It might be worse now after those rains. It got it pretty bad. The 2nd photo is from next to the tower, looking kinda NE back towards the main road/globe. 3rd photo is the big canyon on the left about a mile from the locked gate that goes to Madera.

I would give $1,000 for it. Market is so inflated right now and I think it would be a hard sell at $1,600. Just my opinion. Nice piece! Let me know.

Hopefully USFS will get on with it. With all the fires around the western US and in AZ it could sap resources. I witnessed the Wallow fire BAER response, I was impressed. https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/photos/AZCOF/2021-07-04-1120-Backbone-PostFire-BAER/related_files/pict20210620-211033-0.pdf

The screw in from the outdoorsmans works perfectly. Last I had heard it does not void warranty. Even if it does, it is removable. Remove it, out the cap back on, send it in.

Why would you want to hunt elk in January.....

(Slightly off topic) Who would waist 20 years waiting for an elk tag. I've honed my craft by hunting elk on what people consider crappy tags. I would take a 4b November archery tag every year. Back to the question. If it was a sheep tag which I am now at 20+ years of waiting. If I had a similar ethical dilemma I would immediately call g&f and proceed from there. If not available (and we are speaking hypothetically) I may use the SSS method.

Turned in at the last minute? It’s 2 months till the seasons start. And what, they’re gonna make a new season in January for tags that were meant to be used in the general seasons? this a Special randy newburger season or what

I grew up going to AK during the summer. age 9 - 19. Both my parents were teachers and we left the day after school was out and came home the day before school started. We stayed in Kenai because my dad figured there was someplace good to go fishing on any given day within an hours drive of Kenai. From age 10 - 14 all we did was fish. It was a good 5 year run. At 15 I started working so my fishing time took a hit. I ate so much salmon as a kid I can not eat it now as an adult. AK Halibut (IMO) is still one of the best fish to eat (Ahi tuna the other). I got spoiled. Fishing in AZ is not really any fun for me. Now I go to MX to fish in the ocean. Quality over quantity. These stories and pictures are great. They bring back a lot of great memories. Spending the month of July in AK would be a great trip.

The story. G&F called me last week and asked if I wanted a depredation cow tag for round valley after a minutes of thought I decided to take it. I heard it expires the 8th. What she actually said was the 5th. My wife had the show low creek hunt that expires today so it would give me the weekend to hunt. She got her elk Tuesday and I was really relaxed Wednesday until I saw the date on my tag. Last night I go to the very south end of the area and nothing. Get a semi late start from my house in show low today. Rushing to my vantage point I see a few cows just off the road by the river and figured why not. Sneaking in to where that cow is at the beginning of the thread I jump a 3 legged calf with dots in bad shape. I say to myself sh!t and take the 20 yard shot it runs 18 yards and falls over. For s&g I finish the stock on the cow and take the picture. Hardest part was deciding to rock climb out, go through the swamp, wade the creek, or go through willow jungle to get out. Willow jungle was the best. The cliffs the river the jungle before anyone says anything this hunt has a special exemption for archery hunter where you can shoot within a 1/4 mile from an occupied structure and it is encouraged to shoot the elk that are in the alfalfa.

I’ll take the fox pro if it’s still working and the location makes sense.

Have a 2001 sequoia with 220k. Toy tech lift. Legit beast. The 4.7 v8 is a great engine but still runs a timing belt. Very user friendly 4wd system, with center diff lock in 4low. Poor mans land cruiser. Plenty of space, good clearance, but the 7/8th size and fits on most trails still

I read somewhere it was in the late 30's, but who knows. I do know this...reintroduction of that Species here is a fools errand, and will bring only trouble to both people and wildlife. May as well reintroduce the Sabertoothed Tiger.

Would of been cool to see but I still prefer they not reintroduce Grizzly into our very populated state. I would prefer herbivores.. Imagine driving up i-17 and seeing Bison grazing around Cordes. 😃 Maybe we could do some fancy genetic stuff and come up with a miniature bison say 200lbs.. and have over counter tags for them. Maybe reintroduce all the grizzly and wolves in California cities?
