Just received my tag today, it says august 9th on the website but got it today.

I didn’t realize they were so hard to find right now. If I didn’t have two muzzy hunts this year, I would throw it up for sale for one of you guys.

It's at 67%. The last I remember it back a month or more it was at 63%.

Ya it even rained in Yuma yesterday. What a trip. Probably got over an inch in about 20-30 minutes. Drain on my patio couldn't keep up so I was out there in my Xtra Tufs and swim trunks sweeping water the other way like a mofo!

I just drove up here to Heber yesterday afternoon , night and day from 3 weeks ago. The Bush Fire scar is greening up, some of the saguaros look like they are going to make it. Hit rain at the Mt. Ord pass and was in it till the Young rd turnoff. Payson had a river going through the main road. Trees that were obviously stressed along the 260 are looking healthy again. We had over 7 1/2” here in the last 3 weeks according to the rain gauge . Haven’t been out in the forest yet , got some clean up to do and then I will. Bring more!

Interview went stellar this morning and, while I refuse to get my hopes too high, I thought I nailed it! In other good news I'm not sure how I forgot, I've been in touch with a guy my dad served with in Vietnam and he's invited me to come turkey hunt his ranch in central Texas! My wife has given me the blessings to go for it! He's had one 5-bearded tom taken from his property in the past and only has one other lease hunter there. I think he's not allowing the other hunter there while we're hunting. A buddy and I will be in central Texas, staying at his place, chasing Rios and he's in a 4-bird limit county! The blessings of the brotherhood only formed through combat! Early April won't get here soon enough!

Just got an offer on my late ma's house. Youngest daughter was just hired by Mesa F.D. Fired up the Diesel after it sat 9 months looking for an ECM. Wake up each morning beside my incredibly beautiful, loving wife.

44 days till elk season and people havent even shot their bows

Surprised someone hasn't picked this up. These are excellent rifles.

I think the reticle is for range finding not hold over. John Byrnes designed it because sometimes his range finder wouldn’t work in fog. Supposed to get an elk ranged out to 400 yds. Great deal on this scope. They were $1100 back then. Not sure I have the name correct.

My guess is that he was not kidding. My opinion (and we all know what those are worth... lol) is that if you want to have a great weekend in some amazing country with the chance to see some turkeys, too, then it's worth it! If you've not spent time up there, just the camping alone is worth it. A drive to Timp or Fire Point can't be beat! Long way to drive, but it's cool and unique country.

Congrats to your dad on the tag! I would go with Shadow Valley, because they’ve taken some amazing bucks. Probably a good thing he drew it this year even with antler growth down, next year the guides will have it much tougher without trail cams! Good luck to your dad should be a great hunt!
