Shot this guy in 18. Couldn’t see any of this when we glassed him. Curls under his ear and behind it. And sorry it’s sideways

Banning for "fair chase" seems like a real stretch to me. I have a buddy that has placed numerous trail cameras for deer and elk hunting for about 20 years or so. He admits killing only one animal from his camera pictures during that time. If one is hunting bull elk during the August to October time frame, all bulls move for the rut, and some more than 20 miles. As for cow elk you don't need a camera to locate them usually. They will stay in the same locale generally speaking unless pushed by hunters. The strongest "fair chase" argument might be for coues bucks that generally stay in the same locale, but even that one is pretty lame IMHO. I agree that a lot of recreationalists that enjoy trail cameras are now going to sacrifice due to this rule change for a few bad apples of unethical behavior. Those kinds likely will contribute their negative behavior in other ways unfortunately.

Not sure what "hatchet jack" is. I can say that my Uncle owned it for quite some time as stated in the ad. UPDATE: SHAME on me for not picking up on that! LOL! I have seen that movie more times than I can remember and it took me a while for the synapsis to kick in.

Very sad to hear. Caught way off guard when I read this. I have only known him through azbasszone and coueswhitetail.com. never seen a picture of him until this thread. Looks way too young to be gone already. Thoughts and prayers to his family during this difficult time.

Yepper!! Been on them for a couple years now. After a month it makes a world of difference. Not so tired, more energy, sleep better, wake up not feeling like I have hang over. You completely feel better. Have to stick to it though. My wife loves it because she gets to be the one that gives me the shot. She pretty brutal sometimes. She knows I hate needles. Weird…. I have a lot of tattoos and can get tatted all day long. But give a shot I’m like a little bitch. But seriously you can’t go wrong with those testosterone shots.👊👊

Sitting around and talking with old HS buddies is worth the trip. The fishing is just a bonus. Go and enjoy the fresh mountain air during monsoon. Good Times IMO.

5bs was extremely dry last year on my dads hunt as well. But there were still a few great tanks that surprised me with how much water was in them. Taking the week off leading up to opening day, as always, was invaluable. 5bs has some harsh roads, but we were willing to take them to get away from the crowds, large tumblers of coffee and leaving a couple hours before you hear all the generators kick on. Our experience with the rut last year in 5bs was incredible, and surprising. For us, using calls was not productive at all. And I believe that was because the herds we were running into were so large. The smallest herd (with a decent bull) we saw was maybe 50 elk, and the largest being a couple hundred. It was a learning experience for us, in the sense that glassing was next to nothing other than from one mountain, and that the herds were so large. Good luck on your hunt!
