This is my biggest one and for my hunting partner! We both got it done I spotted a buck 2200 yards out and made the stock. He looked like he was on the property according to. My spotter watched on a high hill. Once I got to within 500 yard. I looked on OnX and he is clearly on State Land. I radioed back to my partner and told him. He said what about the buck bedded down 700 yards to my left. I ranged him and said its more like 900 yards. But looked on OnX and said oh yeah he is on property. He said can you stalk him. It was so flat and not a stupid bush. Nor was I going to take a shot with 5 mph winds at 900. Plus if I got prone he disappears. Only option was to walk strait to him. I got to 450 yards. While bedded down he had no idea I got that close up to him. Once they see you In New Mexcio a 1,000 yards out they bust out of there. No Joke!!! I couldn't go prone. It was a slight hill and grass. But sitting on my knees with the bipod all the way extend at 450 yards my shot punched him and he took 3 steps back wards and fell over. My buddy long story short he missed this buck at 150 yards. Lol! He got to a prone position and at 600 yard and he started to prance off and led him 4ft and center punched him. The best part he dropped like a sack of rocks into the grass and disappeared. Like the earth just swallowed him up

I really, really wish I had a DeLorean with a Fluc Compacator so I could go back in time 45 minutes. Argggggg!!!!!! No shot, but got within 60. Drew back, found my anchor and then watched him run off. So frustrating!!!!!

My days with a Bow are done. Will be 65 3 weeks from today. I am a lefty and had my whole left shoulder rebuilt 7 years ago. Haven't even tried a bow cause I don't wanna blow it out again. now my right shoulder is giving me the same problems. Am even afraid to try golf! Time next year for Crossbow. I have no hunts this year ,thats good. I Spent so much Money on trips around the country in the last 10 months it drained me. But I had fun . Been gone over 100 days in that time period. Thats what retirement should be. Just had a Great Buddy pass 2 weeks ago at 65. I wanna do things while I can still enjoy it. You can sit home when You get old! Got an Elk hunt lined up in Wyoming next year with my 11 points. Life is to enjoy. Hope all are successful this and Good luck to Everyone. Enjoy!.....................BOB!

It's time to let a few things go so I can start on another build. Up for sale is an all original Colt Blue Label rifle. It is a Model 6601 - Match Heavy Barrel. I am the original and only owner. I bought this sometime around 1989-1990. I fired it a few times (less than fifty) and put it in the safe. There are a few minor scratches, but they come from storage in a safe, rather then use in the field. The rifle is fairly pristine and somewhat collectible. Everything on this rifle is stock and original as it came from the factory. The rifle comes with all original parts: complete packing box (with blue label), plastic wrapping and gun sleeve, cleaning kit (still sealed in plastic), instruction manual and 20 round magazine. Keeping all the original colt fire control parts, I paid a gunsmith to do a trigger job on this rifle. He took out all the trigger creep and lowered the pull to around 2 pounds. The trigger now breaks like glass. Asking $1,150. If interested, PM me here at CWT or call/text me at 602-361-7191. Listed locally only. I will be out of town from 9/20 to 9/22 - returning to the valley on Friday afternoon.

I have posted this before but this is a 423 grain arrow. That’s a 125 grain slick trick broadhead . It went through both scapula at 52 yards on a bull elk. He went about 50 yards and dropped over dead. that set up chrono’d at 269 ft./s.

I have a steel Jiffy Jack and at the risk of sounding immodest, I was able to change a blown tire on the ole Trav-A-Long on the side of I-20 just outside of Birmingham, in about 8 minutes solo without disturbing the ponies (except for the brief wobble as the tire separated). Lucky for me the boys from Talladega didn't see me and try to recruit me to work in the pits! Using what you have is great too! Also don't let anyone here give you grief, I had an idea awhile back of a fabric that would stick together and you could pull it back apart, then stick it together again. A very unique design that involved loops and hooks made of plastic fabric...... Apparently I told too many people about it.

Nice bucks and thanks for sharing your success! That last trophy photo of your buddy is excellent. The lighting from the sunset, the antelope pose, his smile that captures the moment, photo shot from a low angle, just great. Congrats to the both of you.

The south is much easier to glass. It really depends on your style. Good bucks killed on both ends of the unit. I would not classify any part of the unit as "better" for mature bucks.

1 1/2" last night in the armpit of the world. We have gotten 2" in lovely Tonopah since this started. I feel bad for those folks in Gila Bend. There has been several deaths due to flooding and idiots trying to cross flooded roads.
