Thought you guys would appreciate this picture that I found of my grandpa. It was taken 60+ years ago. I am the same age now that he was in this picture. He passed when I was 13, but wish my boys and I could have hunted with him.

Well, it's time for another Wyoming Antelope adventure. We arrived late yesterday evening to our cabin. We drew a new unit this year so hopefully today's scouting goes well. We woke up to a small buck 40 yards outside our cabin coming to water. Unfortunately our cabin is in the wrong unit. I'll keep you guys up on the action, stay tuned...... P.S. lots of ammo up here. I started the trip with no steel shot for the upcoming duck season. I know have 8 boxes. Never seen them sell 100 round steel shot boxes until yesterday. Great deal for only $40.

Have had a lot of visitors at the Wickenburg Range. Rabbits, squirrels, snakes even deer, but today was a first.

Make sure it is unloaded and do not point it at the buyer. Judge a book by its cover. PROFILE!! Bring 2nd gun loaded if in a bad area.

Doctor Optic 15x60B Nobilem Binoculars, had Mountain Optics go through them July 2020 and brought them back to new. Fantastic glass for the age. Comes with tripod mount (tripod not included) super clear glass. Comes with original soft case. Anybody who knows glass knows that these can hold there own with the more expensive glass out there. Located in Tucson. $675.00

A little update on this. I originally posted because the whole subject interests me, but also because I have a friend in NY that has been building points and is ready to make the trip when I give him the thumbs up. Arizona is always great relative to other states but, given the choice, I would rather he come out in an average to above average year. This monsoon season has been awesome. I think the feed should be great and the burns should green up for next year. I think the elk will go into the winter fat and healthy. If we get decent moisture in the winter, I think next season is shaping up to be great. I will probably have him apply and come out next year. Thanks for all the updates and comments.

Was a back up/project rifle but have other projects that need more attention. Will include 2 boxes of federal power shock 100 gr. $450 for complete setup

Not trying to be rude but based on your question I'd bet you could probably be given the best Jave honeyhole and not see a thing. You should focus on figuring out why you're judging the area solely on whether you've seen an animal. Lots of ways of scout Jave that dont involve actually seeing them, although it's nice when it happens.

I think it could have them healthy and make for some great rutting action. Too late for elk antlers though. do you guys think it will help much for deer?

Doing this on my cell, so will be brief. Used 6 pack Sauerfish charters out of Point Loma Sportfishing, https://www.sauerfishcharters.com/the-boat. Went out at 5am and got a ton of bait. The rear swim step is a bait tank to use for throwing, center deck bait tank and a corner tank as well. We headed out into Mexican waters (371). Breakfast was a killer fat breakfast burrito. Standard kierig coffee, water, soda and yes beer was included. Chips and candies with fruit as snacks. Lunch was a panini style turkey sandwhich, very filling, with potatoe salad and pickle. Hit the grounds, hitting pattys, pulled a Yellowtail out, moved on. More kelp and much of the same, 1 and 2s here and there, was a non biting day. Got on a small patty, loaded with Dorado flashing and jumping but we could only stick 4. There was a ton of yellowtail and yellowfin tuna under it, but nothing wouldn't bite. Kept trolling all day, no luck. We fished a little longer than expected and had to get back to the barn, they had trip leaving that night. Ended up with 7 yellowtail and 4 Dorado. Bite was slow and tough, tried throwing a surface iron and sniper for jigging, no dice. Didnt get to use my new Opah kill bag, as we just filleted the fish and basically ate them for dinner over the grill. Will recommend this charter, captain and deckhand worked hard and kept us in the loop and tried to get these fish on. Also, you want some killer tacos, check out Salud Tacos https://saludtacos.com/ about 15 mins from the landings, suggest Uber as parking sucks. Place is in the Barrio Logan district.

As most here can imagine, the rain has done wonders for the forest up here. I drove through parts of unit 8 last night & the meadows that are normally yellow are all green! Some of the tanks are still down/low however. The second pic is of a small drainage near a main road & not a tank. This drainage obviously received significant moisture. edit---- Forgot to mention I also saw 2 badgers on the drive too. They were "frolicking" on the main road, but took off before I could get close enough for a pic.

In looking at max loads from Barnes for the 140TTSX (3200 fps MV) and Nosler for the 160NAB (3050 fps MV), the data at 700 yards is in favor of the 160NAB. 160NAB vs 140TTSX data at 700 yards. 2053 vs 1916fps. 1497 vs 1141 ft-lbs energy. 27 vs 34" wind drift (10mph crosswind) Both dropping the same amount at 700 yards.

Realistically how far do you plan on shooting? For 20+ years all I ever shot were120gr Barnes X Bullets somewhere north of 3400fps with either RL19 or 22 but I never had to shoot anything farther than 300 yards.

    LMT's are so yesterday. I'd rather have a Palmetto State Armory. That's quality. I'd offer you 500 and a Hi-point 9mm
