of different meals to choose from. Easy to buy a couple 10 serving size and zip lock what you need to take along

I agree. I hate to be the person that has someone behind me and think what I’m doing is more important than what they’re doing. All I know at the moment is that someone behind me is faster than me, I’ll let them by as a courtesy. I know nothing of their intentions. This is just the way our culture is now. Pretty divided. I was out scouting yesterday and came up on a truck on the side of the road. As I got closer, the hunter rolled up his window as a gesture he didn’t want to talk. I remember when it was routine to talk to anyone and everyone that you passed on a two track road. Not to make a new best friend, just to exchange hellos and wish each other luck. Now no one wants to talk or be friendly. We’re too competitive for our own good.

Thanks for the advice azlance, but I’m making this trip. I drew with far less pts than needed and not willing to give up the tag. I’m a realist but choose to be optimistic that we could have a fun hunt. Any time out there with my son and friends is a win!👍

Hey all, im in Wyoming and have watched Arizona’s weather daily. My boy and I both have 10 early archery tags and know the drought is bad and what it can do to this hunt. We’re doing rain dances from up here hoping for some good monsoon weather! Has 10 gotten any of the recent rains you have been seeing?
