Well, it's time for another Wyoming Antelope adventure. We arrived late yesterday evening to our cabin. We drew a new unit this year so hopefully today's scouting goes well. We woke up to a small buck 40 yards outside our cabin coming to water. Unfortunately our cabin is in the wrong unit. I'll keep you guys up on the action, stay tuned...... P.S. lots of ammo up here. I started the trip with no steel shot for the upcoming duck season. I know have 8 boxes. Never seen them sell 100 round steel shot boxes until yesterday. Great deal for only $40.

So I had this tag two years ago and shot a very good buck. I used Mossback with Chad and Tory. They have a good outfit and would use them again. Travis is also a great guy. The Bundy's know the strip too. Here is what you need to understand and be aware of. This hunt will have probably 500-750 people in the unit. It is like a southern whitetail tag. The amount of people is absolutely insane. You will see 50-100 trucks a day full of guys. By mid week about 75-90% of the people will be out of the unit. The guides were working on killing one buck up there opening day and there were at least 30 trucks driving the roads looking for this buck. The buck finally walked across the road around 10am and got hammered by the next guy that drove by. Then the group all went looking for the next biggest buck in the unit. This tag really is kind of a $hit show to be honest. I'm glad I did it once but I'll never do it again. I have been and will be putting in for the archery hunt. It is a very different experience and I'm not excited about the mid November rifle experience again.

All - anyone want to pick a date and boat and do an overnight or 1.5 day San Diego fishing trip in Sept? We can just get on a boat and go and not worry a private charter.

From what I’m seeing out scouting for deer this year, it’s going to be a great deer hunt. Lots of choices to choose from. 😉

3 stalks today. No shots. Gonna be a tough hunt, because we aren't seeing many Antelope.

It would be fun to get at least 5 to 10 CWT members on a trip. The patty we picked up our Dorado on was just jammed packed with them. They just would not bite anymore. Quick recipe for Mahi Mahi - use olive oil and ton of diced garlic and low heat the garlic in cast iron pan so the oil soaks up the flavor, then take out garlic and oil and cook fish in cast iron, once out take some garlic and light oil on top of fish.

These posts are always funny. Get to see everyone trip over each other to stroke their favorite man crush. Never fails to produce a dozen posts with “Nobody knows X better than so and so” I’m sure your dad will have an awesome hunt and he is wise to make the most of his opportunity. Congrats, I hope you have a great hunt.

You need to ask your dad, does he want a hunt or just show up to pull a trigger. Choose outfitter based on answer. Not much enjoyment or experience for the later but to each their own I guess. i would go with Dave Matthews or one of the Bundys.

I wouldnt buy the 12x50 to save weight, the meoptas 12s are only 3 or 4 ounces lighter then their 15 x 56. The meopta 10 x 42 or zeiss 10 x 42 are real nice for the money and you can get them gently used for a fraction of retail. They will be 750 to 1200.

None of us NEED. But it sure is nice!

Since they will be used more than anything else, id suggest the 10x42 Swaro NL pure. They weigh nothing and are the best of the best. Possibly even the 12x42. I love mine.
