Well in heber for a days. Decided to take the boat and try a different lake everyday. First up fools hallow. Water came up 15 ft locals said in two days so expected fishing to suck. 3 total in 4 hrs and we got this pig. big walleye. About 30” and 15 lb. first one ever on the boat. Fight good. tomorrow will be willow. Heard fishing has been great but who knows with the lake level changes also.

I would put him in my age bracket. Maybe 56-62? And the whole "Get back in the kitchen" misogynist talk was an online persona. In person he was very polite to the gentler sex. Had my wife with me last time I dropped by his shop and he was so hospitable and kind. Running to get her a chair, offering her refreshments and making small talk about his faithful shop mouser...

I'm in shock reading this! Hope this is a wake up call for any of us that have unfinished business. Live every day as if its your last. You never know! Rest in Peace Delw, you were one of a kind. Maybe clashed with him a time or two but who didn't? I had a lot of respect for him and will miss him for sure. God Bless him!

1st post welcome to the site. Most aren't going to give up their honey holes to a first time poster. Basic info, just about everyone hunts off the Ruby Rd or 39. If you go into the unit from the Pena Blanca lake side, from Thumb Butte to Arrivaca Lake is a good place to glass.

I live in Safford and get out into each of these units fairly regularly. I can honestly say that if you are looking for decent numbers of mule deer to hunt, it’s not there. Numbers have been down for a while and don’t see that changing anytime soon. I saw more OTC hunters last winter than I ever have before in 28,29,&31. It was beyond frustrating.

As noted in original post I am looking at January 2022 hunt. Zeroing in on units 32 and 33. Wife coming so we make vacation out of it.

Further south is oak and grassland - where the unit begin is typical desert by Armado- I prefer the later.... in all reality the areas G&F provide are great starting points-

We compared a pair of theses side by side with a Swaro BTX / 115 mm earlier this year. These are still the best for image quality.

I have reloading components that I’d be willing to donate to anyone who has a child/ren with big game tags this year and finding it difficult to obtain these components. I have powder, bullets, primers, and brass. I live in AZ and happy to deliver or ship components at my expense. I’m so sick and tired of these businesses and some folks on here ripping people off and gouging us for supplies.
